Overall, I am very happy with the home. My mum was not keen on the idea at first but the care staff have been lovely with her and she enjoys the their company. Mostly she is very content, although she is currently unhappy because she is not allowed to feed the birds.
Not as good as usual. We arrived as arranged at 3pm but the room was not ready. 1. No TV cable 2. No key to lock bedside cabinet 3. No emergency button 4. No water jug 5. No shower chair 1-4 were resolved while I waited. 5. I had to show my annoyance after being told one was not available. Eventually, one was found. The armchairs are are very hard and uncomfortable. A young, very helpful and kind member of staff found another chair. If I could name him I would. He deserves to be praised. I do know his name. No footrests were available, I provided one from home. My mother is 100 and needs very little assistance. She enjoyed her stay, the food and staff are very good. I feel you should know about the issues I have raised. For £3,400 I don't expect to have to complain.
Dad is a permanent resident of Heathlands. When Dad moved into Heathlands of his own choice because he had been very ill and not safe or happy living at home where he was lonely and debilitated he was not only weak but not at all well! All of the staff have looked after him so well that he has put on weight, joins in with activities, walks with a frame, likes his home and embraces his new routine. We can't thank the staff enough for keeping Dad safe and looking after not just his health but mental well-being.
Mum has been in Heathlands twice now for respite. I have been delighted by the care she has received. The staff are great, really make you feel welcome. Mum enjoys the food, baths, and company. She is booked in again soon.
3 years ago, my mum was having a really difficult time coping with life due to a dementia diagnosis. She was fortunate enough to be given a place at Heathlands Residential Care Home. Since moving into Heathlands, mum has become healthier, happier and is living life to the fullest. She is the happiest that I have seen her in a very long time. The rooms are clean and cosy. The main areas of Heathlands are clean and do not have the care home smell that some homes have. The staff are amazing and approachable. Nothing is too much for them. My daughter and I certainly appreciate ALL that they do.
Heathland is a very friendly and supportive place. The staff have all been helpful both with regard to my queries and in supporting my mother. The food is generally very good, particularly the homemade cakes. When activities are available these have been week thought out and Mum enjoys them. The environment is very clean and unlike many homes is no underlying smell. I love the fact that there is a resident cat and so does Mum.
Very attentive and helpful - no complaints. Allowed freedom to go down into the town or to visit family. Food is great (especially catering for a vegetarian). Bedroom is large and cleaned on an almost daily basis. Staff are friendly and happy to chat.
Both myself and my father were happy with his weeks of respite care and looking forward to returning.
All the family are amazed at how well Mum is. She was on death's door just after Christmas and had virtually given up. With the care that Heathlands has provided she has made an astonishing turn around we are so grateful to all the staff at Heathlands.
I haven't felt so relaxed and well cared for in a very long time. I feel I'm surrounded with love and kindness.
As a wife of a resident, I know Heathlands well. So when I had to have surgery I booked myself for 2 weeks respite. The care and attention I received were really excellent. The chef and kitchen went out of their way to accommodate the special diet I had to have. As I already knew most of the team, it was like being looked after at home. I would not hesitate to recommend Heathlands for resident or respite care.
Very new experience for our mother who has moved her nursing home due to financial reasons but Heathlands seems to be very homely and friendly staff with lovely surroundings.
Our mum has been with Heathlands for over 2 1/2 years. A culture shock for her and us, going in under Covid restrictions. My main concern in the early days was the TV remote kept disappearing so I sorted that one out. But more seriously it's hard for me to understand how my mum's carers do what they do, both the boys and girls have their work cut out for them, thank you.
My father-in-law has been in Heathlands for almost 2 years and is very happy there. It was his choice to enter care and has not had any regrets. We have been impressed by the ethos of care that is clearly evident in the home and is shown by each staff member. He has been cared for during a spell of illness and COVID. The home suffered the lack of a manager for a while but still functioned seamlessly. With a new team in place it seems it will go from strength to strength. Activities are good, there is entertainment from time to time. Food is excellent and the team members regularly go the extra mile to see residents have the best care possible.
I've had a very good stay, well looked after. The food has been lovely and catered to my needs. I've enjoyed getting to know staff and other residents. Would recommend.
The care, attitude and attention of the staff were exemplary. Nothing was too much trouble. The respite care rooms were attractive and very comfortable.
Overall happy. I resent not being able to get in, and out, of the front door when visiting at weekends. At times, I can be waiting several minutes to get out. Please man reception! Activities are lacking. Staff need a staff room. They sit in the lounges on their breaks and I feel uncomfortable disturbing them. Lack of staff.
Mum has been very settled and made to feel very welcome by all staff at Heathlands Residential Care Home. Mum has gained weight and loves all her meals and cups of tea throughout the day. I found it incredibly hard to give up my caring for Mum but Heathlands staff supported me alongside Mum. I would love, in time, for her to have a bedroom downstairs but that is a minor matter in the scheme of things. Mum is happy, loves chatting to all the staff and my family cannot thank you all enough.
Very good, a very nice place. The staff are very helpful. Food is excellent. Any problems are sorted quickly. A high standard of care is provided. I am very happy and comfortable here.
