View Full Details of Evendine HouseMum, who has dementia and mobility issues, has been at Evendine House since July 2024. I cannot fault the care that she has received over the last six months. It has been excellent. Mum appears to be very happy at Evendine and whenever I visit, I am impressed by the premises and the welcoming and attentive staff. I would have no hesitation in recommending Evendine House.
Mum was only at Evendine House for a short while but thank God she was there when it was most important. Our experience was a totally professional and very open approach to care, and the care mum received during her last days was above and beyond our expectations, that sort of care and commitment can only be provided by genuinely caring people. Myself and my brother were also taken care of so kindly during mum's passing that it made a difficult time much easier. I honestly cannot recommend this care home enough. Sadly we cannot name individuals in this review, which I feel is a shame, as they deserve the recognition for going the extra mile.
Evendine House has a wonderful family atmosphere. It has the feel of a small country hotel rather than a Care Home. All the staff are exceptionally caring and diligent. The level of detail and personalisation in the care plan is exemplary, from the individual dietary plans to the efforts to learn about mum's past. The staff really cared about the individual, who they were and had been, they did not put the residents in the 'old person' basket. Mum sadly had Dementia but all the staff treated her dignity and respect, wanting recapture her true character. During our Mum's last few days the staff were nothing less than exceptional. The support we received was just amazing, and the care for mum went above a beyond. We couldn't have picked a better place for mum to stay. Thank you all.
Our mother has dementia, mobility issues and severe vision impairment. Since day one the staff in the care home have been very attentive to her individual needs. She is very settled in the home and we are able to visit her on a regular basis without an appointment. As a family, we would highly recommend Evendine House!
From the moment my mum moved to Evendine she has experienced the very best care. The team without exception are professional, caring, thoughtful, friendly and fun. Activities are set to good only because they were down by a staff member.
Dad has been settled and happy since coming to Evendine in May 2023. He loves his food and there are certainly no complaints in that dept. The staff from the top down are excellent and caring and keep me well informed and always have time to chat when I arrive and always supply a 'cuppa'. Activities tailed off for a while but hopefully now new staff have arrived this will get back up to speed. The atmosphere is home and in no way clinical. Would highly recommend it.
As a family, we couldn't be happier with the care provided for dad. He is always clean safe and well nourished. the staff are amazingly kind taking care of all his needs with discretion and kindness.
The care shown to my mother is of the highest standard, and I couldn't be happier knowing that my mum is being well cared for. It is quite obvious that the staff really care about the welfare of every resident and are very welcoming whenever we visit. We get constant updates by phone or email about mum, and are informed of activities on which she has been taken. I have noticed a marked improvement in mum in the time she has been a resident at Evendine.
My mum moved to Evendine House a year ago. She has dementia, wanders and falls. I cannot speak highly enough of Evendine and its staff. The accommodation is beautiful, the food is amazing and the care is first-class. All of the staff are amazing and fully committed to delivering a high level of care, treating residents with kindness and maintaining their dignity. My mum is very happy here - it's become like an extended family.
Evendine is home from home. The wonderful staff here is what makes it that way. Mum has been a resident for 3 years and we regard the team as part of the family. They truly care for Mum and treat her with love, kindness, and respect. I am always made to feel so welcome here and am informed of any changes, concerns, but most of all, all of the good times! I highly recommend Evendine for your loved one. The house is lovely and the gardens are a beautiful place to sit and visit.
Everyone at Evendine are very friendly, the staff are very polite and helpful. It's always clean and organised, my mum looks well looked after and seems very happy.
My father is so happy here. I can't fault anything.
The care at Evendine is of a very high standard. My friend is encouraged to participate in a variety of activities but is also given the choice of excluding herself if she so chooses. Her diet has improved dramatically and she is very settled there after only a few months.
My uncle arrived four days ago. The staff have been excellent. Nothing has been too much trouble for them. It fees comfortable here.
You look after my mother-in-law so beautifully, with such care, compassion and kindness. Nothing appears to be too much trouble, so thank you. You have been very supportive with challenging situations too, for which we are very grateful about, because making decisions around safeguarding is never easy. Thank you.
I have always found Evendine to be warm and welcoming. Staff always greet you with a smile. The staff and management show genuine care for the residents. There are lots of planned activities and food and drink is plentiful.
My father died in Evendine House Care Home in Colwall. He had only been resident there for three weeks and his death was sudden and unexpected. In the short time he was there, he was treated with respect, dignity but also humour. They really seemed to get to know him and I felt very comforted that he was in good care and safe hands. I was very impressed by both the managers and staff I dealt with. I live several hours away and so the majority of my contact with staff was by phone. The staff always had time to chat with me about how my dad was doing and they kept me well-informed. The staff member handled notifying me of his sudden death by phone very sensitively. Likewise, my mum was welcomed when she visited the home after his death.
My dear mum has now been at Evendine House coming up for two years. Mum was warmly welcomed and was given an allocated carer to help her settle in. The family were welcomed with a sandwich platter lunch in the gardens allowing us time to arrange mum's room with her personal belongings. In the early days, mum preferred to stay in her room watching television, this was no trouble to the caring staff who ensured she had regular checks and all her meals and drinks provided. Over time mum was encouraged to join the other residents in the lounge, mum's wishes were always respected if and when wanting to do this. In October 2022 thanks to the vigilance of the carers whilst carrying out covid monitoring recognised mum had low oxygen levels and a dry cough which resulted in mum being taken to hospital, this wasn’t covid. On her return, I can’t thank the management and carers enough for getting mum well again. Now she's regularly in the lounge and engaging with other residents and activities.
My mother recently passed away peacefully at Evendine. For 18 months she was very well cared for and due to her frailty, she required a high level of personal care several times each day. Staff were consistently kind and attentive and I will always be grateful to those individual carers who were so considerate to her needs. Her end-of-life care was exceptional. Our family were also very well supported during a difficult and emotionally draining time. I would recommend Evendine to others. It is a relatively small care home and therefore able to offer residents a familiar face and continuity of care, very important for those with dementia. It is also a bonus that the environment is not busy, fairly quiet with nice gardens. My thanks to all the staff. I just wish that carers could be recognised and well remunerated for the vitally important work they do.
The team have been very friendly, caring and professional from the day our mother moved into the care home in August this year. The team have made an effort to make us all feel welcome, not just our mother and really understand dementia which has given us so much confidence in entrusting mum to their care. Mum has settled in well and has a lovely room with beautiful views of her beloved Malvern hills. The team provide activities on a daily basis and some larger events - we enjoyed the fete in September, it was particularly lovely to see so many pets and children come along. All the residents joined in, and my 2-year-old grandson loved it too. Recently mum has not been well, but the team have been so supportive and helpful, especially in liaising with the hospital. We are all glad to see her back at Evendine House, where she is doing well under their care. It is really good to have the family portal too, with lots of useful updates on how she is getting on.
