View Full Details of Grove HouseThe staff are always caring. Very clean home. I feel the care for my mother during her stay over the 3.5 years has been done with high care and dignity. The stay are always friendly with the residents.
My mum has been in Grove House for the past 4 years. The care given to Mum has been excellent. Nothing has been too much for them. During Mum's final days, the support and care for us alongside Mum has been amazing. Not sure how we would have coped without everyone at Grove House. Mum has always been spotless. Cannot thank them enough.
I needed to get my mother into a home in March 2020, covid lockdown! I know about Grove House and they agreed to help on a respite basis, this turned into long-term until her death there in November 2023. My main concern was her care and I can say the staff are fantastic and she got great care there. The home itself shows signs of wear but is neglected in the price. A positive experience and no corporate rubbish.
Really professional and friendly home, my mother has thrived there, lovely family atmosphere, and staff are amazing with my mum, she has a lovely story to tell me about her day every time we come in.
As a care home, staff give 100% care, as a family of a service user we look upon the team as an extended family. Our dad passed away June 13th after 16 months in Grove House. We've spent many hours within the home and will continue to do so. We always recommend Grove House to anybody looking to place a family member. We have zero faults with Grove House.
Very pleased with the whole experience. My brother was treated with kindness and care during his 10-week stay. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble for the staff in making him feel at home. He left with happy memories of his time here.
My Mother has been a resident at Grove House for over 2 years and the care she has received is little short of exemplary. They have looked after Mum with complete dignity. Nothing is too much trouble. They have given me information quickly regarding any health issues and carried out both her and our wishes at all times. Unfortunately, she passed away on March 3rd. But every member of staff went beyond what was expected and made the experience easier to bear. Thanks to everyone at Grove House.
After a fall, with a broken limb, the care given to me was very good. I felt safe and gradually able to reclaim my independence, to return to my assisted living flat, which was my goal. The meals were excellent and definitely helped my recuperation.
Just a wonderful environment whenever I call to see Mum. Staff are always cheerful and helpful.
My mother came here in May this year for six weeks of respite care. She arrived feeling very scared and didn't want to leave her room. All the staff made her feel really welcome and encouraged her to come down to the lounge. She now spends all her time downstairs and loves all the staff, joining in all the activities provided. The gardens are lovely and we enjoy taking her outside on a warm day to look at the flowers and trees. Mum loves the food and cakes are always there at tea time. Hopefully mum will stay on to enjoy the rest of her years. Couldn't ask for more - well done!
Grove House is a lovely home for its residents. My auntie was welcomed into the Grove House family by staff and other residents. She never stopped telling us about how caring the staff were and how good the food was. My auntie also enjoyed the lovely gardens. Our thanks to the whole team.
Care home not fit for purpose. Very dirty and very dated management will ban you if you complain. I have reported them to CQC about excrement in my mother's fingernails and mouldy food under her bed and when I raised concerns they email me and said I was not welcome to visit my mother any more as they will not accept criticism. Place smells of urine. I have requested my mother's transfer from this inadequate care facility as I fear for her welfare. Untrained inexperienced staff. Irregular meal times. Not meeting dietary requirements. Patient neglect. No safeguarding in place. Random people walking around without signing in or ID checks prior to entry. 1 star is generous, but no star is not an option. Should be closed down.
In the 12-months my mum was a resident in the home, she was happy and well cared for. Due to Covid-19, I was unable to go inside the home - I had outside visits. I did get to go inside the home and see my mums rooms at the end.
Was always willing to help. Keep us informed on all to do with mum, happy to help us with anything we needed to know. Staff were happy and helpful. Very nice home.
My mother was accepted into Grove House initially for three weeks respite care after a stay in hospital and subsequent return home. Her general fitness was poor and management of her medication erratic. During her stay, she put on weight, regained her mental capacity and her fitness improved, her stay was extended by a further two weeks. We found the staff to be diligent, caring and helpful. My mother was well treated, respected and looked after in a way that meant what had been sole responsibility was now shared with people we trusted.
Mum has been a resident for 11 months. She settled in very well. We are more than happy with her placement at Grove House.
My mum has been a resident for 18 months and the care she receives is very good. She is treated with dignity at all times. The meals they receive are cooked on site and offer choices every day. It's not her 'home' but is as near as one could get.
When my mum came down from County Durham when she could no longer look after herself, I tried to find somewhere comfortable and homely. Grove nursing home does all of that and more. Really good staff who are well managed. Keep up the good work. Thank you all.
First impressions a year ago, when I urgently needed respite for my mother as I was going on holiday were correct... Homely, fresh smelling, lovely day rooms, two overlooking a lovely, large garden. I spoke to a resident there who said that the food was good - and it is! The staff could not be more pleasant and helpful. Value for money is excellent. Mum looks on it as a holiday (respite). I get a break, Mum T.L.C. too - great!
My Uncle was discharged from hospital for respite care. On arrival he was unable to walk following a hip fracture, his condition was poor, and he'd been discharged with bedsores. The Manager clearly leads her team by example. They have been caring, supportive and helpful both to my Uncle and I. As a result he is now able to walk a little distance, (though at 95 it is unlikely he will ever walk unsupported). His skin is now in a better condition, and he looks so much more like his "old self!" This definitely is due to the care he has been given at Grove House.
