View Full Details of Homestead Care HomeMy Mom has settled in well, staff are very approachable, kind and caring. Happy to answer any questions, and respond quickly if there are any concerns. There is a good level of activities that Mom is encouraged and supported to participate in. They are also good at supporting family members and very thankful for their care and understanding.
My mom has been in the home for approximately 5 weeks, she had a very difficult time settling in but the staff didn't give up on her and worked with mental health to get her on the correct medication. All the staff are amazing and nothing is too much trouble, we are always reminded to call at any time to get an update on how she is. There are plenty of activities going on and she has even been taken out to get her nails done and have a bite to eat. I love the way Mom is allowed to roam free in the safety of the home and there's always plenty of staff to keep an eye on her and to interact with. I feel so lucky that Mom has a place in this home and is well looked after, I honestly can't thank them all enough.
Clean, plenty of activities, and good food. Residents always look clean, the place never smells of urine etc. The staff always pleasant. The staff are friendly.
Absolutely fab they have been marvellous to my mother! I was so scared of putting Mom into a home after many years of looking after her myself, the coordinator has helped me so much in fact all the staff have been so loving and caring to all the residents and the manager too I cannot fault it at all.
Homestead has been nothing but fantastic with Mom since she started living there last year. January this year in particular, after a stay in hospital. Nothing is too much trouble to make her as comfortable as they possibly can. You could see the difference in Mom as soon as she got back to Homestead more relaxed and smiling at the carers, which just goes to show how at home she feels. This and the lovely staff that always make us feel so welcome when we visit is such a huge relief knowing Mom is so well cared for and she is happy Sadly our grandmother passed away at Christmas. We were concerned she might not be able to get to the funeral, but the fantastic staff at Homestead assured us that Mom would be there, and she was. Even had her hair and nails done too plus a member of staff for support. Nothing is too much for them. This alone, we will always be grateful for.
All the staff from the manager, carers, wellbeing, kitchen, cleaners to the gardener are always welcoming, friendly, caring and supportive both to my mom and our family. Mom originally went for respite but we decided that she was so settled, happy and had every need catered for that she would become a permanent resident. The home is excellent, well-managed, and very informative.
The staff are kind and helpful and I have seen my mother put weight on (she wasn’t eating) and is always comfortable. I feel the home is well-run and is warm and welcoming. As a family member, I have been welcomed into the home as well.
I have visited Homestead a lot over the last few months to see my mom and always find the home to be clean and tidy, my mom is always really happy and is well cared for. It was the hardest time of our lives making the decision for Mom to go to a care home but I feel so grateful that we found Homestead. The staff are always happy and smiling and the manager is professional and approachable. Nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend Homestead to anyone looking for a home with a family feel.
When the family went to visit Homestead Care Home we were greeted by the manager who showed all vacant rooms available together with the lounges, dining room, menus, shown list of activities. We were very impressed with the home, and staff we met. Very clean, had a very relaxed atmosphere home from home feeling. We made the decision that this was the home for our sister. The staff are so friendly and nothing is too much trouble for them. The activities and parties are so lovely to see the residents having such fun. We can not praise the home and all staff enough, we know our sister is cared for and loved. The manager said to us the residents are treated like our own family and that says how much this home care for our relatives. We can't thank them all enough for what they do for our sister it's such a comfort to our family to see her happy there, we are very glad and lucky we found this care home. We appreciate all they do.
When my husband was admitted for full-time care it was one of the worst events in my life but the carers at Homestead not only looked after him with empathy and kindness, but they also looked after me. He is treated with kindness and dignity, in a safe and relaxed environment. There are activities more or less every day, which keep the residents engaged and happy. I feel very lucky that he is so well cared for.
I visited my Auntie for the first time today and was very impressed with the lovely and relaxed atmosphere at The Homestead Care Home. All the staff I met seemed lovely and treated all residents with respect and genuine interest. Nothing appeared to be too much trouble and the manager was involving all residents in the lounge I was in, in a game, which I thought was a wonderful idea. I applaud you all, not an easy job at all. Well done, I feel much happier knowing Auntie is in your care. Thank you all.
The care that my mom receives at Homestead Care Home is second to none. She has had periods where her health has deteriorated and the staff made sure that medical attention was sought immediately. My mom has vascular dementia which at times can make her upset and difficult to look after but the staff do their best to make her feel safe, settled and happy. Whenever I visit she is always clean, well dressed and has always had a delicious home made meal. The staff communicate any important information to us about our mom and we have always had a good relationship with the carers and management. They really are a great team and provide a really personal level of care. There is always a friendly face when you visit. I would have no hesitation in recommending Homestead to anyone that is looking for somewhere safe, comfortable, welcoming and happy for a member of their family.
I work at the sister home of Homestead Care Home and had the pleasure of working within Homestead throughout the first few weeks of December. The care, environment and staff are outstanding and was blown away by the love and compassion shown within the home. Every day the home has amazing activities and entertainment, and it is so lovely to see how happy and content the residents are and the beautiful bonds that they have with the staff. I would highly recommend Homestead.
My dad has been here just over twelve months. He settled well right from the start. The staff are all very friendly and caring. The manager has always been very kind and helpful. The staff always make us feel comfortable when we visit and seem to engage well with all the residents. We are always kept informed of any changes with Dad's health or care.
My father has not been in the home for long and I can say with confidence how brilliant the staff are. Thanks for being warm and welcoming and looking after my dad when me and my wife need to concentrate on our daughter. Top quality care home, top quality staff.
The service provided and care shown by the entire team at Homestead has always been first class. It is obvious from my wife's reactions to input from all members of the Care Team that she feels comfortable and settled at Homestead. This, in turn, gives me peace of mind knowing that she is being well looked after. The team members are always able to answer any queries that I might have without having to check with others, showing dedication and total involvement. There has always been total compliance with Covid regulations as applicable.
My wife has now been a resident for four months. Apart from short 'respite' occupancies, this is her first permanent residence in a care home. She seems to be settled and content with the home and care staff. She changed to an en-suite room recently and I hope she will settle in. I find her answers to my questions, sometimes produce unreliable answers. She still 'picks' her arms; this has been an ongoing problem, yet to be resolved. Because of her ongoing skin problems, we the family would prefer she has a daily shower, if at all possible.
My uncle has been a resident for 4 years. He has advanced Alzheimer’s, on moving to The Homestead he has been very content and settled. The management and staff are great and have done a fantastic job during the very difficult Covid period. I have been able to visit in a way that was safe for all concerned and for that I am very grateful. I recently had the chance to share a day out with my uncle and other residents, it made a lovely change for us both. Thank you to the manager and everyone at Homestead.
The love and care my mother received was brilliant. The last week of our mother's life the management and staff were amazing. We can not thank them all enough.
The staff at the Homestead Care Home have always been professional, understanding and above all else, extremely caring. They treat the residents at the home with both care and dignity and will go out of their way to be friendly to all of the residents. The home is clean and well maintained and there has been considerable maintenance work going on recently to improve the standards still further. Whenever we visit the home the staff are always welcoming and friendly and always seem to know where each of the residents is at any one time. My mother took a while to settle in but that is down to the individual and not the home/staff, but now she seems to be in a better place mentally than when she first entered the home. We can't speak highly enough of the staff and would thank them for all they have done and continue to do.
