View Full Details of Cordelia CourtMy dad, has vascular dementia which can manifest at times as challenging behaviour. We as a family prioritise the quality of care at the top of our list, and are very pleased to say that we have found the staff to be kind, considerate and sensitive to his needs, even when he is experieincing 'low days' and being disruptive. My dad has stayed twice at Cordelia Court to facilitate respite care for his wife for several week periods and is scheduled back there later next month. On the few occasions when we have raised a question, concern or query with the home they have been prompt to hear and take appropriate action. I would be straining at the truth if I described the food as Michelin star standard, but it is certainly adequate - my dad is not a big eater, but even if he were, he would not go hungry. On the last occasion my dad was in the home a new member of staff had been appointed to focus on activities and entertainment for the residence - a challenging but necessary task.
The staff are always very pleasant and caring. They have looked after mum very well, and whenever we visit nothing seems to be too much trouble. They contact us whenever there has been an issue, so we are very pleased overall.
My dad had been in this home for at least 18 months. The staff have been amazing, looking after all his needs. They were very supportive to all the family especially when he was nearing the end of his life, helping to make him as comfortable as possible and could not have asked for more care and support that they gave to us over the ensuing 26 hours to his passing. Would highly recommend this home for great levels of care and support.
My dad finally had to go into a care home following a fall and sadly he couldn't get walking again. My dad was very particular about how he liked things to be done and the care staff were very understanding. The manager and the deputy manager went above and beyond to make sure Dad was comfortable. My dad sadly passed away in April day after his 92nd birthday but the staff went above and beyond to ensure he was comfortable and we all felt fully supported. They really could not have done more.
After a difficult few months and a lot of soul searching, I decided it was time to reach out to respite for my mum. We had a few disappointing letdowns but eventually rang Cordelia Court Care Home. Right from the first time I spoke to the manager I knew I was doing the right thing. With no hesitation at all the manager and another member of staff came out to access my mum! They were caring and completely professional and made me feel my mum would be safe in their hands. Mum had a two-week stay there with the best care and attention I could never thank them enough for! Kind, caring and compassionate, every member of the staff was amazing. I would recommend Cordelia Court for care any day! And would if needs be, send Mum there for respite care again. Thank you so much, everyone!
I have found the staff and management to be extremely helpful in looking after my mum. It was an incredibly difficult time when my dad passed away. They helped tremendously with the transition and settling in period. They have provided video calls in the height of the Coronavirus pandemic. Mum takes part in the activities they provide for the residents and they regularly send photos to show what they are doing. It is a great comfort to see Mum engaging and smiling. I have nothing but good things to say about the care Mum is receiving.
From the time we viewed the home, we knew it was the right place for Dad and even though he was in there for only a short time we could not fault the service he got, the team are all amazing and our family cannot thank them enough.
On Friday, July 9th it will be 12-months since my wife joined the family of residents and carers at Cordelia Court. From day one, with the care and compassion shown by the manager and the care staff, she quickly became settled as a “member” of her new family and was soon to join the many activities organised by the care staff - always with a smile on her face. Throughout those 12-months the care staff have always gone that “extra mile” and continually provided me with updates using emails, photos and short videos and in so doing have made my “loss” easier to bear in the knowledge that my wife is safe, cared for and very happy in her surroundings. Thank you for everything that is Cordelia Court!
My mum was discharged from hospital to Cordelia Court in April, just as Covid restrictions were easing so we were able to visit after her isolation period, after a negative Covid test on each visit, wearing PPE. I was worried about her going into a care home. But I soon felt reassured with the excellent care she received from all staff members. Nothing was ever too much trouble, the senior members of staff were excellent, sending photos and videos of Mum doing activities. Mum was discharged home this week (mid-June) and is doing really well.
My father was admitted into this home from the hospital for a number of weeks. He is now back home but during his time there he was looked after extremely well. The staff and manager couldn't do enough for him and kept me informed constantly by telephone, email and even sent pictures of him interacting with everyone. I would definitely recommend this home.
The staff have been exceptionally kind, understanding, helpful and supportive to both my husband and myself since we have been here. I cannot thank them enough for everything they have done and enabled us to do. It is, in effect, a second home. I thank them from the bottom of my heart.
My mother-in-law is extremely well looked after. The staff are really friendly with my mother-in-law. I feel that my mother-in-law is safe compared to previous homes that she has been in, personal care is excellent. I feel that she is well looked after and I’m extremely grateful as it puts myself and my husband at ease. Communication with Cordelia court is excellent and hygiene and PPE is always in place especially through Covid. Thank you to all the excellent staff.
My mother was resident in Cordelia Court for 12 months until her very sad passing. During that time she was looked after to the highest standard and every need was seen to. I cannot express, how pleased I was with the staff and management who looked after her during her time. I would highly recommend this establishment for all your needs and have peace of mind that whoever is staying here will be cared for without worry. All the staff were excellent in their care and attention for my mother. They made her stay enjoyable and easy - the best they could give. Many thanks from bottom of my heart.
My mother initially went to Cordelia Court in April 2020 for respite. My mother has dementia and we had no experience or knowledge of any other care home. As a family we are really pleased we were offered this place and my mum is now a permanent resident. The staff are very caring and we can see that my mum is happy where she is, she does activities daily that she would never have done at home. With the current situation the staff and manager have been very supportive of keeping in touch with us, keeping us up to date and facilitating visits wherever possible. We are very happy and very thankful for all of the hard work the staff are doing to care for my mum and protect the residents from coronavirus.
My Mum has been in Cordelia Court since Easter Monday, at first for respite care during this difficult time due to covid 19 and the home been on lockdown. When I phone to see how Mum is doing, it doesn’t matter how busy they are the manager and her team always find the time to talk to me and keep me in the loop regarding Mums care, including any changes that have been made by her GP. They have even sent me photos of Mum joining in the activities. I have peace of mind about Mum being there, they are a great team and she gets the best of care. I can’t thank them enough and I am truly grateful for everything they do.
Cordelia Court has had a new manager in recent months and since then there has been an obvious improvement in the running of the home. In particular, I have had more communication from the manager/staff in the past three months than I had received over the previous two years. In addition, over this particularly difficult time, the manager has managed to introduce Skype calls so that we might see our relatives. My father has recently been in hospital and they were very anxious to have him back so that they might ensure that his mobility did not decline too much and they are working on this with him. Whilst the current fabric of the building is excessively tired, there is a large building project taking place and I hope they will use this opportunity to upgrade the bedrooms/en-suites at the same time. The upstairs bedrooms are very poorly ventilated, they have sloping ceilings and vellum windows where the opening is restricted, in the current hot weather they must be almost unbearable.
My grandmother has been a resident at Cordelia Court for a number of months now and has received excellent care. Her health and well-being has improved amazingly and she has now settled in. The room is lovely and light and airy. All the sitting rooms and shared areas are bright and clean and comfortable. The choice of food and snacks is really good as well. All the staff are very efficient and caring. I would recommend Cordelia Court to anyone looking for a friendly, professionally run care home. The staff communication to my family has been excellent - they really are a wonderful bunch.
My dad had to go into Cordelia Court as an emergency. The home is spotless and all the staff were so kind and supportive to us as a family as well as my dad. He is now settled and happy and everyone is so kind. They have lovely comfortable rooms and Dad is eating well. They have activities for the residents to enjoy and take part in and a lovely quiet lounge if you prefer to visit and have a little privacy. I feel so much happier knowing my dad is cared for and looked after so well. He is safe and happy.
I am very pleased with the care my grandad has received during his stay. He was taken in as an emergency and has complex needs which were handled professionally and efficiently. We as a family were devastated that he had to go in a home but the staff have been amazing, kind and caring.
My Mum became a resident in a very poorly state. Mum had been confined to her bed and flat and very isolated for at least 6 years. The Manager assessed my Mum and could have been forgiven for thinking Mum was going to be hard work but she did not turn her back on her and saw the potential. The staff soon had Mum up dressed in the lounge communicating and joining in with the activities. Within a couple of months, Mum was out of the wheelchair and walking with the Zimmer frame. We felt, as a family, the staff worked miracles with Mum and we thank the Manager and Mum's key worker and all of the staff for giving us our Mum back. Sadly Mum had a stroke, was admitted to hospital and then discharged under end of life care. As a family, we spent our last day and night with Mum. We cannot speak highly enough about the staff on duty that day/night and how they supported us as a family during that emotional day/night but more importantly treated our Mum with such care and dignity.
