View Full Details of Dunley Hall & Ryans CourtMy parents moved to Dunley Hall in September. The whole experience has been beyond my expectations, they have both settled so well. The care and consideration by the staff is excellent. It's a joy to see my mum and dad so happy and vibrant.
My aunt was treated with dignity, respect and still with maintaining her independence. All the staff were friendly, approachable and professional. She was well looked after during her respite stay and actually improved in the three weeks she was with you. Would definitely recommend.
Since Mum entered Dunley Hall in January 2023, we have been impressed by the hard work of all the staff in caring for her and the other residents. Nothing is too much trouble and several of the staff put themselves out, in all aspects necessary, in running a happy environment.
It is very, very nice to be here. The people here are very nice and I'm very friendly with them. The activities are very good, I put my leg up and down in yoga and I like the singer who comes in to serenade me. I like my room, I've got my telly, my pictures and all of my ornaments so it's very nice. The food is very good, I like it, it doesn't offend me and I don't offend the food. The staff are very, very good. I get on well with the other residents and I've made lots of friends.
I was initially anxious about my aunt going into a home, especially as she was very reluctant, but I have to say I was worrying over nothing as it’s transformed her and given her a new zest for life. The staff are absolutely fantastic, they look after my aunt very well and they are always so welcoming when I go and visit (they even know how I take my cuppa now without me needing to tell them!). The rooms are bright and clean and there are lots of activities for residents to get involved with if they want. My aunt is a new woman and it’s all because of how great this place is. It’s a home away from home for residents and visitors alike. I’m able to visit whenever I like too which is handy with work if I finish late. Highly recommend Dunley Hall and Ryans Court for anyone who is anxious about considering care for a relative.
From my very first day of viewing this wonderful home for my aunty to now, it has lived up to my expectations in all aspects. You couldn't ask for a better place for a loved one to live. The staff are wonderful and caring, they care above and beyond my wishes. The rooms are light, spacious and kept very clean. The entertainment and activities they put on for the residents are amazing too. Thank you to you all, you're all amazing.
Mum moved into Dunley Hall at the end of March with the family not sure how the move would pan out. We need not have worried, on our first visit to the home we just knew it was the right place and environment for Mum, this being crucial for Dad given he could no longer support Mum's care needs at home. We can arrive on any given day, no pre-notice is required and are always made to feel welcome, and a cup of tea/coffee is offered. The home itself is well maintained and exceptionally well run, with lovely grounds and a welcoming feel on entry. We cannot fault the 24x7 care, attention and support given to Mum and how quickly Mum and the team have bonded given her situation. The team cannot do enough to help Mum. We can only reiterate and support other reviews with regards to staff dedication and commitment, care and support provided, meal provision and overall environment. We cannot thank the team enough.
My mum went to Dunley Hall & Ryans Court initially for 2 weeks respite care. We needed her to be somewhere close to our own home in Great Witley, as her home address was near Dudley and I wanted to be able to visit her regularly. Mum ended up staying in the Ryan's Court part of Dunley for 5 weeks. She eventually passed away there after receiving end of life care that was second to none. Every member of staff at Dunley treated Mum with utmost care and respect. Although she was only there for a short time, she managed to make friends and got to know the staff well. I was always welcome at the home at any time of day and felt that the staff couldn't have been kinder and more supportive to Mum, my husband and myself. Any requests I had were attended to immediately and efficiently so that Mum's needs were always catered for. The home is very clean and homely, with a lovely family ethos. I cannot thank the whole team at Dunley enough for everything they did for Mum in her last weeks and days.
The care that my mother received was second to none, especially during her last hours. The carers were so kind and one even stayed over way after her shift had finished to support my family. The home is clean, well kept and updated regularly. I am delighted that we were able to have my mother live here. Well done Dunley and thank you.
In September my nan very reluctantly had to leave her own home to go into residential care, something that she was positively dreading! Upon many recommendations including one from her own GP, we chose Dunley Hall and thank GOD we did. From the minute she arrived the staff couldn’t do enough for us as a family and my nan in particular. She has gone from feeling sad and a little bewildered at the prospect of losing her independence to the happiest I have seen her in a long long time. We are so grateful as a family to the amazing team at Dunley.
Dunley Hall is by far the best care home that I have ever set foot in and between my mom and my dad I have seen my fair share over the years. From the level of care, (brilliant staff ) to the food, to the overall ambience of the place. The residents are looked after so well, it's like one big family! I have arrived for a visit at all times due to work commitments and have always been made to feel very welcome. I have even joined in the Bingo and party games! All in all an excellent facility.
I simply cannot say enough good things about Dunley Hall! Firstly, the surroundings are lovely as is the building itself, but what sets it apart from any care home I have visited in the past are the staff. Nothing is too much trouble for them and the residents are treated wonderfully and compassionately by everyone. I got talking to a lady that was visiting her mother and she told me that during a difficult period for her mum she was allowed to stay over and was looked after magnificently. The rooms themselves and the facilities on hand are as good as any hotel I have stayed in and the lunch that my uncle was served looked delicious! Everyone I spoke to had nothing but glowing praise for the place and after experiencing it first hand I can see why!
My Aunt was at Dunley for the last two weeks of her life and I cannot rate them highly enough. I was allowed to stay with her for her last days and overnight and witnessed the most incredible care from the day team and night teams not just with my Aunt but with other residents to 24/7. The patience displayed by staff was second to none, they were so caring. They also looked after me and treated me as part of the team. My Aunt had been in a much smarter, more expensive home for a while but everything was show, the building, the food - Dunley has the right emphasis on care, the most important thing and provides great value plus delicious home-cooked food. There is a great atmosphere due to the staff getting on well together and working as a team. Supported by District Nurses they were able to deliver end of life care for my Aunt in a safe and loving situation. She was lucky to be there.
I had to rush my father into care the latter part of 2018 and could not have asked for more understanding and compassion that both myself and my father received on admittance to Dunley Hall. The staff could not do enough to make sure he was settled and my mind put at ease. Whenever I visit, I am always greeted with a smile and made to feel welcome. Dad is not the easiest to care for and does provide challenges but I never hear complaints from the staff who do their utmost to care for him. It is evident that the staff really do care about the residents with me often finding them sitting and chatting to them and providing compassion and reassurance when needed. The atmosphere is lovely - a clean, welcoming home set in lovely grounds for the residents to enjoy. Dad is settled and now looks on Dunley Hall as his home.
This is a very friendly home, always made most welcome and the staff are all so lovely. They are more like friends you can always talk to them. My mom feels safe here and doesn't complain about anything which is a good feeling to me.
Carers really do care. Respond quickly when called. Happy atmosphere, Well run home. My sist is very well cared for, in spite of her problems.
The setting and surrounds are a delight, with beautifully maintained grounds in a rural peaceful location. The home itself is clean, full of character, warm and welcoming. The entire building always smells fresh and is a pleasure to visit. Staff here appear to be friendly, at ease, happy in their work. Care is therefore provided with a smile and feels genuine and professional. The residents are always well dressed, as though time and care have been taken by staff, to maintain an individuals dignity and personality. Bedrooms are basic but clean and tidy, many with really pretty views. Recently security has been upgraded and as such, the entrance doors are now secured to prevent "wanderings". Xmas activities were plentiful, varied and really well received by the residents. All in all, this is a beautifully presented home, that feels warm and caring for residents and for visitors. I would imagine it would be difficult to find a better care facility. A total pleasure to visit. Every time.
My father, now 94, has been a resident for 2 months and I'm pleased to have this opportunity to reflect my very positive view of the care being provided at all levels. The staff are a credit to their vocation, always demonstrating sincere, genuine care and concern for residents and visiting family alike.
We moved my aunt to Dunley Hall in January 2017. At her previous Care Home she showed signs of severe stress, frequently asking "get me out of here", and this in a home recommended by a social worker! Her doctor recommended to the home manager that she be allowed to have some quiet time on her own during the daytime, but this did not happen. She was frequently dressed in someone else's clothes, and I saw her items on other residents, in addition, some clothing went missing altogether and it was all marked with her name. I even saw an occasion when she was given a meat item to eat when she is vegetarian. Since her move to Dunley Hall, the change in her demeanour has been remarkable. She always looks well cared for and is visibly happy and content. She loves the gardens at Dunley Hall which are extremely well kept and also the wildlife she can see through the window.
I have used Dunley Hall for almost 2 years in connection with/for my partner. I find staff helpful and friendly each time I visit (at least every 4/5 days) and at varying times. It is never an effort to see staff and I have rarely been in any communial room when a member of staff in not also in there. Super quality furnishings do not make up for caring carers of the standard I have experienced here. My partner is not stressed and is comfortably at ease and bantering with all the staff.
