View Full Details of Lady Katherine Housing & CareA beautiful period building with many original features and a safe, secure grassed court area. The lounge is always busy and social, the food well prepared, fresh and tasty. Activities are well planned and fun. The standout however is the staff. They are all compassionate, caring, helpful and supportive. This is a residence that is a home, rather than a facility where people are segregated according to their level of dependency. Keeping all residents together and in touch with each other. This leads to a sense of community and fellowship rather than isolation and loneliness. It is a happy place.
I was granted a place for independent living at this address in November 2024. From the first communication with the Deputy Care Manager and her team, I have experienced the utmost kindness and courtesy. The accommodation is quiet, comfortable and well-heated, and the option of various services like cleaning, tasty and well-prepared hot meals, and full respite care, the facilities are wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend Lady Katherine facilities to anyone worried about their loved ones. They will be happy and well cared for by clean, well maintained and wonderful staff. I cannot praise them enough for their welcome and kind support.
We have recently moved Mom into Lady Katherine Care Home from another care home where Mom was a resident for nearly 3 years. We were very concerned for Mom's well-being at her previous home as staffing levels were unacceptable and we felt Mom was being neglected. I had heard only good reports about Lady Katherine's home so I decided to pay a visit and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I met the manager and staff I have been shown such kindness and understanding. It's not an easy process having to move a dementia patient but they have handled the process professionally and efficiently. The difference in the care my mom is now receiving is such a relief to me. Daily activities help my mom's well-being and carers are always there to help her. Nothing is too much trouble including a constant supply of tea and biscuits! The level of care is outstanding I could not be happier.
Lady Katherine's is a very special place. My lovely Mum has been a resident for 8 years and I'm so glad my Dad found and chose this home for her. The facilities are good, the rooms comfortable, the meals great and there are lots of activities and trips. But most importantly the team is amazing. It really does feel like a family. Nothing is ever too much trouble, everyone is really supportive and open and the carers and medical staff put a lot of effort into understanding my Mum and her needs and working out the best ways to manage them. My Mum has made friends with both residents and staff and I know she is not just receiving top-quality professional care, but she is also happy and content.
Lady Katherine Care Home is situated in the countryside, with historic beginnings. A warm welcome, caring staff which she observed when choosing to stay long term since 2018. She was always treated with respect, dignity and love by all the staff, especially at difficult times. The home, in its cleanliness, laundry and housekeeping was always excellent. The management team's communication and face-to-face contact kept us well-informed. The special occasions are celebrated in style. There were daily activities to participate in, but latterly she enjoyed the singing at each opportunity. As her days faded, the palliative care she received from the staff was exemplary. The constant care, personal attention, and every aspect throughout was given with the utmost compassion, gentleness and kindness that anyone would wish for their loved one to receive. I and my family will be forever grateful for each and every day my mother spent with you all. Thank you.
The building has a lot of history and certain areas could do with modernising. I appreciate that this would be difficult to do. The entrance area and downstairs toilet are small and often congested. It is good that the residents are all together in the lounge rather than alone in their rooms. The choice is there for them, however. The staff are always cheerful and helpful to visitors and residents. Many of the staff have worked there for a long time so management would appear to be good.
My mum came for respite care for 2 weeks in August enabling us to have a holiday break. I found the staff to be very kind, caring and responsive. The accommodation is very private, a stimulating environment with the added bonus of being in a truly beautiful and peaceful setting. To me, it seemed like a proper home rather than just a care facility. Thank you, we have already booked another stay!
I have been at Lady Katherine for two years. When I first came I needed full care so had a flat on the ground floor. The staff do a wonderful job, they are all very good carers. When I was much better and could look after myself I moved to a flat on the first floor, I do have a stair lift and I am a sheltered independent resident now. Care is always on hand if needed. In the main house, dining room, lounge and kitchen on the first floor more flats and bedsits, so good accommodations all around.
Following a move for my father from another care home Lady Katherine Housing & Care has been a breath of fresh air. All aspects of the experience from administration to care have been attentive, respectful and efficient. The staff are excellent and very caring. This is immediately evident from observing the wonderful relationship they have with the residents. I would have no hesitation in recommending Lady Katherine.
The team at Lady Katherine managed the transition of my Father into their care with ease and efficiency. This was a very traumatic time for our family and their sensitivity and support went a long way in making it as painless as possible. Since his first week in June 2024, we have seen him settle and the staff really take him into the Lady K Family, something very special and wonderful to be a part of and we feel blessed to have him in such a loving and safe environment. Dad had settled within a month and is now happy and content with all his new extended family and friends. I would recommend Lady Katherine and their amazing team of staff to anyone who needed to make this huge and very difficult step as our experience has been more than we could have imagined. Thank you to every single person in the team, we appreciate you.
My wife has been a resident for eight and half years. During this period care has been inconsistent. This is because of poor communication and lessons have not been learned. I have highlighted this issue many times. I cared for my wife for twelve years but when she started suffering from falls I got her admitted before she broke something. She then suffered a fall in the care home and has been unable to self-support ever since. I was never informed what happened; all the home did was to ask for more money because my wife needed more care afterwards. There have been two more serious issues because apparently my wife's care plan was not filled in adequately. The first regarded cleaning her teeth, which was not done and needed three visits to the dentist because of toothache due to thrush. The second was a problem with choking and it took the intervention of social workers to sort out a suitable diet. I had mentioned these problems many, many times but nothing was done. The response currently is that they have no control over agency staff.
Following my diagnosis of; Cancer, Heart Disease, and Oesteoarthritis in early 2023 it was deemed necessary for me to move to a Care Environment. Having personally selected Lady K Leveson as my new home, I am pleased to offer my review after living in The Court for over a year. I have no future plans or foreseeable reason to relocate and am pleased to call "The Court" my Home. I have witnessed continual improvement to all Services, (at differing paces). All listed services are Good. The Trustees, Management, and Staff combined are striving to provide Excellent Service. I shall be happy to provide future updates to this review as each Service becomes "Excellent" (of which I have no doubt). PS. Looking forward to the next 350 Years.
I consider I have received the most attentive care from all the carers but especially from the administrator of all the facilities in the care home. I offer my most sincere gratitude to him for all his dedicated attention to my well-being and health.
My father has been resident at Lady Katherine Housing and Care, Temple Balsall for about a year and in that time the staff have been incredibly helpful. They have often gone beyond what they are required to do and have always been ready to help me and my sister with either advice or practical help which has made a huge difference.
We visited a friend at Lady Katherine's over 20 years ago and were impressed with what we saw then. Subsequently, after the pandemic, we decided we needed a break and came here for a week of respite care. Living in an apartment much in need of modernisation, we still enjoyed the beauty of the complex with its links to the church and the school, with lovely countryside all around us. At the end of our visit, we came to the conclusion that, should our health or changed circumstances mean that we needed greater personal care, then we would hope that we could return to Lady Katherine's. Two years later that did happen, we returned and were delighted to discover that we would eventually be able to move into a newly renovated apartment. The dedication and kindness of all the staff is exemplary and we know that whenever a problem occurs it will be dealt with efficiently and with very real care and concern.
In my capacity as attorney to a lovely lady with dementia, I have found the staff at Lady Katherine to be very supportive and compassionate. Day respite for one day a week extended to two days a week and then Christmas respite was extended to a permanent stay at my client's request. Lady Katherine is situated in the countryside which is a calm tranquil setting for later life. The residents are well cared for and enjoy good food and daily activities. Special mention to deputy manager who communicates and updates me regularly.
After the long and very sad demise of my mother, I feel I should share my experience of the fantastic care and support of all members of staff within the foundation! From the day my mother entered Lady Katherine's, she was treated with the utmost respect and patience and felt safe and cared for! The building was warm and homely and the food was freshly prepared every day, and every special occasion, be it birthdays, Christmas, New Year, Easter etc was made as memorable as possible! Cleanliness was exemplary, and housekeeping and laundry were always up to the mark! Maintenance of the premises was always performed unobtrusively! Thank you one and all for allowing my mum to feel at home for her final years!
We have been pleased with our accommodation and interactive talks with staff and other residents. Management have always been helpful.
I arranged for my wife to have 2 weeks respite care at Lady Katherine Leveson Care Home. Friendly and prompt attention made the process very straight forward. My wife was well looked after and seemed very happy with her stay.
Although my relative was reluctant to enter a care home, his general health and wellbeing has dramatically improved. The manager and all his team are efficient, caring, and will do all they can to help their residents lead a happy life in delightful surroundings. All offer similiar help and cooperation to family, friends, and all responsible for the resident.
