View Full Details of Hastings Residential Care HomeVery friendly helpful staff from arrival to departure. Lovely room well furnished with well equipped ensuite shower room. Excellent food. Happy to come again.
I cannot praise Hasting enough. The care they have shown to the whole family could not be improved. They cared and provided dignity for my uncle when he passed away. They are continuing with great care of my aunt. All the staff, reception, and care nursing are all caring, and management are a credit to the company and the care sector. Thank you.
I'll keep it short. The staff care everything is exceptional. If you need a care home, come here. Simple! I've been in loads, come here.
My father has been a resident for over a year and he has been so well cared for by the staff here. I have also been well informed of any health issues and incidents. As a family, we feel very welcome and are confident that Dad is happy here. The staff are very attentive, kind and caring. Thank you for all you do for Dad and our family.
I never wanted to put my mum in a care home but was unable to manage at home. I am very happy I did as they can look after her so much better. The carers are so kind and helpful with her, nothing is any trouble. The food is first class and a very good choice. I visit her most days and always very clean and always offer you a drink. I would recommend anyone to use Hastings. Lovely lounges and gardens to sit in. Management very helpful.
Hastings Care Home could not have offered a better service to my grandmother and our family. Sadly, she passed away recently. During her final days, it was a privilege and an honour to watch the love and support that the team at Hastings offered her. Nothing was too much trouble. They welcomed us in as a family and supported us through the final journey. There are many that could be mentioned, but the love that the staff showed will stay with me forever. Thank you, Hastings, for caring for Grandma during the last leg of her journey. I am forever grateful.
I moved in 9 months ago and am very happy living here. Staff are very friendly. Feel supported but I have been able to maintain my independence at the same time. The place is very clean, the food is excellent.
Hastings was a splendid environment that enhanced my partner's convalescence after a long period in hospital. As a result of the enduring quality of care she received at all levels she has been able to leave the Care system and return home in early June 2024. I have nothing but praise for the staff who worked on my partner's floor from the most junior to the most senior. The compassion, patience, concern, and commitment of all concerned were second to none. My partner very much appreciated the flexibility of the arrangements that permitted outings with me and the value of the rich programme of daily activities available to residents. Above all I valued the depth of insight of senior staff as regards positive changes in her rehabilitation, their wise advice, and the confidence they gave me to undertake the next stage in the process. This is a very positive review. I do not have a single reservation.
I hold the staff at Hastings Care Home in the highest regard. They are always kind and do everything possible to look after my mother. They make me welcome whenever I visit and communicate clearly and frequently with me. My mother is extremely happy and well cared for by very good, kind people.
Over a two-month period, it's possible to grow to appreciate the overall quality of the care and attention provided for my wife. This is especially true of the professionalism of team leaders and staff. Regular discussions with staff provide a profound view of the commitment to really studying the needs of all the individual residents. I look forward with confidence that this will continue.
Mum and Dad decided to stay at Hastings after 2 weeks of respite. 'It's like a hotel here' was what they said. Since then they haven't regretted their decision. Dad is needing more support, whilst Mum has found a great blend of being looked after and being independent. Caring and conscientious is how they described the carers today and that is what I see when I visit. They treat my parents with respect and friendship, they are very caring and do what they can to ensure they get the best care. There is a good management team who are easy to talk to. They run resident and relative meetings and regularly visit the residents too, they are always striving to make life in the home as good as possible, taking into account individual needs. It has enabled me to be mum and dad's daughter again, spending quality time with them.
My mother has suffered from Dementia for 8 years and when we moved to Malvern 12 months ago we needed a suitable care home which would be able to look after her. We looked at a few and overall in terms of what was affordable and could be funded by the Council and quality of care, Hastings was by far the best. My mother's room is nice, en-suite and spacious and the place is always very clean and hygienic. The home is in very good condition and has a nice garden at the back and also nice communal rooms on the ground floor where my mother stays. But what makes this place for me is the staff, they have been fantastic and really do the best for my Mum. They are so supportive and contact me regularly with any problems so I always know what's going on. In truth, they are lovely and a lot of them talk of how fond they are for my mother. I can't ever thank them enough for what they have done and would have no hesitation in recommending Hastings to anyone in need of care for a loved one.
My husband has been a resident at Hastings Residential Care Home for almost two years. He entered during the Covid pandemic which was a very difficult time for all concerned. As his dementia developed he became at times, aggressive and uncooperative. Throughout this period the care staff always remained calm, kind and amazingly patient. During these later months, my husband has received nothing but outstanding love and care. The standard of palliative care has been exceptional. Kindness has also been extended to me making it a real pleasure when visiting my husband.
The home is always welcoming. Staff are curious and helpful to residents and visitors. At weekends I feel the staff are more stretched than during the week.
The home supported us in getting together on Boxing Day as a family for the first time in circa three years. My mother is unable to travel to us, so we had the use of their Orangery for the day, doing all the usual present openings etc. The home then provided us all with a meal and wine. All the staff were helpful and excellent as usual. This was so good for my mother, who really brightened up in the weeks before the event in anticipation of seeing us all, sons, wives, grandchildren and dogs.
We are very happy with the care and service provided by Hastings. My mum always comes across as being happy and content there. The care and kindness. The staff show to Mum and ourselves is excellent. We are very pleased she is so well looked after.
My husband had a pleasant, if unremarkable week. More worryingly was that the medication tray we returned to me with two nights of medication not given/taken. I have a photo of the tray.
Mum has been in Hastings for 9 months and has felt very well looked after from the very start. Staff are interested, caring and cheerful - they all seem to enjoy working here even though I know it cannot always be wonderful for them. Residents are always addressed by name which emphasises the personal touch that the staff give. Mum frequently tells me how lucky I was to find such a nice place for her and the food is good too - occasionally I remind her that it was also the result of a lot of research! Hastings also did a commendable job of keeping residents safe from Covid whilst they achieved full vaccination status.
I cannot praise everyone at the home for the way my mum has been looked after and I know that she is completely safe and cared for in the correct manner. I have always been kept well informed and treated respectfully.
Dad has been living in Hastings Residential Care Home for 8 months now - initially on a temporary placement, but following my mother's death this became permanent. As another reviewer has commented, at first sight Hastings' modern exterior appears a bit impersonal, but the whole place is beautifully kept with a lovely garden and the practicality and safety of the layout more than outweighs its utilitarian outside appearance. Most importantly, the care he receives is excellent. Dad has dementia and found it difficult to accept living away from home at first, but the staff were very patient with him and are always positive and encouraging. Within a few weeks he was socialising significantly more than he used to when still living with my mother and also eating much better - thanks to the excellent quality of the meals. He likes to read the weekly menu sheet and look forward to his favourites! He was brilliantly supported to be able to attend my mother's funeral for which we will always be grateful.
