From day one I have felt very welcome. They are very caring with everyone they look after even if you are not a resident. It has a very warm feeling.
Very caring, friendly, always helpful, very organised, clean, rooms very clean and tidy. Everyone is polite and friendly. No smells. It is a very happy care/nursing home. Cannot find fault in anything.
I would avoid this home. They claim to have an activities programme but no activities are evident. The bar area is for show! Residents are left in their beds or sat in a chair. They left my grandad in bed for months claiming it was his choice or that he was too large for a wheelchair. They constantly called him bariatric and a very large man in front of him but he weighed between 18 and 19 stone - far from 25 stone! We provided a tv and a smart speaker for music but they would rarely turn either on. His hair was greasy and not washed. No referrals were made to physio, OT, etc. unless we actually met the doctors ourselves. They would wedge him in tiny wheelchairs that would rise with him when hoisted. They also cut skin from his finger when cutting his nails causing bleeding and did not inform us. They sent 1 day's worth of diabetic medication on transfer and had none on order, so would have run out. There are a few nice carers, but they have no chance! We referred to the Safeguarding Team, due to our many concerns.
I recently removed my Mom from Appletrees due to lack of 'care'. The residents are bored, there is no stimulation for them at all. As my Mom's care needs increased they were unable to meet them and rather than tell us they just muddled on, which really wasn't helpful.
My aunt is very well cared for. Always clean and dressed, the staff are on hand for any questions we may have.
Appletrees, previously another name, which changed overnight without notice, is an appalling place that is not fit to be called a care home. Management are shocking and really do not care at all. Don't trust a word, they lie. I was told they put up with my mom’s incontinence! My mom would walk round in circles like a dog alongside other residents equally bored, told constantly to sit down. Residents had no stimulation, sat opposite each other wailing for attention. I need to alert anyone who considers this home to run. I saw first-hand how they are all treated. Residents spend their time staring into space. The outdoor space is a small, claustrophobic space, the only accessible place is littered with used cigarettes and broken dirty chairs. They claim to be specialists in care but they have no understanding of dementia, behaviour is reprimanded as if they choose to forget! It’s not enough to feed and water our elderly, they deserve so much more. I really hope the care quality team are keeping their eyes open!
The staff always go above and beyond to help me when I visit, my auntie thinks they’re all wonderful, never has a bad word to say about any of them, always smiles, fresh and clean. My auntie‘s room is always nice, clean and freshly made bed. The food always looks really nice and smells amazing.
Staff are very friendly, helpful and kind to the patients. There is a real sense of 'family'. My sister has received very much encouragement to gain her mobility back, having lost confidence through neglect while in another care facility. This positive treatment, consideration of personal needs and friendship gives a lot of comfort to patients and their families.
Always have found everyone who works here to be most responsive and helpful. If we need to speak to staff, for whatever we might need to question/ask, we have always had a quick meet-up. Everyone is charming and polite. Our family member is treated with the utmost respect and care for her immediate needs. Our family member is very happy here. All her needs are met.
Rooms are clean and tidy. Staff are friendly. Nursing staff are helpful. Mum is warm and comfortable.
There has been much improvement at the home, all of the staff are friendly ,kind and approachable. The new manager really has already made a difference, the place feels cleaner and more homely. My auntie is feeling much more settled and staff have been kind and patient with her.
My mother has been a resident for nearly three years and I have always been impressed with the care and attention given to her by all the staff. Also the management team are very efficient, and are always ready to answer any questions and put us at ease. My father phones every day to inquire about how my mother is and the staff are always pleasant and informative in their response.
Great place, friendly and helpful staff, made Mom feel at home from the start, appears clean and tidy. Rooms are ample, staff tell me they have activities to occupy residents. My mom seems happy and settled now.
Nursing staff very professional, paperwork up to date. Care plans and relevant forms complete. As a relative, I am not sure who manages care staff on a day to day basis who monitors standards of care. Nurses seem to be in the office all the time, care staff with residents. Some care staff are friendly towards visitors (not many). Communication between care staff and residents when carrying out interactions needs to be improved.
Even though the home looks a bit run down and in need of paint, the home/carers are lovely. They respond immediately to any concerns that we may have. Lots of carers always around and excellent nursing staff. Entertainment staff work hard to stimulate more cognitive clients but still spend time with those who are more challenged.
Very happy with the care my Mum receives.
My mother seems very well cared for and looked after. I enjoy visiting her and the staff always appear friendly and kind.
This home is very well run by management and all the staff. It's very clean, any mess made by patients is cleaned up promptly. There are no bad odours in their room or recreation areas. The gardens are quite pleasant to walk around. I visited three or four homes when my wife was admitted ten years ago. I can't fault this home in care or hygiene. I would recommend it to anybody. (You will be made very welcome).
Fantastic care, welcoming and homely. Staff are lovely and helpful. Nice to feel my mum is safe.
