View Full Details of Oak Lodge Residential HomeMy mum recently passed away and therefore spent only a few short weeks at Oak Lodge. However, I cannot speak highly enough of the care she received - respect, kindness, dignity all to the highest standard. All of the staff right from the ladies in the kitchen through to the owner genuinely care. I am forever grateful to them.
My mother lives in a home which is busy and active and stimulating for someone with Alzheimer's, something which is appreciated by her family. The family atmosphere created by the owner and staff makes her a happy person to visit and gives great comfort to ourselves. The staff are diligent, caring and hard-working and all they do is very much appreciated by ourselves. Despite my mother needing feeding by staff and lifting and carrying, she still seems well-loved there despite her dependencies.
Oak Lodge looked after my mother so well while she was there (about 3 years). I visited frequently and I noticed that they were always so respectful of the residents in their care. During the final few weeks of my mother's life, they were incredibly diligent and helpful.
My mother has been extremely well looked after for some time now. She has had vascular dementia and has been doubly incontinent but the staff have managed to keep her clean and she has been well looked after in all respects. She has received appropriate medical treatment when required and has been taken to hospital when necessary. She really has not been capable of taking part in activities lately but she did enjoy playing indoor skittles and similar games. The home-cooked food always smells and looks appetising and a member of staff has fed her when my mother became unable to feed herself. My mother's room had a pleasant view across the garden and also had its own private bathroom and W.C. I have found Oak Lodge to be excellent in the quality of care provided.
