The staff are always polite and courteous when we go to visit. Nothing appears to be too much trouble and any questions asked are either replied to or passed on to another member of the team to deal with. My mum has only been at Watersmead for 8 months so I can only review what I know in this short period.
My family and I have been very happy with the care my husband has received at Watersmead. All the staff have been very good, they are helpful, caring, always cheerful. We know he is in good hands and well cared for.
My mother has been at Watersmead for about six years. She is happy there and feels that it is now her home. Generally, I am very happy with her care. She is now in bed permanently in her room and is assisted with all her care and meals etc. The staff are all very friendly and show her much kindness. The home is very well managed.
My mother has been a resident of Watersmead for nearly 5 years now, she is so happy and she adores everyone who works there and I mean everyone. She sometimes joins in with the activities at the home except when it has animals to hold and pet as she would run a mile (if she could). I do have time to sit and watch the everyday running of the home while my mum dozes off again in the main dining room and the care the carers have for other residents melts my heart sometimes, they just go above and beyond. Also the manager and secretary are so lovely and they are straight on the phone to me if my mum is ill, they keep me up to date about appointments my mum has to attend or if the doctr has to be called. I really love going to see my mum especially if there is entertainment on and everyone has a sing-along me included. I know I speak for every relative's family that if there was a medal to have this home deserves it. Thank you.
Hi my mother-in-law has been with you for 15 months. In that time she has settled into your home very well. This is because the manager and her staff are switched on with the residents as to their needs etc. There are always a selection of daily activities going on which Mum enjoys getting involved with. Also the daily menu is good. I would recommend this care home to anyone having to move into one.
Everyone was very helpful when we visited and made the decision easier for my dad to live at the care home. He has been there a month now and settling in very well. His food needs are being met and he loves his fish and chips Fridays.
Mum is very well cared for and the staff are always on hand, Mum says she feels happy and safe there. There is always a good choice of food, snacks and drinks, there are also lots of activities throughout the week, everyone at Watersmead is very welcoming.
The staff at Watersmead are a great bunch of people, they do have time to have a laugh and joke with the residents, and my aunt does enjoy this. The Christmas Party was fun, there is always something going on for them to take part in, I am very pleased we were able to find such a good, friendly place which she feels at home in.
A lovely, welcoming home. My Dad's needs are catered for in a way we can not do at home. He seems content and we are more than happy with his care. He can be difficult sometimes and the staff always do their best when he allows.
My Dad has been at Watersmead Care Home for four years now. We have always felt the care home does a great job caring and providing for his needs. My Dad has dementia. He is a late morning riser and a night wanderer, his routine is catered for and we always feel confident he is in safe hands. The staff are always approachable, helpful and keep us well informed. I would highly recommend Watersmead if you are looking for the transition from home to care home.
I am so pleased that I found Watersmead. The staff are so friendly and my wife has settled in so well. Everyone is so friendly when I go in to see my wife. Thank you all so much.
Mum became a resident nearly 7 years ago, suffering with early dementia, over these years her care needs have grown, this growth has been met and in many ways exceeded by all the fabulous staff. Watersmead is Mum's home, she is treated with respect and love and all her needs are met. It's a place where she has always been happy which makes me and the rest of her family happy. Watersmead is a care home I would highly recommend.
We are very fortunate to have found a care home that looks after our mother so well. All the staff are extremely professional, but also very caring. The staff treat Mum with love and dignity and do their utmost to keep Mum safe, well and happy. Mum has been at Watersmead for some years now and she is treated like a member of their family. We are kept informed about what's going on in Watersmead and are always made welcome.
My mother arrived at Watersmead on the 5th of September 2024. She is gradually settling into the daily routine. The carers are absolutely brilliant with her, nothing is too much trouble. This really gives me peace of mind she is happy and safe 24/7.
My husband has been at Watersmead for 4 months and I am extremely happy with the care he is receiving. He feels that the staff are part of his family and although he has his favourites amongst them, all of the staff are caring, attentive and have enriched his life. His appetite has improved and he really enjoys the social aspect of mealtimes which are always made a special time. He enjoys many of the activities but is equally happy in his room which is always clean and comfortable. As a wife and regular visitor I have been made extremely welcome and I appreciate the fact that the staff are always approachable. My husband has had too short spells in hospital recently and the home managed both his admittance and aftercare very well. My husband has Dementia and the staff are well trained in managing and dealing with this and this is a great comfort to me when I am not with him. I am confident that he is receiving the best care at this home.
I am very pleased with the excellent service my dad gets, he is well looked after and safe. The staff treat you like family. Well done to all.
I am very happy here and well looked after, all the staff are very helpful, it's like having extra family.
My mum has severe dementia, unable to walk or feed herself. In the years Mum has been in Watersmead she has had excellent care. The staff are amazing, they treat Mum with the utmost respect, dignity, compassion and love. Nothing is too much trouble for them, spending time with Mum, making her smile and laugh. Everyone is always available to answer any questions or concerns I may have. The food is nutritious, varied and full of flavour. The chef is more than happy to adjust the menu to accommodate Mum's needs. The entertainment that is put on does everything to stimulate the residents, making them feel part of a happy community. I know Mum is safe and well cared for without me having to worry about her.
The most reliable measure of whether Watersmead performs consistently well is that of my father. Whilst Watersmead is focused on dementia my father, who does not have this condition still calls it home. He knows the staff and often spends time talking to them. He does comment about the food, which is, on occasion not to his taste but his is a very traditional English style of food choice, so things like curries, macaroni cheese etc are not on his list of enjoyable food. I feel confident that when I am not able to visit Dad, he is in safe and caring hands and this is of the utmost importance to me. I know Dad does not usually engage in activities, preferring his own room and watching any kind of gardening or sport programme he can find, but that is usual for Dad so no reflection on the home. I believe I have a good relationship with the home and its staff and I am sure they are only too aware that if something was not right, or I was unhappy about something they would be told!
Staff always friendly and polite, nothing too much problem. Plenty of activities for residents to try and keep them busy. Residents well cared for and always neatly turned out. Always kept informed of the health and wellbeing of my mum.
