View Full Details of Netherwood Residential Care HomeOur Mum moved here in November from another care home which we had many issues with. Oh, how I wish we had done it sooner! The level of care is exemplary and it's very obvious that the Manager is very proud of her team and that this is a happy place for both staff and residents alike. Really could not find a fault and highly recommend.
Netherwood is just incredible. We moved my Mum here after a horrific experience at a previous care home so we were understandably very worried. From our initial phone call we were listened to, reassured and the care for Mum was exceptional. Everyone knew Mum and took the time to chat to her and get to know her. She was always clean and extremely well cared for. They got my Mum laughing, smiling and walking again, which we didn't think we would ever see. Sadly we lost Mum recently but Netherwood were so kind and she was treated with dignity and respect. They also ensured we had everything we needed as well. I just wish we had moved Mum sooner. Thank you to everyone, you are all amazing and made Mums last few weeks so happy.
My husband who has mixed dementia has just been in Netherwood Care Home for a week's respite. I cannot speak highly enough of the staff who are all so caring and understanding it's not easy to leave your loved one in someone else's care, but I had no doubt about leaving my husband at Netherwood from the way I was greeted on arrival. I left feeling that my husband will be looked after. The whole team are amazing Thank you all so much for looking after him.
We have been overwhelmed by the care given to my Mum during the time she has been at Netherwood Residential Care Home. Recently she was very ill. The staff were fantastic with her and have nursed her back to health and encouraged her to walk again. Netherwood feels like a home from home. The staff work very hard to ensure a lovely atmosphere where visitors are made very welcome. I thought I would worry about Mum going into a home but the staff are so caring I have no concerns at all.
My mother-in-law was taken ill after contracting Pneumonia. The staff acted so quickly in getting the doctor to assess her and were insistent that she went to the hospital for intravenous antibiotics to help her overcome the pneumonia. After a few days in hospital she was brought back home to Netherwood and the staff were amazing, they assessed her upon arrival back at the nursing home and acted on all the things they thought she required to make her well. Nothing was too much trouble and all through this experience they were in constant touch with me. The staff are friendly, welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They care for the residents as if they were their own family and more importantly, treat them all with respect. Thank you Netherwood.
My Mother has been at Netherwood in all about three times, the last occasion being a permanent stay, the previous times over the last few years were for respite and convalescing after a short stay in hospital, from as far back as 2016. The home has provided all the care we could hope for, my mother has taken a while to settle but she now calls it home and is always ready to return. The accommodation is forever improving with the addition of a bar, a new hairdressing facility and a dedicated cinema. All the new rooms are now underfloor heated which is perfect for the elderly, I can talk I’m 72 myself!
My Mother has now been in Netherwood for 14 months and although her health has deteriorated considerably over the last couple of months she has benefited from superb care throughout. Management and carers are very attentive to her needs and I am contacted regularly as to any problems she has and actions taken. She is 101 years old and needs a lot of care which Netherwood supplies. Thank you
Lovely home that has had a lot of new build recently. The staff have not let this work disrupt the day to day running of the home or their care for the residents. The staff are quick to respond to medical issues and are a credit to the home. The home responded very well with the difficult times during covid restrictions.
My mother has been at Netherwood Residential Care Home now for nearly 5 years and is in need of constant care. I consider the level of care first class and following a significant refurbishment, the home is smart and welcoming and extremely comfortable for the residents. Communication is excellent with nothing too much trouble. Ultimately when choosing a place for your loved ones you want somewhere warm, clean, attentive and caring staff, variety of activities, good food, and well managed. Care homes are not cheap but Netherwood ticks all the boxes and is satisfactory value for money.
We can not hold the staff at Netherwood Residential Care Home in any higher regard than we do. Since my Mother was admitted into the home last October, her health and well being have improved fantastically. This is purely down to the management and staff at Netherwood and the time and fabulous care they give her. Mum is totally settled and loves her time and the people there. This is a testament to all involved and how good the service Netherwood provides is.
The care and attention my mum gets from the amazing hardworking, friendly and very caring staff is 10/10. They work so hard with all the residents. It feels like they are all at home and not in a care home. I would definitely say they a very loving, professional and hardworking team and when you chat to the other residents they seem very happy indeed, with the treatment and care they have. They take time to explain what is going on and listen to your concerns, as our mother is poorly at the moment. We couldn't wish for a more friendly and home for home environment for my mum. Thanks very much for all your hard work and making her feel comfortable and loved!
I would recommend Netherwood to anyone looking for a friendly, welcoming home. My mother was very well looked after during her stay at Netherwood. The food was great, and the staff kind, caring and friendly.
High quality of care at Netherwood, my mom was very happy there and expressed how kind and hard-working the staff were, I was always made welcome on my regular visits. Friendly care staff and good communication from senior staff and management.
We find the manager, the staff and home exceptionally good. It is reassuring to find the staff are very experienced, their attention to providing high standards of care in all areas of looking after the physical and well being of all the residents is exceptional. I find the home a breath of fresh air! My mother is being well cared for, the staff have encouraged and supported her, which reflects positively in her overall well-being. It is comforting and reassuring to see Mum happy and well cared for. I have every praise for all their good work.
The rooms at Netherwood are very nice and the communal facilities that have been expended and refurbished recently are excellent. I have always found the staff to be very helpful and I am confident that they look after my aunt with kindness and make every effort to give her as fulfilling a life as possible. She suffers from dementia but is settled and content.
My Mum has been a resident of Netherwood for 2 1/2 years now. It was initially a difficult decision to make but we as a family are confident it was the right decision. Mum has been treated with great care and compassion by all the staff. She is now unable to communicate but the staff talk to her and tell her what is happening in the same way they have always done, with kindness. We are able to visit her anytime, excepting meal times, and the staff are always keen to let us know how she has been doing. When there have been issues relating to her health they have always phoned me to let me know and we have discussed all elements of her care plan to ensure we are fully aware. I have nothing but praise, gratitude and thanks for all staff from the cleaners, cooks, care staff and management.
I struggled with the decision to place my wife in care. I visited several homes and Netherwood was recommended to me by a friend. I visited the home several times and found it to be the best I had seen. I wanted somewhere where I felt my wife would be looked after well. I made the correct decision, I have not regretted it for one moment. The staff are wonderful, they look after their residents as if they were their own relatives. In addition, they have always made me very welcome and have gone out of their way to make me feel confident that all is well with my wife's care. I cannot speak too highly of Netherwood Care Home, I would always recommend it. Also, friends of my wife who have visited her, have commented on how good the home is and how wonderful the staff are. If a better care home can be found, I would like to see it.
This is a good care home with lovely staff. However, the night staff let the home down. Cleaning not done at night and my mum's clothes are constantly misplaced at night even though I do all my laundry myself. Cleanliness is not what it used to be, the carpets are not cleaned as they used to be with incontinent residents! The day staff are kind and treat residents as individuals! The manager and deputy manager are first class but it's a shame that their hands are tied by the owner and they are only allowed to have new furniture in half of the home when it badly needs replacing. The food is all home cooked and is fabulous - good quality and varied menu. Homely feel and nice gardens.
My Nan recently stayed at Netherwood for respite. The home was clean, safe and overall at a high standard. She was welcomed by the staff and treated with dignity and respect, all the staff had a kind nature and was caring to both my Nan and family members. The food that was presented was 5 star and the activities on offer were fantastic giving her the choice to stay in or go for a coffee at the local cafe. Afternoon entertainment came to do music or exercises with the residents to ensure that they stayed mobile as well as the daily activities. The management team were also kind and supportive and the director was always on hand if needed, he appears to be currently making changes to the building and the interior which is progressing quickly. She can't wait for her next stay. Thank you all, I would definitely recommend this home.
The care home always looks and smells clean and tidy, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The reception area has photographs of the residents and they are all smiling. The outdoor area is ideal for the residents with seating areas and patios.
