View Full Details of Lucton HouseMom continues to be well cared for and stimulated, not only by the activities but by the simple day to day interactions she has with staff and other residents. It may seem a little thing but the use of her name, asking for her choices from options & explaining things to her are big plus points when it would be so easy not to do them. Testimony to the staff & the ethos of the organisation
Great care home, staff are brilliant and friendly. Couldn't wish for anything better for dad, he has thoroughly enjoyed his time here and has loved the food. Having spent seven weeks on respite here we would definitely be happy for dad to stay permanently if his circumstances change.
My Mother has recently gone to Lucton house. She has found the staff to be very kind and polite to her. She is making new friends and is enjoying all aspects of the care she is having. From going to view Lucton house to settling my Mother in her apartment the support received from all the staff has been appreciated.
Lucton House is a comfortable, homely building . When our loved one first moved into Lucton House a couple of years ago , we couldn't fault the place . Unfortunately the last 12 months the place has gone down hill. There is such a high turnover of staff & I think this needs to be looked into why this is happening. Something we are disappointed with is our loved one being dressed in clothes that don't belong to them. I think it's really important to respect a persons identity & by dressing them in other people's clothes /shoes is not respectful at all. All clothes are labelled and each residents clothes should be washed individually to prevent cross contamination & clothes getting lost /mixed up. On a few occasions the bathroom in our loved one's room has been left dirty & messy , with dirty pads thrown in the bath & clean pads hanging over the bathroom door! Our loved one seems comfortable there , it's just a shame things of changed .
Visits to my sister are not getting easier because of her Alzheimer's disease. However, I was surprised to find, when I arrived at 12.30pm that her bed didn't look fully made and there was a smell of urine in the room. I went in to the bathroom and found a pile of dirty clothes ready for washing.
I would like to thank one staff member in particular for her organisation and enthusiasm for our church service today Friendly, helpful, welcoming.
My mum has lived here for over a year now. I was worried about the transition from living in her own home to being in residential care, but the staff have made her so very welcome and have a genuine affection for Mum, so my worries have eased. Mum says that she feels lucky to be here. She has a pleasant flat which is kept clean and fresh. Food is cooked on the premises with great care and attention. If issues arise staff listen and make changes. There have been some lovely variety of activities and events this December to make Christmas special.
I was very happy today 25th December 2024 the 2 young men who looked after Dad today had a warm smile and I felt very happy leaving him in their care, these 2 young men had a smile, a warmth not just doing a job but seemed to enjoy looking after the ones in their care. I felt comfortable leaving my dad today even though I am sad to do this but him being looked after is our main concern that he is treated with respect and dignity. It is not a 9 to 5 but a genuine care and love for those they look after. I love the way they talk to him, giving him the respect due. I felt a bit of joy today as I saw the way they handled our dad showing that they enjoy what they do. Sometimes it's hard to judge at face value but I felt in myself that they cared for him. Even though we left I felt that they enjoyed looking after their patients with a smile and laughter, which was not false To be made sure he is treated as though he is their family as well. It's just not a job but a vocation of love.
I have been visiting a good friend for the last number of months. I am very impressed by how comfortable and homely I find it at Lucton House. The flat is really lovely and my friend is very happy living here. I have seen a great improvement in her wellbeing and I know she enjoys the food provided. She is all in all much better living here in such lovely surroundings after leaving her lovely home. The staff are always very helpful also.
I just want to thank the staff at Lucton House who have gone above and beyond to help me maintain my relationship with my mum who is a resident at Lucton House, even though I live in another time zone across the world. All the staff know my mum and are friendly and kind. It is lovely to Mum is being cared for and I love the photos, that show involved in activities. Can't thank you enough.
Unfortunately, I visit my mother only once a month so it is difficult to be totally objective. However, I am helped by relatives and friends who have visited. I continue to be amazed at the dedication and care provided by staff at Lucton House. They di go above and beyond. It is a great environment and I always feel comfortable leaving my mother in their capable hands. I just think more inventions could help activities.
Generally, the environment and the residents are very well cared for. I do not see meals as I am not visiting then but drinks and snacks served between are good. My friend has never complained about the food. I do not have any concerns with management and I am not involved in funding so I cannot comment on this. I have visited a number of homes over the years and would rate Lucton House as one of the best.
Mom has been here since April 2024, she was a bit apprehensive at first but managed to settle after a couple of weeks. To date Mom is now very happy, she loves the food, activities and company. The staff are a credit to Lucton House. Mom is very fond of them all. Overall we are happy with the care she receives which is one less worry for us.

Following an accident, Lucton House has welcomed my husband and has provided comfortable accommodation and nutritious food. The home is well managed and runs in a friendly manner. Caring staff are helpful and available!
Since Dad has been at Lucton House he is a changed man. He is doing things that he has never done before, like colouring, painting, participating in the general activities. I don't know how the staff manage to get him to agree! Because I can't. Dad is looked after very well and I know that if anything was wrong, I would always get a call from one of the staff. They are all very pleasant and there is always someone around should you need help. They have even helped me when I was struggling with everything that was going on, which I am so grateful for. They are like my second family. Keep it up! and thank you.
I visit my friend on a regular basis and she is always happy and in good spirits. She has no complaints about the home. She says the food is good. She enjoys spending most of her time in the common room, as she likes being in company. She gets on well with all the staff.
