View Full Details of Beechwood GardensI am impressed and reassured by the high standard of care over the last 6-months for my mum (who has a variety of care needs). She is well looked after, and the staff are patient and kind. They talk to and engage with her one-to-one, and there are activities and entertainment too. Many thanks.
Ever since my mother-in-law was admitted she has been treated with love and respect by an incredibly caring staff of whom l cannot speak too highly. Management is empathetic and extremely efficient. My mother-in-law simply could not be in better hands.
I am confident that my mother is in good hands. The staff are always very helpful. It's easy to get in touch by phone whenever l wish to speak to a staff member. I did not select a star rating for food and drinks because l don't know. Overall l am pleased and confident that my mother is in good hands.
Whenever I visit my mother at Beechwood Gardens I am heartened by the attention and consideration given to the residents by the care staff. My mother suffers from dementia and in her more lucid phases, she often says “they” are all nice people”, smiling at them as they pass her chair. I always feel that my mother is in a safe environment. It’s good to see that the home has been redecorated during the past year and it seems generally brighter. It’s reassuring that the adherence to having visitors submit to a lateral flow test before entering the premises has continued throughout the pandemic.
Beechwood care home is very understanding, very polite, always answer the phone. Always there to give advice. They do lots of activities with the residents and I’m really pleased that my mum is being looked after by Beechwood Care Home.
My Mum entered the carehome during the first lockdown. Since then she has been well cared for. During the lockdown, the home did everything to help our family have contact with Mum who suffers from dementia. The care staff do a wonderful job in sometimes difficult scenarios which I have witnessed when visiting. They always show such kindness to the residents. There are activities for the residents and hairdressing. I know if I speak to any staff they listen to me. They always keep me informed about mum and her health if needed.
I think we are so lucky that mum is being cared for by Beechwood Gardens. Beechwood Gardens has the best manager I have come across (I inspected care and nursing homes for a living when I was Head of Primary Care Commissioning in the Midlands). The care staff are 100% wonderful. They are truly amazing people and it has renewed my faith in humanity visiting the home this month.
Overall everything seems to be as expected. Due to covid, it's difficult to give a proper review under the circumstances.
Beechwood is not purpose-built but has been adapted as a care home. There is a rolling programme of improvements to individual rooms, communal space, garden space. Standard of maintenance and cleanliness are good. Within reason, personal tastes can be accommodated; eg my brother enjoys a Chinese meal. Manager and staff keep me informed on health and important matters eg, it helps me to know when items of clothing need to be replaced. I know attention has been paid to my brother's particular disabilities though Covid restrictions means some plans are on hold (sourcing help from local resources for the blind). Normal range of activities has been disrupted, severe restrictions on visiting has been hard. There have seen staff changes, but I see that carers are patient, try to understand my brother and make him comfortable.
The care shown towards my father-in-law has been exemplary. They are considerate and the carers treat him with the utmost respect and dignity. Without a doubt, I would have no hesitation in recommending Beechwood Gardens to anyone.
Very attentive care for my mother in her last year of life. Every effort was made to make her comfortable and to anticipate her every need. The carers were all very patient and warm and friendly. My Mum had a very peaceful death.
The staff here are superb and take exceptional care of my father. He has a number of health issues and difficulties and they cater to them the best they can. They rub cream in his legs (which are very red, sore and swollen) and ensure he raises them as often as possible. He is the youngest resident and they do all they can to engage him, playing music he likes and dancing with him. My dad has a genuine love for the staff in spite of his dementia and has true moments of happiness thanks to them.
My Nan has been at Beechwood Gardens since the summer of 2017 after a brief hospital stay and due to her dementia needs. I was unsure at first about her being in a care home as I didn't have any experience with them. When my nan arrived she was reluctant to be there which made it hard, over a couple of weeks she soon settled. I'm always made to feel welcome on visits and offered tea and biscuits, they also make my children feel at ease. Over the last few months, I have noticed a massive difference in the home, the decorating has helped and it's so nice to see the gallery of pictures of all residents taking parts in the activities that are provided. My nan is doing so well here and that's down to the care and patience of all the staff, she has her favourites (they know who they are). I would like to thank you all for the love and support you show towards my nan.
The staff at Beechwood Gardens are amazing. They are friendly, kind, thoughtful and so caring. I don't have any worries that my dad is there and know he is being cared for with dignity and respect.
Since my dad has been in this care home he has been made to feel very welcome. The staff are very caring and nothing is too much trouble. They also understand how difficult it is for my mum to deal with the emotional turmoil of having her husband in care and are very kind and sympathetic to her needs too.
My Auntie was here for a week respite to allow my Uncle time to rest after being her full-time carer. I visited twice within that week and found the home to be extremely pleasant. Staff were welcoming and accommodating, management were approachable and I even met the owners and found them to be delightful (especially their Dog 'Bisto' who apparently visits the home with them 3 times a week). The room was basic but clean and well organised, but I was informed that they were due to begin redecorating within the next few weeks so I look forward to visiting when my Aunt is next there to see what they've done with the room. My Aunt has been in other homes during periods of respite but we will definitely not be going anywhere else in future. It was a breath of fresh air to visit a home and see care staff who invest so much of their time with the residents. Honestly cannot praise this home enough! From the bottom of our hearts, Thank You!
I visited my grandmother here for the first time in January and was pleasantly surprised. Not what I expected at all, however it was very homely and clean. The staff made me feel welcome and offered me hot drinks with biscuits throughout the duration of my stay. I met the manager and deputy manager who welcomed me with open arms and informed me that I could approach them at any time without the need to make an appointment. They allowed me time to talk about my gran and I left feeling like they really cared about not only my gran but me as well. I cannot fault the home, nor the staff and would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a home with patient staff who put the 'care' back into care homes.
I came to Beechwood Gardens for respite care after a hospital stay. It soon became clear that I would need to stay in residential care due to my health problems. I decided, along with my family, to stay at Beechwood. The care and respect the staff show to me and all residents is excellent.

The care home is not too big and the staff and management are very friendly and make the residents feel at home as much as possible. Because the home is not too big you see and get to know the staff. The meals provided are of good quality and wholesome with a good selection throughout the week. My mother has settled in very well.
