View Full Details of Kelvedon HouseRegarding activity sessions within Kelvdon House with a specific staff member and the team, they are well-organised, fun and an excellent job the ladies do with interacting with residents. Overall a great job. Although my brother doesn’t participate and the team tries to encourage this they ask on every occasion.
I've been a friend to my friend for a year, we got talking while I was visiting someone else and we hit it off and I found out she was a helper there. She seems very happy in the home and comfortable. It's a well-maintained home and clean I look forward to seeing my friend again soon.
My mom has been a resident at Kelvendon for 5 years and I can honestly say that the care she receives is excellent. All the staff are caring and have the resident's best interests at heart. The manager is very helpful and nothing is too much trouble, myself and my brother wouldn't have Mom stay anywhere else.
My father has been in the care home for over two years now. The staff have always been friendly and helpful towards us when we visit and have an excellent rapport with my father. We are aware of the difficulties that looking after our father with his condition and my sisters and I are extremely grateful and reassured of the way that the staff treat my father as well as the other residents. It is a shame that my father is unable to undertake some of the activities on offer but the staff will also encourage him to join in with whatever is happening.
My grandad moved into Kelvedon last year and the staff cared for my grandad like one of their own. The staff and manager went above and beyond for him and my family while he stayed there. My nan and her sister visited Grandad regularly and the home made them feel welcome offering them food and drinks throughout the day. Unfortunately, my grandad became very poorly and was admitted into hospital where it was decided that he needed a syringe driver fitted, the manager and staff helped the family to get grandad back into the home where they made a bed for my nan to stop with my grandad for his final moments. Myself and my family cannot thank Kelvedon staff enough for everything they did for us, they supported my family threw the loss of my grandad and ensured that my nan had all the support she needed and a shoulder to cry on. Amazing care and support from the girls at Kelvedon.
My mother has been a resident for over twelve months and I visit at least four times a week at different times ie. morning, afternoon and early evening after work. Whatever time I attend the home I have always found my mother to be well looked after and kept active by all the different activities which are arranged for her. The care staff are truly attentive and professional in all they do. I have no worries that my mother is being well looked after and cared for.
Since my brother has been in Kelvedon I cannot fault anything in regards to the home. They have made my brother welcome he has settled in well, and the staff and activities are brilliant in everything they do. I would recommend it to anyone.
My sister was placed in Kelvedon House. I am very happy with the care she is receiving. The home is clean and bright with loads of activities. The food is very good with lots of treats during the day with tea, cakes and biscuits. The rooms are clean and with plenty of space. All staff are very helpful and nothing is too much trouble.
My mother-in-law resided here for 18mths and I can honestly say that they lead with medication and are not trained for dementia residents. I can list numerous times where they have failed and I have brought these matters to their attention but to no avail, still waiting for answers to my emails. Since the move to another home, she is on no medication, clean and presentable. Something that couldn't be said for Kelvedon. "If they play up they don't get showered". That's what I was told. We visited quite regularly and never saw anyone going the extra mile or above and beyond certainly not the management. I wouldn't recommend that you place anyone here if you care for them. Website is misleading and quite a few fake reviews. Please check out another website for staff reviews to get a fuller picture.
Mom resided here with diagnosed advanced dementia. The home accepted her with this condition and their website says they are commended for their dementia care which is non-existent, just like the pool and sensory room. Very poorly staffed and poorly trained. Witnessed on several occasions residents being left on the floor to sleep apparently. Management said my mom's behaviour had changed and increased the cost to £2600 per week. Moved mom to another home where currently she's doing well and they treat residents with stimulation, not medication.
The care provided here is outstanding, They are like one big family. My dad is treated with kindness and respect and has all of his needs met. They are also great support for the family. All the staff are friendly and go above and beyond. Fantastic place.
My Nan resided at Kelvedon House from May 2020 until July 2021. During that time my independently mobile Nan developed a grade four pressure sore - she had none on admission. She also had an unwitnessed fall which resulted in hospital admission for severe injury and will never walk again. Due to Covid 19, we had limited contact with Nan so we only “saw” a before and after. On the surface, everything appeared fantastic. We have since discovered that as Kelvedon House do not have their own nursing care and that any specialist care is communicated verbally to external sources. Kelvedon House did not even make contact to wish my nan a speedy recovery or to enquire how she was. Very disappointed and upset.
My father was a resident for over ten years. A soon as my sister and I walked through the doors we knew that this was the one. Over the years we have seen a number of staff and the majority of the have been kind and caring. Kelvedon House has a good amount of entertainment for its residents which provides pleasant stimulation. The quality of the care is of a high standard. The meals are tasty and varied. There is a good strong management team who don't shy away from hard decisions and yet are seeking quality care continually. They keep you up to date day to day.
My mother has been a resident of Kelvedon for the past ten years. I would just like to say that I cannot recommend the place and all the staff highly enough. Right from the office staff to carers and management everybody has been wonderful to my mother. She has had the best of care and how the staff have managed to cope during the COVID crisis so far I really don't know. They all deserve a medal but certainly get my thanks and admiration for all they do. Thank you so much and please stay safe.
My dad was resident here and I must say I have no complaints the home is well run it’s always welcoming there’s no time on when you can and can’t visit, the home kept me updated on anything to do with my dad's health and well-being. All the meals are freshly cooked and look and smell amazing. As well as caring for my husband, I am always made to feel welcome and enjoy my visits there. At the end of the day, they are like my family and treat me as such.
