View Full Details of Anson CourtAfter a five-week respite stay arranged by the local authority, we thought my father-in-law would be in safe hands to allow my mother-in-law to have a well-deserved rest. No, the complete opposite. My father-in-law got out of the care home unknown to staff and was found luckily and taken back to the home. There has been an unwitnessed fall leading to an A&E visit and fractured ribs, then on another visit we found my father-in-law covered in poo and left on the bed and we discovered a gash on his leg which no staff member could tell us how it had occurred. The level of care at this home is so poor it's embarrassing, yes we had a letter to apologise for my father-in-law getting out of the home but it shouldn't have happened. It could have been so much worse, we are so thankful to the person who found him. Please don't entertain this home for your loved ones, please look around carefully. I just hope improvements will be made all around and nothing like this happens to someone else's loved ones.
The damning report on Anson Court by the CQC is so unfair in my and my family's opinion. I can only praise both staff and management for the care, compassion and understanding of my husband's needs which are sometimes disruptive and challenging. This is the second care home that he has been in. The first failed to meet his needs. We as a family have a good relationship with both staff and management. We are thankful for all the care and attention that they give, not only to my husband but to all the other residents. I visit very often and have seen the kindness and patience they all have.
When we were looking for a residential home with dementia awareness for my mother we did a lot of research and Anson Court was at the top of our list. We have not been disappointed. All the staff at Anson Court carry out their roles in a very welcoming, caring and professional manner. They know their residents. Based on our observations of the staff with my mother and other residents, they know how to deal with any issues that arise from time to time. The staff are always cheerful and helpful and strive to do what's best for the residents. I know in the short time that my mum has been there, all the staff know her very well indeed. The care shown in all areas is, we feel, outstanding, together with humour and love. Mum's visitors have all commented that we did well to find this home and what a lovely atmosphere it is. We can't praise the home enough and it is a great relief to know that our mum is happy and very well cared for.
I would not recommend this care home. Management were abrupt and argumentative. The residence smells of urine and not very clean. My relative's health deteriorated whilst in the first week of respite and ended up in hospital. This is all I am prepared to comment on.
My mother has been a resident in Anson Court for a few years now and my brother and I are extremely content with the service and care that they provide to a frail old lady. The staff are actually amazing and it never ceases to amaze me personally how caring and considerate they all are. My mother is becoming very aggressive with her family members which seems to very upsetting for her and the staff are so loving, yes I actually said loving. It is such an amazing thing to witness, they are brilliant. The food there is also very good, using locally sourced fresh ingredients. The meals are cracking, well presented and where required spoon fed to residents who need extra care. The staff are all very positive in nature and get on wonderfully well together providing an impressive team ethic which is resident beneficial of course. Anson Court gets our vote, my mother is safe, well fed, and loved and cared for Thanks to the manager and all at Anson, well done, you are fantastic.
This is our first care home experience and I cannot thank the manager and her amazing team enough. They admit that they are not perfect but that they do care and this is tangible every day. My Father and I visit daily and each day are made to feel welcome, nothing is ever too much trouble. Mom has thrived at Anson Court, she has medium-severe Dementia with some capacity and Mom is treated with compassion, dignity and kindness by all the staff. Every member of staff is fantastic, each bringing their own special way to each different situation. Residents are encouraged to be very independent. The home is small and cosy and is very much home from home. Anson Court held out their hands to my Mom at a time when we knew we could no longer cope at home and we have never looked back. They help us sleep at night!
