View Full Details of Redwood House Care HomeMom has been here for over 3 years and we love it. It's a real home from home, Moms well cared for and happy. The staff are always warm and welcoming with a nice cup of tea. Highly recommend this home especially if you want your loved one to be treated like a family member.
The staff are great, always willing to help. Mam has been settled, well cared for, and happy since she moved into Redwood.
Mom has been at Redwood House for 3 years and I couldn't think of a better-suited care home for her. It has an instant family feel as soon as you walk through the door. The staff are residents are always happy, laughing, and joking with one another. I always feel welcomed when I walk through the door. I can't fault anything and I'm so happy Mom is settled and content.
My Mother-in-law has been here for three years, and in that time the staff has been excellent. They are very caring and do their utmost to make her time here as comfortable as possible. She is very happy here and she sees all the carers as her friends. The food that is served here in my opinion is very good. I have been invited to have lunch with her and I found the quality and variety of the food to be very good. Her accommodation is substantial and fills all her needs. Also, they provide a varied entertainment schedule, which the inmates enjoy. All in all an excellent facility, very comfortable and fulfilling for the residents.
What this care home lacks in modern facilities it makes up with in the excellent standard of care offered by the staff to each and every resident. I have witnessed staff having worked long shifts under very trying circumstances remain calm and caring and have the utmost respect for the residents. The staff are an absolute asset in this home and I cannot praise them enough. The majority of the residents have dementia and some can be incredibly demanding and sometimes aggressive, this team are patient and kind and the feeling is very family. Sadly my relative passed away in their care and they handled this terribly sad time with such professionalism and respect. My partner and I are sorry that we have no excuse to visit them anymore as after such a long time we grew to feel that they were good friends. Many of the staff attended the funeral in their own time - a dedication like this should not be taken for granted. In my opinion, they need a big pay rise.
Sadly my mother had to go into a care home this year and I couldn’t have chosen a better one for her. My mother is loving it at Redwood House. She is so happy there and settled straight in. The staff there are amazing and really care for all the residents and go above and beyond their duty. It is like one big happy family. The food is amazing and plenty of it. The bedrooms are good and very clean. The staff are so welcoming to family members who visit. Most important my Mother is happy there and settled. Well done to the team at Redwood House.
My relative is having good, quality care at Redwood House. He suffers from dementia and Alzheimer’s so we rely heavily on feedback from the carers on site. We get this in abundance. They never tire of our endless phone calls and random times for visiting. They understand his needs well and we fully trust them to care for him in our absence. There are plenty of activities on offer should my relative wish to join in. This home is the best place for him in our opinion. We can’t thank the staff enough.
My mom moved into Redwood in August 2023 as she was finding it increasingly difficult to manage in her own home. Since moving there, she has received excellent care whilst allowing her to remain as independent as possible. She is treated with kindness and respect by all the staff and they go above and beyond to meet her individual needs and facilitate her sometimes unusual requests. As a family, we are very grateful for the high standard of support provided by the team at Redwood.
Having looked at a number of care homes for my sister-in-law, I quickly realised that the staff would be able to meet her needs for independence but 24-hour care. The residents have a wide range of needs but are treated by the amazing staff with tact, patience and empathy. As with all care homes, a number of the residents are incontinent and this is dealt with as quickly as possible. The safety of the residents is paramount and this does require a little patience on the part of residents who seek to explore further a field so that a member of staff is available to walk with them. Frustrating at first for those used to going out when they want and not prepared to wait but it is explained to the resident the reason for the wait. I cannot praise enough the care residents receive both from the staff and the medical attention from the surgery, the visiting hairdresser and chiropodist. So pleased that a room became available to enable her to be discharged from hospital.
My aunt had been at Redwood House for almost 2 years. She always felt very lucky to be so well cared for and she loved the activities and food. I cannot put into words how wonderful the staff have been with my aunt, they got the balance just right on letting her be as independent as possible but at the same time keeping her safe. We're extremely thankful that she was able to end her days at Redwood surrounded by the very special people who cared for her. As a family, we will always be very grateful for the care and attention my aunt has received and this has given us peace of mind. We cannot thank the staff enough, they really are very special.
My experience with the care home is excellent in every way with very helpful and friendly staff. All I can say is if I had to go into a care home I would choose this one. I would say that this is one of the best care homes I know.
My father was a resident at Redwood House Residential Home and lived there for almost 12 months. The care he received was excellent. During the difficult time in January when he sadly passed away, the staff and management were so supportive and showed so much empathy. My father made great friends whilst being at Redwood House Residential Home and settled in with other residents quicker than anticipated. My father had terminal cancer and needed a lot of support and care in the latter months. I could not thank the staff enough for what they did for me and my family.
The council found Redwood House in Barnt Green for my elderly mother. On the first day, mum had a fall. A day later another fall. Mum did not suffer from falls prior to this. I went to see mum, she couldn't even get up. Prior to this, mum was walking using a metal frame and sometimes just a walking stick. A few days into staying at Redwood House, mum could no longer walk. Mum had the same clothes on for five days and was unwashed. Mum was very upset and I went to take her out for the day, but she smelt and looked unclean. I had to take mum home and wash her myself outside in the garden, whilst still keeping her dignity as she couldn't climb any stairs or walk. I called Redwood House and spoke to staff and management. They were not overly concerned. Staff and management refused to listen to my concerns and still forced me to pay the outstanding fees for neglecting my mum. I have to question the lack of care from Redwood House, Cherry Hill Road, B45 8LL. I'm extremely disappointed with the way they have dealt with my complaint saying that it didn't happen when it clearly did. Very poor service.
My mother has been a resident at the care home for three years since then, the care she has received has been top class. We have been overwhelmed by how happy Mom has been, she is well fed, kept clean and tidy. The staff are so caring, always having time for all the residents, from carers to cleaners, be couldn't be more pleased that Mom is at Redwood House.
My experience at Redwood House has so far been excellent. My mother went into the Care Home on 28th December 2018 because the Dementia had gotten too bad for my father to deal with. All Carers have been very good and extremely helpful.
