My wife who has been in the home for 5 years this March has surprised me and my family, by her willpower to stay with us after her illness (vascular dementia) and through the COVID era. This is all down to the wonderful staff who take care of her. I can tell that she loves the staff as much as she loves her family. Although my wife's health is not so good, the staff still give 100% care to her. I would recommend to anyone who needs care for a family member, that Froome Bank is a top care home.
On arrival to visit my mother today, I was greeted as always by happy staff., always welcoming and happy to see you. Asked if would like a drink, and after declining, they said my mum was in her room. I knew my way, and the staff knew this. Mum was happy sitting in her room and comfortably watching TV. After the visit, the staff were happy to discuss Mum, the staff are always happy, and I feel genuine care for all service users. And know my mother is very happy and well looked after, giving me peace of mind.
When I first came to Froome Bank Care Home I was like many before me, a little apprehensive having no experience of communal living. However, after three years I do feel qualified to reflect on some of the aspects of our lives here. First and foremost, the staff. Apart from all the hard work they do on our behalf, they are consistently patient, friendly and helpful in so many ways. There is excellent cooperation between them which makes for a strong team. Being a small concern, the environment tends to be more intimate. A good range of activities is provided. Overall a happy and well run place of care.
When I first entered the reception area and met the staff, I knew my wife was going to be safe and well looked after. I go there nearly every day and I am greeted at the door with a smile and staff telling me how my wife has been since I last saw her. The home is spotlessly clean and she is well looked after. What more could you ask for?
Can’t speak highly enough for this wonderful home my sister has a new lease of life it’s wonderful to see. She is 90 and was in a very poor state of depression she now is engaging with residents and staff and taking part in activities. I can’t recommend it more it’s superb
I feel that all my mother's needs are met. She is well looked after by very dedicated staff. We find that all our concerns are dealt with promptly.
My Mum started residing at Froome Bank after a difficult 12 months. Thankfully she settled in with excellent help from care staff (which was hard with the Covid restrictions). They keep me updated with every aspect of Mum's care for which I am very grateful. Having got to know the staff (office staff included) myself, I have every confidence in the care Mum receives.

My brother was transferred to Froome Bank in September from Hospital after suffering a series of strokes, seven weeks ago. He was very down and depressed after the strokes after losing sight in one eye, yet within just days of being at Froome Bank, I’m amazed at how his spirits have lifted. My brother loves good food and he's waxed lyrical over the choice and quality of the freshly cooked food. He feels comfortable, relaxed and very well cared for. He has said the staff are simply wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Being Welsh he is a true teapot. Loving regular cups of great tea, which he enjoys throughout the day. He sends his compliments to the Chef daily. The transformation of mood in my brother is palpable, and though I know he’s still a way to go for full recovery both he and our family are absolutely delighted by the superb care he is receiving at Froome Bank. So thanks to all the staff and the wonderful Chef at Froome Bank.
Froome Bank is a delightful small residential care home that truly cares about its residents. Following a stroke and amputation I was unable to continue to look after Mum and with no personal funds or property, I was extremely concerned about my mother's care. Froome Bank, Shaw Healthcare management and staff to the rescue. As a previous registered care manager, I am in awe of what they achieve on so little. Big hearts, true care and love have given Mum her life back. Thank you all from all Mum's family and friends.
My mum entered Froome Bank's Dementia Unit in 2013. She settled in quickly and grew very fond of the staff. Throughout her time, she was cared for very well in her daily life and promptly treated when in need of medical care. She enjoyed the organised trips away and activities, especially the singing sessions. Staff were not only attentive, patient and caring towards my mum but were supportive of me and my husband when needed. Any concerns we had, whether about treatment or food were dealt with promptly and we were given feedback. Her care plan was explained to us and followed up with regular input. We would, therefore, have no hesitation in recommending Froome Bank Dementia Unit to anyone who finds themselves in the position we were five years ago.
