View Full Details of Briarlea Care HomeMy mother inlaw moved in a month ago and has settled lovely she likes it .the staff are friendly and helpful feel we picked right home for her . The meals are good even have meal tasters eg Chinese Italian etc .
My dad went into Briarlea Care Home in March 2023. Moving my dad from his own home into care wasn't something I ever wanted to do but due to his age, frailty and worsening dementia, I had no choice. I am so glad that I found Briarlea as he settled in very quickly and now considers it 'his home'. The staff are kind, very friendly and take really good care of my father. The home holds lots of events and themed food evenings which we can all enjoy together. I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Briarlea to anyone looking for a well-managed, caring home for your loved one.
This in my opinion is an excellent care home. It is an old converted farmhouse, so has the charm and character. The care that is given by the management and team is superb in every way. Staff have been there for years, some going into thirty years. It's like a large family unit and I cannot fault them in any way. Mother, who is almost 100 years old, has been nursed through COVID, pneumonia and chest infections and it's only their devotion to the residents that has pulled her through. 15/10 - just the best!
My mother has been at Briarleea Care Home for over fourteen months, it is a smaller care home that has the feel of a real family home. The staff are really friendly and professional, there is always plenty of staff on duty. They have plenty of entertainment throughout the week to stimulate the residents. It is the little touches that make a difference, such as giving Easter eggs on Easter Sunday. They encourage residents' families to join in many events they arrange such as a summer fete and a Christmas party. They also arrange themed food evenings once a month which is a great concept which makes my mum think she has been out for a meal at a restaurant. A really caring care home.
My mother has been at Briarlea for the past twelve months. She is very happy at Briarlea. There are approximately around 30 residents which makes the care home feel like a real home. There are always plenty of friendly and caring staff looking after the residents. Brialea has lots of entertainment and events every week. One of the great concepts is the themed food evenings. When we attend these evenings my mum thinks she has been out to a restaurant, this is not surprising as the food is always fabulous. They also make it special such as Christmas. During the recent Easter holiday, all residents had an Easter egg. This is typical of how they make residents feel safe and at home. We visited several care homes before we selected Briarlea, and we could not have made a better choice.
Although my husband is still to settle to be being cared for by people other than me, he is well cared for, well fed, and comfortable. The manager and staff work very hard to accommodate my husband's dementia and stubbornness. The home is probably the friendliest I've encountered.
My aunt seems very happy at Briarlea Care Home and is always treated with dignity and respect. She enjoys the many and varied activities and outings, in which she is encouraged to participate. The staff are always welcoming and friendly and the management is excellent. I would recommend Briarlea unreservedly.
My mum has been a resident at Briarlea for over a year now and we cannot fault the staff, care and welcome she has received. It staggers us how much effort and creativity the team put into keeping the residents and their families active. We are kept updated on health matters and spirit on a regular basis but they manage to find a balance of protecting the family from all the details, all of the time. Prior to moving Mum into the home, we found this constant flow of pressure a huge problem- Briarlea manage this so well. We would wholeheartedly recommend Briarlea, a massive thanks to two members of staff in particular and all the amazing team.
A home from home for mum with attentive and interactive staff, something is on for the residents most days to help pass the time and keep them occupied. Absolutely no worries about mum being in there and taken out on any of their visits to cafes and alike, they are now working through a residents I would like to do list they have asked the residents to submit. They hold events where the relatives can attend on a regular basis. It is not a big smart impressive hotel type home the residents there feel they are in a home environment with staff to look after them.
I enjoy living here, I enjoy the food we are provided especially the afters. I also like to go on trips with the other residents.
I've been here for a while, they are very kind and look after us well.
From day one of our enquiry to Briarlea about their offering, through to the day the manager and another staff member carried out their care assessment with my dementia, burdened father, I was impressed. He was welcomed into the Briarlea community, with care, compassion and total dignity. He has now been in residence for a week and our family observations are of, attentive carers, a wonderful community spirit, encouragement to participate, but respect for privacy. Coping with change at 85 years of age, I can only imagine to be anything other than challenging. The team at Briarlea are certainly helping my father make the adjustment to his new surroundings. On behalf of the family, I would like to extend to you all, our heartfelt appreciation. Thank you.
I am very pleased to be living here. I have been here for nine years and have been very happy. My carers are very, very good. They will do anything for you, and nothing is too much trouble for them. I would be pleased to tell anyone what a good place this is.
My mum became a resident at Briarlea on 1st September 2022. The staff have been welcoming, providing kind, individualised, holistic care to my mum. The care home has a homely feel and residents can spend time in the tv room, a quiet room to read, their own rooms or in a lovely garden. There are many activities such as team bake of, copying the tv series, singing old wartime songs and excursions. It is privately owned and small, so the staff know the residents well and are very committed to them. It is excellent value for money too. The staff are happy with low staff turnover, staying for years and years. One member of staff told me they all like their manager. All reassuring to me. Such a happy home!
I am very happy here. The staff are very good and helpful. The food is very good. I like the activities, especially the cooking of food.
A lovely personal, cosy and homely family-run care home. I cannot praise the staff and the manager enough. They are excellent in everything they do. My mum is well looked after and is always clean and tidy. She loves the staff as they really care about what they do. She loves the homecooked food and going to the dining room to eat. She is comfortable and content, leaving the family with no worries about her care. I would highly recommend Birarlea to anyone.
I am very happy here as are the staff, the care manager and the care coordinator. It is nice to see and talk to my friends. I love all my friends here.
I have settled quite quickly into a happy atmosphere and feel quite at home. Thank you.
We are extremely pleased with the care and support being provided. He has been in the home for nearly 3 years and is settled and happy and has a room that meets all of his needs. This includes a separate toilet and washing facilities. The staff are responsive to his needs and caring and supportive and he has a good rapport with them. He takes part in activities and interaction with other residents whilst having privacy and quiet in his own room. During the Covid 19 virus he has received regular checks on his health. The home management have kept us updated on all changes and issues promptly and set up arrangements whereby we could visit securely or have interaction via Zoom/FaceTime etc. We highly recommend Brialea.
I have found the staff to be caring and helpful at the home. My mother is 91 and needs help with all aspects of her life. I was pleased with the speed that the home acted when lockdown came. Although unable to see my mother, we were kept informed via the home's website.
