View Full Details of Bennett HouseMy wife was resident for 4 weeks for rehabilitation after hip fracture. My wife has mixed dementia. She was met by friendly staff and settled in. The staff were excellent everyone of them was patient, polite and caring through out her stay. She was fed properly and the food was very good, she put on weight during her stay. The home is single storey, quite old but very clean and tidy. No glitz or glamour but the staff care for the residents.
My auntie was well cared for here, staff were always kind and caring and in my opinion, went beyond expectations, even painting my aunt's nails which she absolutely loved. She also loved her meals. There always seem to be plenty of hot drinks available. There was even a member of staff engaging residents in activities. I was kept well informed of my aunt's care and the staff were also considerate to myself at a hard time. I've never written a review before so you can tell I am pleased with the care that my aunt got.
The care here is exceptional. Mum loves living there and feels safe there. The carers go above and beyond looking after Mum. The meals are excellent and Mum is encouraged to eat well. When visits were allowed, they were well planned.
I would like to compliment all the staff at Bennett House for how they have handled the recent Coronavirus situation. During this stressful time I am grateful that the home locked down early and then communicated promptly with me due to testing and visiting. When my father was tested staff handled the situation sensitively and fortunately tests came back negative. My father has dementia so it was important to keep in touch and this was done over the phone, although he was encouraged, and helped, to write me a letter and naturally I sent letters, photos and family news. The home is caring, clean and communicates well with me. My father has been in the home over 18 months now and I am reassured that he safe, secure and well looked after. This gives me peace of mind. Well done to everyone in coping so well in difficult times and when there have been so many additional challenges for care homes as outlined on the news.
