View Full Details of Nightingale Court Care HomeMy Dad has been at Nightingale Court care home since the 15th March this year. What I experienced that whole time was nothing short of exceptional. Every single member of staff demonstrated love, compassion, care, consideration, thoughtfulness and dignity. Everyone, particularly the manager and her seniors, and co-ordinator, the exact same respect to me during every minute of my time in that room where Dad spent his last few days and I can honestly say I felt enveloped by the love that radiated from their care. The ladies were finishing their shifts and returning in their nightwear when they thought the time was close to be there for Dad and myself. This is above and beyond all expectations and I feel that you should be aware of the incredible dedication to their jobs. What they do at that Care Home is above and beyond anything I had expected or heard of before. They made an unbearable situation, bearable and I will always be grateful. Thank you to all.
My father has been a resident since September 2023 he suffers from dementia and was recently diagnosed with bowel cancer. The managers and all staff are amazing, friendly, caring and supportive and can not do enough for my dad and also me. I was devastated when Dad went to a home felt guilty and had thoughts, will he be okay? Would he forget me? Will they cuddle him when he's upset? Managers and staff put my mind at ease straight away. Called me, and gave me updates on his care when I had a virus and couldn't visit and when I visit they always ask if I'm okay and tell me what Dad's been up to. Dad ..well he is living his best life, made lots of friends, loves to chat with all the staff and often sits in the manager's office with a cuppa, what more can I ask for? To hear him sing again I know I have chosen the best home. When my mom passed away he became depressed and didn't talk much there has been a big change in him and cannot thank the staff enough.
Following a dementia diagnosis and a number of falls at home resulting in spells in hospital, NHS Social worker sourced Nightingale Court Care Home for my elderly aunt (93 years old). The staff are very friendly and the manager is very upbeat and comes across as organised, enthusiastic and proud of the home. My aunt has settled very quickly in what was a very difficult decision for the family. The social aspects are ideal for my aunt as she is a very friendly lady.
We have tried a number of times to phone the care home and were informed that staff in charge was out. We rang back an hour later to be informed again they were out still, so requested a callback. No answer, so we rang social services, when also ringing the care home again later we were informed that the staff had finished for the day at 4:30 pm. We feel this shows bad manners when avoiding a ring back from residents' family and this is not the first time this has happened.
My mother was a resident for just over ten years, having been diagnosed with Early Onset Dementia, my mother had been at another home previously who were just not equipped to care for my mother correctly and with support from a specialist nursing unit we managed to secure a place at Nightingale Court. Within a few weeks of being at Nightingale Court, we could see an improvement and she lived comfortably there until she passed in December 2022. I can not praise the staff there enough, all of the team are incredible. The care, compassion and respect you held for Mum, and the other residents is something to witness and I am sure the families of all the other residents will agree. Nightingale Court provides a lovely relaxed place for residents to call home at a time when it is so much needed, and the team should be very proud of what they do and how they do it. I can not recommend this place enough. Thanks for everything guys.
I had cared for my mother for nine years after my father died, but recently it became apparent that I was physically unable to look after her properly, as her mobility was deteriorating and I suffered a knee injury. I, therefore, had to make the heartbreaking decision to organise long-term care. It was the most difficult and stressful time of my life. We inspected various care homes and were invited to inspect Nightingale Court. After our visit and chat with the management, my brother and I decided to take up their offer of a placement. We are so glad that we did. Everyone has made my mother and the family very welcome. After a few days of settling in, and getting to know my mother's needs, we could see that she was getting used to her room and surroundings and liked all of the staff. This made us feel happier. We can honestly say that all of the staff, without exception, are extremely kind, caring and attentive, and my mother is looked after very well.
Mum was admitted to Nightingale Court Care Home following the unexpected passing of my stepfather. The hardest thing I have ever done was leaving mum in Nightingale that day, with people I did not know, knowing that being in care was the last thing she ever wanted. But from day one the carers and staff were lovely. There was a very genuine feel about the people and the place and it ticked so many boxes. 10 months on, I like that mum is treated with love and dignity and when she is upset they give her lots of hugs. Mum has her own ensuite room which is always warm. They asked me for mum’s life history so they could get a better feel for her interests. There are 3 lounges, quiet, TV and chatty. It is close to the station and amenities so you can people watch. It is clean and there is a dedicated activities coordinator. I like Luna the Rabbit and that it is safe and secure. There are also lots of other residents for company. It has been a real partnership approach to mum's care. I feel very included.
My nan moved into Nightingales 5/6-years ago after struggling at home. All the staff and management were fantastic and accommodating to us as the family. My nan's behaviours have settled, and she always seems very happy in the home. She has some strong bonds with the current staff, and they have all been very devoted during the pandemic. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Nightingales to anyone who wants fantastic care for their loved ones.
I dreaded the day when Mom's dementia had got to the point where she was not safe to be living on her own. This was just at the start of the pandemic and Nightingale Court Care Home pulled out all the stops. There was no need for me to have worried. The staff and management were so accommodating and friendly to Mom and the family, we would not have wanted her to be anywhere else. The team are amazing in our opinion and Mom seems happy and content and safe! I have already and will continue to recommend Nightingale Court.
The care staff/cares are excellent with my wife, they go out of their way to make it easy for both residents and visitors Our 49th wedding anniversary was at the care home and they put on a buffet lunch for both residents and visitors, the lunch was excellent, they went beyond helpful in as much as they printed some photos of some of our holiday. My wife really enjoyed it she wouldn't sit down but danced the afternoon away. I cannot recommend the care hone enough for what they did for us. I will only recommend it for your loved ones
My Mum has been a resident at Nightingale Court Care Home for 3 years. She settled in quickly thanks to the caring and attentive staff. The home is very clean and staff are always friendly and professional. I would not hesitate to recommend Nightingale Court to anyone looking for an excellent care home for their relative.
My stepmother was accepted into Nightingale Court following some difficult behaviour in a previous care home, she has now completely calmed down and is very comfortable in her new home. All of the staff are friendly and kind. It is obvious that my stepmother now has a special bond with her main carer, which is comforting to us all as she cannot now remember her family. Even through the difficult times of the last eighteen months Nightingale Court have done everything they can to accommodate my father's visits to his wife. The care home may not be “posh” but it has wonderful staff and a homely atmosphere and that is what matters to the residents. I would recommend this care home to anyone.
My husband has been a resident for more than two years and I have found the staff to be very friendly and understanding, nothing has been too much trouble. Whilst visiting has not been so easy the last 18 months, now things are getting easier I have had no problems making appointments to visit and the staff have been very diligent with checks before allowing entry.
My mum went into Nightingale Court Care Home for two weeks respite in May 2021 and became permanent in June. She settled straight away much to the amazement of my brothers and myself which was a huge relief. The management and staff are very caring and do their very best to accommodate Mum’s needs and our visits during these very difficult times and restrictions due to the Covid pandemic. I thank you all, you're amazing.
My mom is a resident at the Nightingale following a request for emergency respite care, how blessed were we all that The Nightingale was chosen! I can't find a single fault. The manager and all of the staff are excellent, can't do enough to accommodate even the smallest request. My mom has settled amazingly well which has been a huge relief to all of the family. Mom says that the home is spotlessly clean and she is being treated like 'one of the family'. She's eating everything that is put in front of her and has even gained weight! This sums up this home a treat - it really is home from home. Keep up the good work, you will never know how appreciated it really is!
I have been impressed by the measures the home has taken during Covid restrictions to keep residents safe and well whilst at the same time enabling family and friends to maintain contact with their loved ones.
Fantastic home. My dad was very well looked after. Staff were lovely and caring. Can't recommend Nightingale Court Care Home enough.
My sister was in Nightingale Court for 5 years, she passed away 1st September 2018 after receiving the best care possible. ALL the staff were so kind and compassionate. Her end of life care was wonderful. Very dignified.T he staff work hard all the time in, sometimes, very stressful situations. 100% for everything they do, they are all lovely and led by the best manager who leads by example.
