View Full Details of Orchard HouseThis care home is very welcoming, the staff always very friendly and caring and our dear friend has settled in really well against all expectations. She finds the food very good and can walk at any time around the well kept and attractive garden. In fact last summer she spent more time outside either reading or doing puzzles than inside. We couldn't recommend it highly enough.
My step father came for 2 weeks respite. He was given a very warm welcome and throughout his stay he was given so much care and attention. He has a very strict diet and the staff did not falter at all. They were amazing! He needed to be here during the festive season and they really made a big fuss of him, making his day very special. He loved it here. As his step daughter and primary carer, I feel so reassured in the knowledge he is safe and well. Thank you.
My mum moved into Orchard House in December 2023 and immediately felt safe. She had a lovely comfortable room and was made to feel very welcome. The carers were all lovely and looked after her every need as well as finding the time to simply sit and talk to her. She was delighted when she could have a bath for the first time in years due to the availability of the bath lift! She was taken into the beautiful grounds whenever the weather allowed. The staff had to adjust her food due to swallowing issues and nothing was too much trouble. Mum sadly passed away in her room, after a short illness, but was not alone. One of the carers stayed with her until the end. I cannot praise everyone enough, they made Mum's final months as comfortable and inclusive as was possible until she died one day before her 98th birthday. It's a lovely care home where they really do care about the well-being of their clients. Thank you to everyone, especially one staff member in particular.
My husband became a resident after a respite in August 2024. The home seems a very happy place with a beautiful garden. He is very well looked after. The staff are brilliant, nothing seems too much trouble. My daughter and I are made very welcome. Thank you all.
My wife has only been at Orchard House for a few weeks, but she has settled in really well. The staff are always helpful and caring and treat her with dignity and respect. They answer any questions and queries I have, quickly and knowledgeably. The rooms are airy, clean, and comfortable and there seems to be plenty for the residents to do.
My mother became a resident at Orchard House Care Home in Withington in the spring of 2024. Despite my initial reservations, I have been very impressed with the ongoing care she is receiving there - the manager is very proactive with all queries or requests I have made and always seems to demonstrate a willingness to assist with any ideas that may help my Mother to feel more settled and at home in the residence. I have found the staff to be very friendly when I or my family members visit, and they are understanding of my Mother's needs, and treat her with respect and kindness. The home itself is bright and airy, with a lovely garden for the residents to sit in when the weather is good. I would highly recommend Orchard House - everyone involved (including the kitchen staff who I have also met) appear to be doing their very best to continually look after the residents and their needs to the very best of their ability and I am extremely grateful to all concerned for this.
All staff are extremely welcoming and helpful. They made my mum feel at ease. This is the first time in years, she has stayed somewhere other than her home. She has been very well cared for, her mobility has increased, the human interaction has improved her memory, she is so happy and was excited to tell us what she had done. We cannot thank the staff enough for their care, kindness and understanding, Orchard House is a very special place, we would highly recommend it!
An excellent experience, thank you.
The staff made a real effort to create a wonderful Christmas atmosphere, thank you.
I cannot recommend or rate Orchard House highly enough. Mum's transition from my handing over responsibilities as a full-time carer to her permanent residency has been emotional for us both. The staff support has been incredible for both of us. Taking time to listen, understand her needs and work with her if I have concerns, the home seems to be one step ahead already recognising these. The home offers activities and outings, which Mum loves. Good quality home cooking which has encouraged her appetite. Her Alzheimer’s is very much understood. With secure units that are made to feel like home, I know she is safe.
My father took poorly in December 22 and I looked after him until March, at this point his health was declining and I knew I couldn't give him the care he deserved, then in April Dad moved into Orchard House. Whilst naturally reluctant to start, he now has the best team around him and feels part of the furniture and safe, everything is taken care of and it allows me and Dad to have more quality time together. The staff are amazing not only with Dad that care and support and advice extends to me an only child. he has come right out of himself, he always tells me how great they are, he loves the food and his little trips out. He treats it like a hotel and they treat him like a king. Thank you to the team. We are forever grateful to you all.
Very pleased with the home/staff - everyone was excellent. The only problem my wife mentioned was that she was the only respite resident in the home, so she could not stay with any other respite people and had to stay with the residents.
The staff at Orchard House are excellent, caring and dedicated. As relatives, we are made to feel very welcome and involved in the care offered. The food is fresh, wholesome and of good variety, plus refreshments. The garden is beautiful, level and a peaceful space for residents and their families. We are really grateful to everyone at Orchard House for their care and kindness.
My mother-in-law attended Orchard House daycare and short-stay respite, so when she was offered a permanent place there, we were very pleased. She settled in very well, and we were happy with the care she received. My mother-in-law enjoyed singing and having fun with the staff, I felt confident that she was happy there, and I was always contacted if there were any issues or concerns.
My mum is here and very well cared for - the staff are excellent. The food is lovely, and the entertainment is brilliant. My mother is very, very happy here. Every time I go out, the welcome from the staff and the care given to Mum are great.
My mum spent a few years at Orchard House before having to move onto a nursing home. I can’t fault the care that my mum received whilst staying there. The staff couldn’t do enough to support her and myself through a difficult period. I would recommend the care home to anyone that wants to ensure that their relative/friend will be cared for as if they were family. Thank you for all of the care you gave my mum.
My father has been at Orchard House for some months. Recently, he became unwell. Staff went above and beyond in trying to get a GP to see him. The care he got during this time was excellent.
Dad has had various periods of respite and day care over several years. Staff are wonderful, so caring and kind. After a recent spell in hospital, dad transferred for respite and there was a huge change for the better in 24 hours. Food and care excellent. He loves going there and it lifts his mood. It feels like he's a member of the family going home. The staff deserve medals. Forever in their debt - Thank you.
All members of staff are kindness itself. They are professional and caring at all times. Exceptional activity leader/organiser.
I cannot recommend Orchard House highly enough, they continuously surpass expectations and show that they care about the residents instead of just being a business. In addition to the high levels of care provided to residents, the staff are supportive of families who are coming to terms with their relatives suffering the effects of old age and dementia, they always have time to talk to you and support you. It really is a lovely place and I sleep easy at night knowing that my Grandmother is well cared for and happy in a safe and supportive environment sensitive to her needs.
