View Full Details of Ravenhurst Residential Care HomeThe staff at Ravenhurst really go above and beyond with my Mum. Far more than they're obliged to do. I always know mum is in the best hands and Ravenhurst. All the staff are loving towards her. Thank you Ravenhurst!
Mom stayed here for a week's respite in mid-November. She thoroughly enjoyed her stay stating that the staff were lovely and nothing was too much trouble. The home was spotlessly clean. Meals were lovely and plenty of options were available. Mom would happily stay again. From a daughter's perspective, it was great to see Mom looking happy and relaxed.
Both of my parents spent time here in their later years, my dad for just over a year and my mum for about 18 months. Both were very well cared for and although would have preferred to have remained in their own home, enjoyed and appreciated the care they received. All of the team, management carers and other staff, were always very friendly and put the care and comfort of the residents above all else. As with all care homes it is the staff that make the difference and at Ravenhurst they do have a very good team.
Ravenhurst is a very welcoming home. It's always very clean, and the food there is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble if I need to ask anything. The staff are always dressed smartly. My mother has been in Ravenhurst for over ten years and is very happy there. Staff dress her lovely. She also enjoys the entertainment they do there. Keep up the good work staff; your work is appreciated.
Both my Mum and Mother-in-law are residents in Ravenhurst, both with very different needs. My mother-in-law is very frail and needs support with her everyday care but is fully in control of her faculties! The whole team treat her with respect, giving her personalised care as and when she wants it, that includes what she wants to eat. As a family, we couldn't ask for more. My mum has advanced dementia and has lost total concept of who she is, who her family are and where she is. I cannot praise the staff enough, not only do they work hard to accommodate her needs, but they are really interested in getting to know more about the person Mum was and her life. I cannot praise The staff member who looks after the activities enough. Even though it is so hard to communicate with Mum she works tirelessly to try and engage her and adapt to her needs. It is so hard when choosing a Care Home for your loved ones, but I would have no hesitation in recommending it here, I feel very supported and cared for.
My father attended Ravenhurst for a period of five weeks in February 2024. What an enjoyable experience he had, he informed me that nothing was too much trouble for the care staff, the rooms were kept clean and tidy. The food choice was brilliant, washing was freshly laundered every day and put back in his wardrobe. The level of care provided was excellent. Care and compassion were shown throughout my father's stay. My father sadly passed away in this care home but staff were comforting him throughout which has become a real comfort for me and my family and left us with nice memories. I would highly recommend this care home to others.
Ravenhurst, amazing care home! My mom was a resident at the above for over 12 months. In Mom's words. ‘Please do not worry about me, I am very well looked after, I feel safe and nothing is too much trouble for the lovely staff. There is always an activity or entertainment to be involved with if I so wish. The food and care is excellent.’ Those words from my mom meant everything to us. All the staff are very friendly and approachable. We rang Mom most nights and the staff were always very happy to take the phone to her. We visited several times a week and always found Mom, happy, clean and content and there was always an activity in progress. Mom went out on a number of arranged trips which she always enjoyed. The home was always clean and tidy and if you needed to speak to a member of staff they were always available. We were always informed and updated on any concerns which involved Mom.
Ravenhurst has a very friendly and homely atmosphere. Residents and relatives are made to feel 'part of a family'. The staff always endeavour to accommodate individual needs, including with activities that take place throughout the day in order to ensure residents preferences are listened to and addressed. They are very quick to identify any changes/early onset of illness and take appropriate and swift action to resolve any problems and keep relatives up-to-date. We are very grateful for all the care and support given to our Mum.
The care and attention given to my sister-in-law on her return to Ravenhurst after a short stay in hospital in January 2023 was excellent and I'm sure contributed significantly to her regaining health and enjoyment of life. Thank you.
A very good care home, with good facilities and caring staff. Clean, friendly and well-run. Both my late mother and my father used this home and have been treated with respect and dignity. I have been kept well informed on the whole about their health and well-being and they supported my mother, who suffered from dementia throughout. COVID outbreaks were handled well, residents seem happy and more activities are now taking place, past lockdowns.
My dad is 89 and has dementia. He stayed at Ravenhurst Care Home for 3 weeks to give me a rest from caring for him. During his stay, I felt completely secure that my dad was being very well cared for. I was able to ring or call and see him whenever I wanted to. Each time I rang whoever answered the phone knew exactly who my dad was and was able to give me detailed information about how he was. The staff were so friendly and caring and the manager was exceptional at ensuring that not only my dad's needs were catered for but mine too. I had complete peace of mind during Dad's stay that he was safe and well, which I very much needed. I would like to thank all the staff at this home for their care for both of us and wouldn't hesitate to recommend Ravenhurst to anyone looking for care for a relative.
A warm friendly atmosphere, with the same familiar faces. My mother settled in instantly and loves it there. The food is amazing and as much or as little as you want. There is always something going on, arts and crafts, bingo and themed days. Trips out if you want. My mother has never looked so well and content. Staff are amazing, many have worked here for over 20 years (which is always a good sign).
Thorough, very welcoming and very friendly, and the staff are very efficient. My mother is looked after brilliantly and seems to be enjoying her time in the care home, with frequent trips and visits out being the norm.
When I originally came here, I was very lonely, very low and unable to do very much. Now I have many friends and am happy helping with the activities. I have lots of laughter with the staff through banter and I often cheer up the residents too. At home, I only had meals for one but here there is a daily variety of tasty meals. The carers cater for each of our individual needs as they arise. Who wouldn't be happy here?
My father thoroughly enjoyed his stay with you. Much to his own surprise, he enjoyed and joined in with the activities on offer. The staff were considerate and caring in accommodating his needs.
My sister-in-law went to Ravenhurst last September (2021) from hospital. She had suffered three falls in six months and could no longer weight - bear. She was being hoisted and used a catheter. Within a few months, the staff had got her up and transferred and she is now a new woman. She walks using her from, is independent in her personal care and is happy and content. The staff are wonderful to her and I am delighted.
My mother has been in this care home for more than five years and I can't thank them enough for the care shown to her and the other residents. The care shown is next to none its better than I could provide myself. During covid, my mother's home did very well and no one passed away from covid which was amazing.
It was a sad/worrying time when Mum lost her independence and had to be admitted to a care home. We looked at other homes, but having visited Ravenhurst, we knew that was where we wanted her to be. The receptionist warmly and professionally showed us around the bright, clean premises, giving us confidence with the high standard of care. Now six months after, Mum is content and happy, always looking clean and smart. Staff are quick to act on any queries regarding welfare or health issues. I do feel staff are rather stretched, especially at mealtimes, but they're smiling with a positive attitude.
My cousin moved to Ravenhurst from another care home, and she is clearly so much happier here, with a lot more social contact with other residents; staff are friendly and caring, and the home is good at keeping relatives informed.
