View Full Details of The Orchards Residential HomeThe staff at the home have provided Mum with a safe, happy, welcoming environment since she became a resident in August 2024.
My mum moved into The Orchards back in August after being diagnosed with dementia earlier this year. At first, I was very sad that Mum had moved into a care home, but I knew that it was for the best. Now, after five months at The Orchards, it's the best decision we could have made. Mum has settled in very well. The staff are brilliant, Mum is very well looked after 24 hours a day. The care home and staff make you feel very welcome whenever you visit, nothing is too much for them. Well done and a big thank you.
My husband's stepmother was cared for very well at The Orchards. She was treated with courtesy, friendliness and affection. Staff were helpful and supportive of us as a family, and the staffing levels were consistently high. A choice of comfortable lounges meant that sitting in the communal areas was an option for everyone. The Orchards is a well-run home from home; alas Stepmum wasn't well on arrival and couldn't really benefit from the lovely garden and excellent activities but was safe and comfortable in her last months. Food was always well prepared, nutritious and tempting!
Dad's life has turned around since he moved into The Orchards. He has put some weight back on, his skin condition and colour have improved and we are seeing sparks of his old personality and humour. He has made friends and is joining in with some of the activities, which I think are outstanding. Life has really improved for the family too - we have complete confidence in the staff. It's a huge relief to know that he is safe and happy.
As a family, we are so happy we chose The Orchards for Mum. For 5 years, we felt Mum was well cared for and loved by The Orchards team. Felt Mum made some good friends whilst she was there. Always felt welcome, and we have some good memories of happy times, fun and laughter with Mum and cups of tea!
This is an amazing home. My stepmum is so well looked after. Nothing is too much trouble for the carers. The activities are sincerely awesome. So much for her to do and enjoy. We have left knowing she is well looked after and very contented to be at The Orchards.
A great home with a big heart! Mum spent the last 2 years of her life here and enjoyed the warmth and support of staff and fellow residents alike. She enjoyed the community feel of the main lounge where the vibrant and attentive activities team showed love, attention and encouragement even when Mum was having a down day. I always felt welcome and nothing was ever too much trouble for the care team. I commend those in housekeeping, catering and maintenance services who provided superb support 24/7. I live a few hours away and I greatly appreciated being able to call at any time of day and night - the whole management team at The Orchards should be congratulated for the caring culture and family environment which they have created - it has not happened by accident! My sister and I visited the home the day after Mum passed away (at the hospital) - there were tears, hugs, cakes and laughter as we remembered together Mum's 2 years at The Orchards. Thank you all so much.
I find the home very welcoming, warm and friendly. The reception staff are very helpful if you have any questions or concerns. The care staff are very good with my mum, they always greet her with a smile and have a laugh with her, which shows that they have my mum's well-being at heart. The entertainment is fun, and they always encourage my mum to join in with the activities. All the staff at The Orchards are excellent and very hard-working.
Our experience at The Orchards has been excellent from the first day of my husband's care. As a family, we were so anxious about my husband and their father having to go into care. We were welcomed with open arms and kindness. There are always entertaining things for the residents and peacefulness if they prefer. Nothing is too much trouble.
When Mum arrived at the home over 4 years ago, we thought it very likely that she would be very unsettled and miserable. The amazing staff showed so much love, care and attention that she surprised us, settling in so well. The staff were amazing in their level of care, and it was so comforting to know that she was safe and being looked after to a very high standard. The home suppressed itself during the difficult period with COVID and I have so much respect for all of the staff. Thank you again, we couldn't have found anywhere better for Mum's declining years.
The Orchards is a very warm, welcoming and nurturing environment. Staff are very friendly, caring and incredibly hardworking; they have attended to all my nan's needs - nothing is too much trouble. We are so pleased with how well Nan has settled in and with the care she received. Thank you to everyone for all their hard work and dedication.
I was concerned when my mother came into the care home, daughter's concern. As I have found I need not have worried. The staff are lovely. Nothing is too much trouble. My mum is so secure and has fitted in well as she feels so safe. Mum's routine is good and it is showing diabetes controlled. Well done to all the at The Orchards.
I am very impressed with all of the staff and facilities at the Orchard Residental Home. My mother-in-law has been made very welcome by all. A big mention to all the staff who are very friendly. Also, the residents are a nice group of people. My mother-in-law feels really safe.
Mum has been a resident for over 3 years now and is looked after very well by all staff in attendance. The care is delivered consistently well, as my mother has special needs, which brings great comfort to our family.
Attentive and skilful staff. Enough food. Staff accents are sometimes challenging. The bedding should fit the bed and the bed is too big for the room.
The Orchards Residential Home hosted our grandmother's birthday. It was a wonderful afternoon- all staff were friendly and worked so hard to ensure a great celebration! Thank you ever so much for making the day so lovely.
My mother has been a resident for approximately six months. She recently celebrated her 100th birthday. The home made every effort to make it a special day for her. They provided a special cake and decorated the lounge accommodating the family. They were truly amazing. I can't thank them enough.
Mum has lived at The Orchards Residential Home for the past six years. Mum was happy, well-fed, cared for and safe. The manager and the team are always friendly, professional and caring. During the last week of Mum's life, the team were so supportive and loving towards Mum which helped a very emotional and sad time slightly more bearable. Thank you doesn't really say enough but we are thankful for all you did for Mum and for us.
Today I visited my aunt, as always, she looked clean and 'well-fed'. The reception staff on entering are always polite and look happy and also helpful. I also like that there seems to be entertainment and activities happening. Really couldn't fault anything. If I had one wish it would be that my aunt, who I know "helps" wipe tables etc., would love homely tasks, folding towels and preparing food - sandwiches. I know she would feel needed and that she was helping!
I visit my friend twice a week and I find the staff very friendly and caring. They encourage the residents to participate in activities and motivate them to do things.
