View Full Details of Ryland View Care HomeLovely care home and surroundings but definitely need more staff! Food is poor, cheap and cheerful and often cold, supplemented by taking and buying our own. Nurses are of an acceptable level, although doctor's matters are done over the phone, rather than in attendance. Entertainment and activities are good and involve all residents. Staff are acceptable, some being better than others but friendly.
Brilliant home felt very welcome. The staff are polite and helpful. Very happy.
My husband has only been in Ryland View for 2 weeks and so far so good but only time will tell.
Due to recent closures of units my relative does not seem to be getting the care and attention we had become used to. The staff in the office is always very helpful and understanding, should be looked after by management, a real asset to the company. The staff member who looks after the residents wellbeing/entertainment is doing a fantastic job, always thinking of new ways to interact with the residents, which must be very hard to do on your own. We know there has been a lot of redundancies and closures of units. Hopefully management will realise their worth and look after these staff. Also improve on the care of the residents.
Aunt seems happy and content. Pleasant staff. Only let-down is laundry. Even with name and room number, clothes, socks etc go missing.
My father was a resident in this awful care home for just 12 days, during this time he suffered three incidents, he was left lying in his own faeces on two occasions for a ridiculous amount of time, so he tried to clean it up with his own hands which resulted in him wiping all over his bed, on the second occasion he banged his hand which resulted in him having a nasty bruise, and the third incident he climbed out of his bed and banged his head on the floor, the so-called pathetic night staff were far too slow to respond and my father was rushed to hospital in an ambulance, we immediately terminated our involvement with this disgraceful care home, I strongly advise everyone not to let any of your loved ones into this care home as they will not be safe.
Couldn't have wished for better care for Mom. Staff are very kind and Mom was well looked after, always washed and clean clothes every day. Mom enjoyed the food she was given and said there was a variety. I would recommend Ryland View to anyone.
It is a well-run home with care staff always very helpful. My mother is 100 years young and looked after very very well. Would say a very good home.
My sister was in Ryland View for 13 years. We were always very happy with her care. The staff treated her as one of the family, and although she was always on my mind, their care always ceased my worries.
My mother spent two weeks in respite care at Ryland Vire. She has memory issues, so cannot remember her stay. All of the family and friends who visited were impressed with the staff and facilities. I was informed of minor health issues, and the staff got a phone to Mom so we could speak to each other. Everyone I met seemed genuinely to care for every resident.
Very satisfied with the care my mom is getting in Haines unit. Always listened to if I have a problem.
The care that Mum gets is exceptional from all of the staff. They do all they can to make sure Mum is clean, comfortable, sometimes it does get difficult because of the dementia but staff always treat her with respect, kindness and care. I am always informed of Mum's health when I visit or by phone. The staff are always friendly, and they will always listen to what I have to say. I cannot thank them enough for all their care and hard work, also their dedication. The staff make the home.
My mom was here for nearly three years before the standards and care dropped. Even though she was at end of life we moved her. The staff kept changing most of them were unfriendly. We went every week and at lunch time Mom was unwashed and uncomfortable. She was 97 and had dementia. The food was awful pigs swill, no one came to feed her anyway. The laundry and cleaner were the only nice staff there. It was all very disgusting.
Visitors are always warmly welcomed by friendly staff. They genuinely personally cared for my mother and did all that they could, even through difficult circumstances as my mother's frailty grew. A care home needs a good physical environment but it is the staff who make it a home!
My mom has been in Ryland View Heronville Unit since 1st February 2022 for an assessment. I have no worries about the care she has received and even though mom was only temporary the staff and unit manager and nurse took good care of her and did go the extra mile to make sure she was safe as she has an attendance to fall. If this home was closer to family and friends mom would be staying with them.
My brother recently stayed for respite at Ryland View Care Home and the staff were lovely, welcoming and friendly. My brother was really worried but loved it and didn't want to leave when it was time to come back home. The staff called to give us reassurance and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very nice and everyone was so kind. He is looking forward to going back.
My dad has been a resident at Heronville House for some time now and I have seen the changes within the management and I have to say I'm so happy with the changes. The staff are always welcoming and polite and the House Manager always takes the time to talk through any concerns I have whether I am visiting or over the phone. I was considering moving my dad as I wasn't happy with the overall service, however, since the Home Manager took over she brought in new staff and changes I am so impressed with everyone especially how they look after my dad on Heronville. It's great to see happy staff and my dad is so well looked after I would never move him now. Thank you everyone for all your help, my dad and my family appreciate the efforts you're taking. Keep up the great work!
Our mom has been a resident in Heronville House Unit for almost two years. She is treated with the most care and kindness by all the staff. We are kept informed of her health and wellbeing at all times. Mom is happy and content and we are always greeted with a smile and a warm hello when we visit. Heronville House Unit is a lovely, warm, caring unit with fantastic staff. Keep up the good work and thank you to everyone.
I feel comfortable around staff, staff are very friendly and we can speak to them at any time. My mom gets on well with the activities staff. I think the staff here treat my mom as their own family.
My mother was admitted to hospital last year and after being in for a few months. It was deemed unsafe for Mom to return home due to her health deterioration/dementia as she lived on her own. The decision was made for Mum to go into permanent care. Ryland View was very supportive, open and honest regarding the process and what to expect. Care at Ryland View was always excellent with friendly, attentive and capable staff. Such a caring place would recommend to anyone; we were always contacted if there were any problems/kept informed of any changes to Mum. Their love and care for their residents are amazing.
