View Full Details of Bablake HouseMy father and step mother moved in last year. From the first phone call to enquire about a double room, the staff have been just wonderful Their room is beautifully decorated and clean. There are plenty of activities on offer should they wish to join in.Sadly they don t ! As a family we are delighted with the standard if care and support for us.
My mum has been a resident of Bablake House for over four years. She is very happy there and has a lovely room. The main benefit is the staff who are lovely and very helpful. Another plus is Mum likes to stay in her room, she likes reading, knitting and watching her own television and at Bablake House, she is able to do that.
Quite a pleasant stay. I would recommend it to my friends.
Mum unfortunately cannot live with my family anymore, due to complex health needs. Knowing that she is being well cared for by the team at Bablake House is a huge relief for me and my family. She is warm and well fed and the carers are all sensitive to her needs. The home was recommended by a colleague of mine, and I would recommend it to others as well.
My mother has been living at Bablake House since January 2023. Due to deteriorating ill health and lack of family members to keep her independent, I had to make the tough decision to find her a safe and comfortable care home. The senior staff members have been a constant support for both her and myself. Nothing is too much trouble and they've helped us physically and mentally. The domestic staff have been constant throughout her stay and they know her individual likes and dislikes, helping her to navigate her TV viewing. The support staff in the main are a constant too making interaction easy, on a first-name basis. This home is the closest to real life that I found throughout a thorough search. The food is cooked on-site and was a major factor in our choice as many homes only offer pre-packed meals. As my mother's condition declines with each week/month, the home has helped me to cope with this and I know that when I can't be with her, she is safe, warm and well cared for.
My aunt had been living alone for many years, though with increasing mobility problems and memory issues after a fall and eight weeks in hospital and on step-down support, it was clear she needed full-time residential care and though she only moved into Bablake House in early May 2024, we've been very pleased with the support she's receiving. Whenever we visit, all the staff are cheery and seem happy in their work and we've seen first-hand that my aunt receives regular visits in her room. The staff are trying hard to encourage her to come out of her room and join others in the lounge or dining room, as have we: no joy yet but it's not for want of trying on their part. All the staff are helpful and supportive and her care is proactive - realising she's tending to lie on the bed too long, my aunt now has a pumped air mattress to protect her, even before we could ask if it might be needed: that's real care and attention.
My mum has been a resident of Bablake House Care Home for approximately two years, and I can't rate them highly enough. The team are always friendly and happy to help with any worries I may have. My mum is happy and content and feels at home. If there have been issues, the team contact us straight away and fills us in with all the details and how they are going to proceed with it. The events they have in the care home are fun. You are doing a great job. Thank you. My mum's room always looks lovely with special little touches to show who has cleaned it cares.
My father had deteriorated in the hospital over several weeks - his dementia worsened and mobility reduced to nil. The moment he arrived at Bablake House, he was in a much better place in terms of well-being. The staff were all caring and have the residents' best interests at heart. The home feels like a home and the team did everything possible to help my father. I cannot speak highly enough about this home.
Excellent care, support and help for Mum to rehabilitate in order to facilitate her return home, plus the support to her husband, two daughters, friends and family on visiting.
Everyone is so friendly and helpful.
Exceptionally dedicated Directors and staff. My husband as well as all the other residents couldn't be better cared for. As an essential caregiver, I am visiting the home every day for at least 4 hours and I feel that I can pass judgement. The home is comfortable and exceeds all expectations also in view of cleanliness and food provisions. Entertainment is provided daily.
My father was taken to this home for respite after being in hospital. I hated him being here and if there was an option to have removed him sooner we would have done. Staff were slow to respond to his needs or that of other residents, staff were often nowhere to be seen and there was a number of occasions where I had to intervene when residents were in trouble an example of this was on a Saturday evening where one resident had taken something off another one, there were threats and concerning behaviour so I went to find a carer and there were none about so I had to calm the situation down. When I complained to the manager she responded with "I'm not even meant to be working tonight". My dad was unhappy here often left in a circle of ladies despite me telling them on a number of occasions that my dad was a man's man. The final straw was when I overheard the supervisor say when patting the dog of a visitor that she'd much rather be around animals than people!
Bablake house is a wonderful care home with staff who are always very happy in their work and make the residents feel really at home. Every aspect of Bablake is really welcoming. The food they provide is excellent. Managers and staff are always available with a smile and you feel that you can always talk to them. All in all a wonderful caring place.
My aunt was admitted to Bablake House pending assessment following a stay in hospital. I was impressed with the pleasant atmosphere in the home. Everywhere was clean and fresh smelling. The room my aunt was given was light, cheerful and comfortably furnished. The lounge areas were pleasant, and there were more than one television lounge as well as areas where there was no television for those who didn't want to watch TV. The food was very good and I was impressed that residents were encouraged and helped to eat together at the table, giving a sense of community. The home was well staffed and the staff were very kind and caring. Specialist staff in areas of medical care and therapists were also available. Recommendations to increase my aunt's comfort such as raising the armchairs where she sat were quickly implemented. In the run-up to Christmas, the home was beautifully decorated and there were a number of activities to entertain residents. I thoroughly recommend Bablake House.
The Manager, carers, cleaner, dining room staff, could not have been kinder. They gave 100% to a person who could be difficult and friendly. They also supported the friends who visited, made time to listen when they themselves were working under pressure. A lovely care home.
My mother has been a resident here since January 2019. Prior to her arrival, when visiting the home to look at the facilities and care given, I was welcomed by the Assistant Manager, who was very friendly and caring towards the residents. I was shown a couple of rooms to look at which are spacious and well equipped. My first impression was that it was a very welcoming care home. Since my mother has resided here, she has received excellent care. All the staff interact with the residents. There are activities taking place every morning and afternoon, which helps to engage and stimulate the different needs of each resident. The staff are very friendly and welcome all visitors. They are very professional and I can link into the home at any time which shows exactly what my mother has done each day, for example, cleanliness, food and drink consumed, activities participated in and all other aspects of her daily life in the home. I would recommend this care home without hesitation.
My mother has been a resident of Bablake House since early January this year and she has, so far, received wonderful care. The staff are kind and attentive to the residents and have always welcomed me as a visitor. The home has a lovely cosy feel to it and the Relative's Gateway is a wonderful way for me to see how my mother is doing between visits.
My mum was sent to Bablake House after a short stay in hospital to recuperate. Sadly mum has deteriorated and we requested that she become a resident there. The management and staff are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble and everything is done with a smile. How refreshing to find somewhere so lovely for my mum. The home sparkles with cleanliness and the staff really care. Everyone makes time to ensure that all my mum's needs are catered for.
The staff are very helpful and professional and genuinely care about their clients who all seem very happy and enjoying their stay.
My aunt was admitted to Bablake after a spell in hospital. From day one myself and family have been very impressed with the high standard of care that my aunt has received from everyone there. The staff and management are all very approachable about any questions that we have and are always available if needed. Since my aunt has been assessed and found to be no longer able to live at home we have been able to get her permanent residence much to the relief of my mother who now knows that my aunt is having round the clock care. My aunt is now well settled in at Bablake and in her own words no longer wants to go back home!
