View Full Details of The Kenrick CentreMy aunt has been a resident here for approximately four years. She is very well cared for. The staff are always welcoming to visitors and the place is always very very clean. My aunt is encouraged to mobilise with her zimmer frame. She has oedema in her ankles and feet and her skin is very delicate. The staff have managed to prevent leg ulcers by applying cream to the area every day. My Aunt enjoys the meals and is encouraged to drink plenty of fluids. She has a lovely en suite room. She enjoys socialising with the staff and other residents and she tells me that she is happier now than when she was young!
The care was great but when she fell in Kendrick House and was sent to hospital staff was vile. l have mental health problems and the manger said she would not have my mum back because of me and said l was rude, not having my mum's best interest at heart. l said l would not visit then, other than a p2 bed, said the manager had spoken to them regarding to my mum and because of me don't take her, my mum soul is destroyed and staff on reception taking personal calls and doing scratch cards.
My sister was transferred from Hospital to Kendrick Centre, without informing me that they were going to transfer her, and I believe that Kendrick Centre hadn’t been informed that she was arriving. Everyone at the centre were so kind and helpful, they couldn’t do enough to make my sister feel comfortable and at home. During the time she was there, I noticed a difference in my sister, she had put on a little weight, and looked better in herself, although she is 93 and I don’t expect miracles, She was so unsteady on her feet, in fact, she couldn’t stand up alone when she was in Good Hope Hospital, but she did manage to walk with her frame with the nurse close by. So I would just like to thank everyone at Kendrick Centre for what they have done to help my sister.
Stayed on the 2nd floor for 8 weeks. The staff were all kind to me and helped me get through one of the hardest times of my life. I was diagnosed wrongly in hospital and sent there; so was a bit of a shock when I arrived as I had no idea I'd been diagnosed with dementia and Addison's disease. I'm not going to mention names as everyone played their part in my recovery. I've no doubt in my mind I'd be a dead person by now. So if you are worried about a family member staying there, I can tell you wholeheartedly they will be looked after very well. Once again, special thanks to all the people who helped me.
Excellent service, lovely staff, location very nice. Was looked after well. Food was good, though sometimes had to wait 20 mins for it to be dished out, saying that it was warm when served. Select activity groups provided per weekday, was nice to get involved and encouraged by staff to meet new people and try new things out.
