View Full Details of Doddington LodgeMy mum, who has dementia, stayed at Doddington Lodge for a two-week respite break in February 2024. There is a really lovely homely feel to the Lodge, but I was really concerned that my Mum would not leave her room. I could not have been more wrong. She was encouraged to join in the many activities and did so happily. When I arrived at various times in the day and evening, (unannounced) she was always in the lounge either with other residents or staff. The activity mornings were great - such a lovely, almost jolly atmosphere. The Staff knew she liked to play Scrabble and facilitated games with another resident and played cards with her as well. She has resurrected a new hobby of knitting as a result of her short stay. The staff were without exception fantastic, (including domestic staff who were so wonderfully kind), and I would return my Mum for a future stay without hesitation.
Everyone in Doddington Lodge has always looked after me so well, the food is always good and I feel so well looked after here and comfortable. It will be a job to find anywhere so good.
Mum entered Doddington Lodge (age 99) at very short notice and has been treated with great care ever since. It is no exaggeration to say that it has become her home. As we live some three hours away it has been especially helpful and appreciated that we have been able to visit whenever with no restraint on time. This coupled with access to the dining room means that we can spend quality time with her and enjoy the excellent food that she herself enjoys. A place is only as good as its people and in this respect all the staff are exceptional and we have been shown the utmost kindness by everyone to date. In her time mum has been both a SRN and a carer and it is without doubt a wonderful thing that she is getting that same love and attention that she would wish to bestow on others.
My parents moved into Doddington Lodge in May last year. From day one they were made to feel like this was their home. Doddington is a special place and really is like a home, not a care home. The staff are all so friendly, loving and caring, whilst at the same time being totally professional. The activities are always interesting and varied and the staff go out of their way to keep all the residents happy and contented. My family and I are more than happy knowing that my parents are being well looked after, in every aspect. We are all of the same opinion, Doddington Lodge is a special place and we would recommend it to anyone.
Doddington Lodge provides a homely and safe environment for all its residents, being set in beautiful surroundings, the accommodation is furnished to a very good standard, meals are nutritious and well served. The staff are very caring, competent, and considerate to all residents whatever their classification. I have watched them attending to every need with gracious and unstinting compassion and patience. They are all first class from the manager to the last member of the establishment. I only hope that when the time comes that I need care, for whatever reason, that I may find a place within Doddington Lodge with its caring and loving staff. My sincere thanks to them all.
I can't praise the team at Dorrington Lodge highly enough. They are amazing with Mom, even when her dementia means she is particularly challenging. The support they give to the family is invaluable. They are there with support and information every step of the way which really is invaluable. Beautiful building staffed by beautiful people who really care.
This feels more like a hotel than a care home. The staff are very friendly and helpful, the building and interior are of an excellent quality. The staff really know their residents and their particular needs. The manager is very accessible and helpful.
The care and support that the team have shown toward our beloved friend and us has been brilliant. The home is a cross between feeling like a country hotel and a home from home. Everyone welcomes you like an old friend. Doddington has made an experience we were dreading (transitioning our friend who has dementia into a care home) as smooth, calm and happy as it could be. We all (family friends and neighbours) feel confident and reassured that now she can no longer be at home this is the best place to live. Life is certainly not over for the residents of Doddington Lodge there is plenty to engage in and enjoy there every day. We are so thankful.
Doddington Lodge is a fantastic care home. They absolutely go above and beyond for their residents and families. You can tell their staff are treated with so much respect and kindness as this shows when you visit the home. Such a bright and welcoming place, with beautiful surroundings and gardens. My grandad was treated with such a high standard of care, the girls looked after him like he was their own grandad. I could rest assured that my grandad was being cared for without feeling anxious for him. I highly recommend Doddington Lodge and all its wonderful staff, kitchen staff and amazing carers that show compassion and dignity every single day without fail. Staff deserve all the praise in the world!
My brother moved into Doddington in August 2020. The family are very pleased with how the staff have been and we know he gets the best care provided. He is settled in his surroundings and thinks of Doddington as his home. We would like to thank the management team, carers and all the staff that support him at Doddington. We can not recommend this home enough.
I cannot thank the amazing staff at Doddington Lodge enough. My mother is a recent resident and is settling in very well. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming and have made the transition of moving into a care home so much easier. The staff have a wonderful can-do attitude and nothing is too much trouble. The food is amazing and the activities they organise for the residents are brilliant. It really is home from home and a fantastic place to be.
Our father was fortunate to obtain a place at Doddington Lodge following a stroke and fall, it was close to where he had previously lived so it felt like he was "home", we had also heard some great reviews about the care and facilities. He has settled well and the care, surroundings and food are excellent, he is very happy and takes part in the numerous activities that are put on, the staff are so helpful. A big thank you to you all.
The manager and the whole team have been absolutely amazing with my mum. She suffered a brain injury after a horrendous accident and spent eight weeks in hospital. They have treated my mum with dignity and respect. I know they have had tough times with her and we are extremely grateful for the amazing care they have shown her. The whole team are wonderful and we are extremely grateful as a family. The home is beautiful, it's extremely clean and you are always greeted with a smile, no matter how much pressure they are under. My mum has come on leaps and bounds since she has been under the care of the manager and her amazing team of carers. I would recommend Doddington Lodge to anyone looking for a care home for a loved one, they go above and beyond and it really is an amazing place. The food is amazing as well. They always inform you of any issues or any concerns, which keeps your mind at peace when you are worried about a loved one. A special thank you goes to you all.
My dad spent from April through to October here. He was loved and cared for beyond our expectations. Even spoilt on his 80th birthday with a Guiness cake. Unfortunately, his health deteriorated and is no longer with us, but as a family have much appreciation to the whole team at Doddington Lodge.
I know Mum is well looked after by a very caring team at Doddington Lodge, in a beautiful and peaceful environment. A big 'thank you' to all those who pay attention to the details and go the extra mile to make the lives of all the residents that bit more comfortable and happy. It is such a comfort to know that there is help available for all the everyday things Mum can no longer do for herself, and many activities for her to join in whenever she wants to.
My mother is a resident at Doddington Lodge and I'm so pleased that she is living there. Like other residents she has dementia and the staff bring an air of calmness, patience and efficiency in their work with the residents. There are good relationships between the staff and me, they keep me informed of any problems (and successes!). I tried looking after my mother at her own home but the progressive deterioration of her condition was too great, I have no complaints only compliments for my mother to be at Doddington. It was the right decision, best for all involved.
Mum went into Doddington Lodge at the end of November 2021 and has settled in well. She likes all the staff and says they are looking after her well. They organised a 100-th birthday party in December which went really well, and the chef had made a beautiful cake for her. A good time was had by all! As mum is registered blind she is, unfortunately, unable to enjoy the wonderful view from her room and can't take part in all the activities that are available, but as she puts it, it's a good place to end up! I would thoroughly recommend them.
Mum was transferred to Doddington Lodge after a stay in the hospital, where she contracted Covid-19 and was put in isolation for ten days. Not good for a 94-year-old with dementia! She had deteriorated considerably both physically and mentally. Mum has now resided there for five weeks and the difference in her is quite remarkable. She is so well looked after that she has regained her appetite, put on weight and is generally very happy and settled. All the residents are treated with great love, patience and good humour, nothing is too much trouble for the staff. A variety of interesting daily activities is organised for the residents, ranging from baking, art and craft to making cocktails, mocktails and terrariums. Doddington Lodge is a small and personal care home. It is clean, bright and airy and the decor is modern and tasteful. The outside environment is equally well-kept and inviting, with a sensory garden and even a pond with ducklings. I would recommend them unreservedly.
Doddington Lodge has a warm homely feeling to it, the care Mum receives is first class and we couldn’t ask for more. The daily activities keep Mum busy ranging from cookery to gardening, painting to crafting and everything in between. Birthdays are celebrated with elaborate cakes and the residents are made to feel extra special on their day. The facilities are excellent, Mum has a light, airy and spotlessly clean bedroom with an en- suite shower room. I would recommend Doddington Lodge to anyone looking for home from home care.
So pleased to be able to get Mum into Doddington Lodge, every aspect has been very good so far, the whole team care so much for all, including us relatives. The manager and his colleagues are very attentive to our needs. The room and other facilities are excellent, I highly recommend them.
