View Full Details of Coldwells HouseMy mother received exceptional care from Coldwells staff in the final days of her life. Staff were so kind, caring and attentive. They made sure Mum was comfortable, kept a close eye on her, attended to her gently and with respect. When the end came, she was never left alone and was in no pain. Staff were so kind to myself and my family too. We could not have wished for a better place for our mother to spend her final days, and we will all be forever grateful for the special care that Coldwells provided.
Slow to answer bell call. Mental health patients need more supervision and care. Night staff inadequate for number of beds.
Cannot fault any of the services. I feel there should be more care staff for the amount of beds here.
The carers here are very understanding. The management are excellent, the cleaners are experienced and very good, cleaning the rooms every day.
All I can say is wow! What a fantastic, clean and friendly home Coldwells is. My father came here after we were not happy with the previous care home he was in. Coldwells all staff go above and beyond all our expectations of care and dignity given to dad. He is so much happier here, has made lots of friends and loves the staff. The facilities are fabulous, a bistro where we can have coffee and cake with dad, we can go and have dinner with dad which he loves and all for a donation. Fantastic and would highly recommend.
Fantastic staff well mannered. Clean and caring. You could not wish for a better place of staff.
The team at Coldwells was caring, attentive and proactive in their care of my mum over the last 22 months. The management team were approachable, communicative, forward thinking, always finding time to discuss matters of care or to hear of a request. Mum entered her end-of-life phase in Coldwells. During this time Mum was cared for with warmth, compassion and respect and we always felt her comfort and dignity was uppermost in the carers' minds. The Team Leads were always available at the end of the call bell for us and responded to every situation with calm and caring professionalism, knowing when we needed a comforting word or reassurance and when it was time for a nurse to be called. Sitting with Mum we could hear the team in the corridor, interacting with each other and the other residents, and never once heard any inappropriate comments, only respectful and caring interactions. I am very grateful for the way Mum was looked after by everyone. Coldwells is a wonderful home.
Mum moved to Coldswell House after a traumatic discharge to assess placement. All staff went out of their way to make mum feel welcome. Management have fought to ensure mum has been given the appropriate medical needs. Mum is now much more settled and she is happy living at Coldwells House. Her room is lovely and it will be lovely personalising it. All staff are caring and want the best for all residents. Thank you, to everyone! Food is delicious and mum is always offered a choice. Meal times are very relaxed and every dining area feels like home, if not a dining room. The cafe is a delight to visit and family members enjoy spending time in there. It's lovely seeing the variety of activities, offered to residents.
My mother had been a residence at Coldwells House for over five years. She had been suffering from dementia and during that time slowly declined until she passed away recently. As a family, we cannot praise the staff at Coldwells House enough for the care and dignity they gave mum during this time. A huge thank you from us all.
We always find mum well cared for and comfortable. Staff are kind and caring to mum, they take care to tell her where cups etc are as she is sight impaired. I've often noticed some giving her a cuddle, holding her hand, having a chat and I know she is well loved and respected. A recent problem with the call bell/unit has now been rectified. Mum has a gluten free diet, this is followed at all meal times and during the tea/coffee sessions. She says she enjoys her meals and I believe she has a good appetite. I can approach any one of the staff / management with a suggestion or problem and I am supported every time be it face to face, via email or telephone. Should a problem arise, I am contacted and given all the necessary information. The staff not only care for my mum and keep her safe, they also care for her family and give us support too. Asking Coldwells House to look after mum was the best move for her, me, my brother and our families too. Thank you everyone.
What a difference a good care home can make and Coldwells House must be one of, if not the best! From the moment you walk in and are greeted by a cheerful staff member (or one of the other welcoming receptionists) to the unconditional care, the cleanliness, the comfortable rooms, the ambience and the wonderful food. And then there's the Bistro, tea, coffee and cake at any time of the day (and probably night). Although my dad doesn't have the capacity to realise quite where he is, I know how happy and content he is at Coldwells and for that I thank you all.
The staff are very caring a polite the home is very friendly. Friendly and professional and they seem to run the place very well. I am very pleased with her attitude to the patients and always welcome in when I visit.
I cannot thank the staff and management who are all amazing of Coldwells House enough for the way (my wife who has had Alzheimer's for nearly eight years) is looked after, treated, cared for and supported day and night in all the time she has been a resident here. The food and all the activities are excellent. I would give this care home 5 stars and recommend it to anyone.
I am enjoying regular residents families meetings which help so much to keep us informed and feel part of the Coldwells House family. This has led to meeting and supporting others outside of the home, who have spouses in care which has its unique issues and feelings.
I do feel that my mum is very happy (if that's possible) at Coldwells. I can see that the care she receives is excellent, the staff are all very caring and friendly. The reception staff are absolutely excellent and very efficient. They cannot be faulted in any way and are a joy to support to. All in all, I'm very happy with the service my mum receives, so thank you Coldwells.
Lovely location in expansive, well-maintained grounds. New wing excellent. Overall, very pleased with my experience as a relative visiting a loved one at Coldwells House. Parking often challenging due to size of car park, access lanes shocking condition. So grateful for the level of care and support provided to my father who visited Mum most days for the year Mum was resident. Support was over and above with staff not only providing Dad with a cooked lunch but befriending him, providing support as Dad was missing Mum hugely. Policy of allowing us to personalise Mum's room much appreciated.
Coldwells House is always bright and very welcoming to visitors, my mum loves sitting in the many areas with tall windows looking out onto the gardens. She also likes to sit in the cafe with the bright orange chairs, coffee machine and lovely cake and biscuits. It's great to see all the activities on the online page, her grandchildren love to see if they can spot her! The food looks very good and it's nice that they have hot chocolate in the evening and a snack.
Since my aunt has been not too good. The care she has been given is wonderful and very caring and staff and managers are always happy giving updates on anything we are concerned about.
So refreshing having the enthusiasm of youth and entertainment committee. So many quiet places to rest and consider your next move. This is now my home for a long time I hope. Looking forward to the plans for the garden and walks around on sunny days.
What made Coldwells for me was always the staff, always professional, always polite and above all caring. The home always felt right, always clean and above all friendly. It felt as close to a home as a care home could. Even in Mum's final days, I was touched by the love and respect. One could not ask for more for a loved one.
