View Full Details of Wordsley HallWe cannot thank the staff enough for the love, care and respect they have shown mum. We have spent many hours at Wordsley Hall and have nothing but praise for the staff. Everyone works together as a team and nothing is too much trouble. We did have one issue and upon raising our concerns we couldn't have asked for more understanding and the problem was dealt with immediately. It gives us peace of mind to know Mum is in such good hands, it feels like one big family and staff genuinely care. The meals smell and look lovely and the scones with cream and jam looked delicious. We will be forever grateful for all the kindness we have received at such a difficult time. I wish your wages reflected the hard work that this profession requires. A big thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My husband has Dementia with Alzheimer's. After caring for him 24/7 for a 4 year period. I could no longer give him the care he needed and deserved. Wordsley Hall made his transition with love and care. They have gone over and above my expectations and my wonderful husband has settled beautifully. Thank you to management and the excellent staff who treat us both with the utmost kindness and respect.
I have family in Wordsley Hall and I feel the standards are below average. I was given a cup of tea in a cracked cup which should have been thrown away. Also, the sitting room furniture upstairs has seen better days. I have found the staff to be rude and unprofessional and I hope and pray that I won’t end up in Wordsley Hall.
My sister is 86 and has been in Wordsley Hall Care Home since January 2018. She has had dementia for ten years. Since being in the care home she lost the use of her legs after 12 months. She sits in a chair all day. She lost a lot of weight and she eats and drinks very little. When she went into Wordsley Hall her fees were £3,100, now it's £4,641.14. It has cost her over 200 thousand pounds and now her funds are low. Her house has to be sold to pay for her care. How can they justify that for a month?
My sister has been in Wordsley Hall for 5 1/2 years now and has never had a which is a miracle as two people passed away in there two years ago. They also shut down the home if any illness occurs or isolate them. If we have any queries they soon deal with them with no problem. The worry we have now is my sister's money is running out. She has paid in full all these years and could be moved to a cheaper home and and we don't want that.
Excellent Care Home
My dad has been in Wordsley Hall for over six months. We as a family think we made the right decision in moving him there from a previous care home. The staff and management are really caring and always happy to help with anything at all. He is very happy and we can't ask for anything more. Big thanks to the manager and the team.
The staff are always kind and compassionate. The staff are doing activities and show pictures when I visit. The staff always keep me informed of all decisions. My sister always looks clean, tidy and happy. Wordsley Hall is one of the best care homes my sister has been in.
We have found Wordsley Hall to be a very good care home, having experiences of other homes for relatives with stroke/dementia diagnosis in the past. The past homes have been a bit more "modern", and everything had to be "just so", with less freedom for residents to do as they please, within reason. Wordsley Hall, on the other hand, is a more "old fashioned" residence, which we think creates a better atmosphere as its more what residents are used to. The residents are allowed to do as they please as long as it's safe and within reason to do so. The staff are always friendly, and the care is "second to none" with very good management and housekeeping. Nothing is too much trouble for them.
My sister has been a resident for two years I am quite satisfied with her care and all the carers are friendly and approachable.
We are extremely grateful to all the staff at Wordsley Hall that have looked after our aunt since January 2021. A special thank you to the manager, for all her support on what was an extremely difficult time for us. All staff are caring and hard working. Nothing was too much trouble and we felt happy having our aunt here as the communication was excellent. Big thank you to the member of staff who was amazing with my aunt, making her smile and two other members of staff, for keeping us updated on a day to day basis which meant a lot to us with not being able to visit, due to Covid restrictions. Also a massive thank you to the careworker at the end of her life, giving us support and keeping us in the loop and being with her, until her last breath. I would not hesitate in recommending this care home - all the staff team should be proud of themselves. For everyone who knew my aunt, she would say “Thank you” with a smile.
Both of my parents have lived in Wordsley Hall since last September. Both have received excellent care since then, and the manager and staff have done everything possible to ensure their health and well-being. Nothing is too much trouble. It has been difficult with the pandemic, but throughout this period, I couldn't have asked any more. I can call any time, night or day, for an update on my parents, and I am very happy with all aspects of care given.
My mom has been a resident at Wordsley Hall for a couple of years. She absolutely loves it there. The staff are amazing. They are very friendly and the care is excellent. I must mention the manager, she is the heart of the home. She is fun and is extremely uplifting. I really don't have to worry about my mom as she is loved and looked after so well. Would highly recommend.
The strength of Wordsley Hall is the staff, carers, cooks, cleaners, all treat the residents with kindness, dignity and respect to create a caring, homely environment.
We dreaded making the decision to find a care home for Dad and worried how he would deal with it. Instead of the problems we were certain would happen, he felt at home straight away and this is only thanks to all the fabulous people who work at Wordsley Hall, especially the manager, who went above and beyond to ensure he felt comfortable. There are no visiting times, you are made to feel welcome no matter when you visit. Wordsley Hall just has a lovely happy feel about it, something you can't buy but can only create with staff who truly have the residents happiness and wellbeing as a number one priority. Care homes can get a bad name in the news but they don't tell the story of families like us who are just so truly grateful for the work people do to make residents feel happy and at home. Knowing Dad is well cared for has allowed us as a family to breath a big sigh of relief. So thank you to the manager and everyone at Wordsley Hall. You are all such amazing people and we thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
My aunty has not been very well in and out of hospital then back to Wordsley Hall. All the staff are very helpful, keep me informed and go out of their way for my aunty and myself. The home itself is a very happy place with lots going on for the residents. I cannot praise Wordsley Hall enough. I have dealt with many homes over the years and would recommend this home to anyone.
Always kind, respectful, very clean. My husband always looks clean and smart, is mostly cheerful. I am very satisfied with all aspects of his care. The only thing is the lack of stimulant for the residents.
My father has only just become resident at Wordsley Hall but so far he has been well looked after. Staff very helpful and efficient.
This time last week on May 7th 2016 my mom died, the sadness was unexplainable. The only way I managed to cope was by the kindness shown to me my dad and more importantly my mom. The day staff and night staff were so kind, nothing was to too much trouble for them. They showed kindness and compassion to us all and never left our side when we needed a hug. I have to single out a senior carer as the kindest most compassionate carer I have ever met who did her job professionally but then went the extra mile to ensure moms passing a was as comfortable as it could be. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
