My husband has been at Westmead for over a year and I have always found the staff to be extremely caring and friendly. He is well looked after, clean and enjoys his food. There are activities which help to keep him stimulated and although he does not join in everything he is encouraged to do so.
We've been very impressed with the standard of care at Westmead; the staff all seem to genuinely care about the health and wellbeing of the residents, and our half sister has been well looked after. The food and activities are good too and she has been very happy here, which is a joy to see. We would definitely recommend Westmead to anyone looking for a safe, comfortable and caring place for their relative.
Whenever we visit, my half-sister always seems to be very happy and well-fed. The staff seem to be very caring and attentive. We receive information if she has a fall or anything similar, which is very reassuring.
We have full peace of mind knowing that my parents are getting the best of care at Westmead Residential Care Home. The staff always go the extra mile. They have both flourished due to the variety of activities and the care from the staff.
Excellent home. Decor, cleanliness, general atmosphere. Lovely range of activities and brilliant activities coordinator. Garden is lovely - best I've seen in a care home. Much better than a similar type of care home I've seen in North-West England. All together a superior experience!
I cannot thank the staff enough for the excellent care my mum received at Westmead. This was our first experience of respite and I was really worried but I was put at ease. I phoned after but never felt like I was hindering the staff and they always had time to talk and tell me what Mum had been doing. I also loved the photos I received when we collected her.
We are lucky to have found Westmead. Staff friendly, helpful and always cheerful, keen to help both residents and visitors. We were put at ease. Food was good and healthy, all usually eaten. Drinks being brought around on a regular basis. Rooms always clean and tidy. My wife went on trips on the minibus local beauty spots. She enjoyed the fete and many activities, of which there are many. On visiting we sat out in the garden which is well maintained. We will use again in the future with apprehension. Thank you very much.
My partner was on a week-long respite break. We were treated well and respectfully. The staff were polite and friendly and helped my partner to settle despite a few initial teething problems. They dealt with challenges appropriately, and I was kept informed throughout the stay. I would definitely consider Westmead for future respite breaks.
My Mother had a very pleasant time in Westmead for me to have a holiday. I had peace of mind knowing her needs were going to be well cared for.
Westmead is a wonderful place. The staff were amazing with my grandma always going above and beyond to help us with literally anything. Kate the entertainment organiser did a fantastic job at keeping everyone busy and entertained and it was so lovely to see her doing 1 to 1 with them as and when she could. And Porche the manager was like no other. The staff treated grandma as if she were their own family member. Grandma was well and truly looked after here by an incredible team! And we could never thank them enough for everything they did for her and us as a family.
My husband came here for respite care for a few days. The staff were really friendly and helpful and the facilities are very good. Food was tasty and he was given the option of eating in his room or in the dining room. He would be happy to stay here again.
I visit two to three times a week, I always find my mother clean and happy with her care. The activities are outsanding, a lot of thought goes into them. My mother seems well fed, there is always tea and coffee coming round. The staff are very friendly and very nice to my mum and me. I'm glad I chose Westmead.
Lovely caring staff. My husband couldn't be looked after anywhere else. All care excellent. Staff interact beautifully. Nothing too much trouble. He loves them all. And if he is happy we are. Thank you all.
Residents treated with respect, kindness, and wonderful care. So many activities to keep residents busy, mobile, and connected to the outside world. Visits to museums, and stately homes. Visits to markets and shopping centres. Gentle walks along the river to see and hear the birds. Visits by children from local schools. Concerts from local singing groups. As well as pampering sessions for their well-being. Quizzes to help with memory. Art for joy and satisfaction. All this and wonderful staff.
Mum unfortunately could no longer be at home due to onset dementia and after several falls it was decided a home was the best place. I had heard from a few people about Westmead and thankfully the home's manager visited Mum in hospital and offered her a place there and then. She is still a little unsettled but I know it will take time to adjust. But she has a better social life now thanks to one member of staff in particular arranging more daily events than she ever had. She's out and about in the mini bus with trips to a garden centre in Tewkesbury, ice creams at Church fields, sing along rides and much more. The entertainment and activities inside the home are brilliant. The care she is receiving is very good and when Mum is down she gets lots of hugs. The menu always looks good and the smells from the kitchen make your stomach rumble. Thank you all for looking after Mum.
My mom from the minute she arrived was treated with kindness with love and support. She found it very difficult in the early days but every one of the staff from the top down, even the residents, helped to make her feel welcome. Her care was excellent, the carers spot and act on even the smallest issues quickly and refer to medical staff if there is a need or deal with it themselves if they can. Communication was very good. She always said the food was excellent and also the laundry service. The activities are amazing, from fun games to trips out to some amazing places with all abilities catered for. Mom loved going out for a coffee. All the staff also take time to care for family members it can be quite upsetting but they have all supported me through the tough times which I will be forever grateful. I am sure I made the best decision to place Mom at Westmead.
I cannot speak too highly of Westmead Residential Care Home. Making the decision to place a parent in full time care and which home is an extremely difficult decision. After looking at many reviews and taking advice from friends, we visited several homes before settling on Westmead. From the initial visit and contact with several members of staff, it was apparent that the level of individual care is excellent. The staff are probably the most important aspect of any care home, and in the case of Westmead they are outstanding. I can honestly say that since moving into Westmead, Mum's quality of life and general wellbeing has improved immensely.
My husband's cousin came to you in June. I visit her every week, can't praise the care she gets. She gets very upset when I leave, but I know any member of staff will take her off me to ease me leaving. I love the fact that there is so much going on, that she goes out regularly on the bus for trips. Very happy with her care.
Nice homely care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Residents have plenty of activities to take part in and also little trips too. Mum enjoys the garden and green house facilities. Thank you Westmead!
