View Full Details of Oakwood Rest HomeMy father in law moved into Oakwood towards the end of 2024. I paid a couple of visits beforehand and came away impressed with what I had seen. Meeting the manager, and some of the other staff convinced me that this would be the right move for my father in law. Visits I have made since have confirmed my initial view. The professionalism and care provided is excellent. The home is clean, bright and modern and all the staff I have met do an outstanding job. This is definitely a ten out of ten.
Pleasant and supportive staff who keep you up to date. Staff are always welcoming, kind, warm and caring. They look after the residents with compassion and empathy. Activities and outings are put on for residents to participate and their needs are met. Perhaps the garden needs to be landscaped as soon as possible.
My mum resides in a warm, friendly and caring environment. The staff are professional, supportive and understanding. Mum is happy residing in the care home and gets on well with the staff and other residents. She is able to participate in activities and enjoys going out on day trips organised by the care home.
I have been so happy with the care my mother-in-law has received, it gives me peace of mind knowing she is so well cared for. The staff are friendly and have become mom's friends. I like we can pop in any time which is always reassuring.
I have found the staff are very bad at times but in general be better. I tell them if they are good or bad.
I have found the staff very helpful and cheerful at times.
Staff are very good. I'm happy with my room. Care home is always clean.
The service I have received so far is exemplary.
My aunt had been a resident for nearly 4 years. The care she received was outstanding. It was her home and the staff her family, all of whom are warm and welcoming, so much so that last week when my dad had to go into care, I had no worries when we were lucky enough for Oakwood to become his new home. It is a beautiful, clean and spacious home and I highly recommend it for anyone looking for their loved ones.
I have always found my cousin to be very well looked after at Oakwood Rest Home. The staff are always very attentive and always seem to be there for all the residents' needs. The food always looks very good. Communication is very good and I have always been kept very well informed of my cousin’s differing situations regarding health, medication, etc.
Always room for improvement but overall, a good place to live.
Since my brother moved into Oakwood Rest Home, he has become more settled and happy to be able to just be himself. The management team and all the staff are friendly, helpful and always ready to offer help and advice on any requests or other queries we might have. Since recently moving into the newly refurbished part of the premises, my brother has a lovely en suite bedroom where he can relax and do as much or as little as he likes. I have noticed that he has also become more open to joining in activities with other residents in the communal lounge and quiet room too. I could not wish for a better place for my brother to be a part of.
I visited Oakwood in December when a friend of my nan's was staying for respite. I must admit their Christmas decor was very well presented and they went that extra mile to celebrate with the service users. I felt very welcome and grew tremendous relationships with the staff. They were nothing but warming and caring the whole 15 days. Management very approachable. Food was tasty. I highly recommend this home. The home was a bit old and tired but I could see the new home in progress of being built and this looked beautiful.
My father is a permanent resident at Oakwood. All the staff and management are fantastic and really friendly. Nothing is too much trouble, which helps take away some of the stress and worry, at a difficult time knowing he has 24-hour care and being looked after, as it's not an easy time when you have to make the difficult decision for a parent to have to go into care. They always have the resident's best interests at heart, and provide high-quality care to them. The newly refurbished home is light, modern and welcoming. Thank you to all the staff for the care you provide to my dad.
The new building is amazing, so clean and fresh. Such a welcoming environment, and the staff are lovely too with residents and visitors. My friend is so comfortable at Oakwood. Hats off to the manager.
The new building is fantastic! My mom's room is beautiful and I'm so happy and grateful that the staff put my mom's family photographs out on display. I know my mom will feel very proud to have her children and grandchildren out for everyone to see. I would also like to say that I feel we made the right choice by going to Oakwood Rest Home. The staff are always friendly, approachable, and happy to help you and your family members. It is a real relief to have Oakwood, they have helped remove any concerns.
My mum has lived in Oakwood for the last 7 years. I have always been extremely happy with the care given. Whenever I call, the staff can immediately relate how my Mum is, without needing to go off and read notes/find someone else. The staff are friendly to both residents and relatives. I admire how they speak with respect to residents with dementia.
I would like to thank all the staff at Oakwood Rest Home who have gone out of their way to ensure my father had the best care we could possibly wish for. My father was treated with the most upright respect and his last days were dignified and surrounded by people. The new manager is doing an impeccable job and giving the home the potential it deserves. Thank you to everyone for all your dedication.
Excellent care - lovely to see how much the staff/carers obviously care very much about the residents and their jobs/responsibilities.
Oakwood is a friendly, safe and caring environment. Our uncle has only been at Oakwood for a short time but he has settled in well and feels happy. His sense of wellbeing has really improved.
