View Full Details of High Lodge Care HomeMy gran moved in to high lodge care home in August 2024 she is very well looked and staff are attentive to all her needs I couldn't of asked for a better home she enjoys all the activities that take place. Staff make me feel very welcome at every visit always greetings me with a tea or coffee so I can enjoy my visit with gran. Thanks to the team for everything you do.
My Grandma has been a resident at High Lodge since July 2024. Prior to that she was being cared for by my mom and that was becoming increasingly difficult. With her Alzheimers progressing she needed a safe environment where her needs would be met. The care she receives is exceptional and she is settled and happy. The staff are fantastic with her and welcoming to family members. She enjoys the food, activities and has a lovely room. It is reassuring for us all knowing that she is in safe hands.
I would like to say how pleased I am with the care my mother with Alzheimer's is receiving. Over the last 2 years she has had several respite stays in various care homes and High Lodge has been by far the best for her. She went into their full time care in July this year after 2.5 years of living with my family. I will be totally honest in that it wasn't my first choice however on reflection it is the first choice for her and her needs. The staff are wonderful creating a caring family environment and nothing is too much trouble for them in ensuring she is happy. The food is lovely and my mother really enjoys it. The activities they organise are enjoyed by all and stimulate the residents without being patronising. Overall I have to give them 5 stars in all departments. She could not be in safer hands.
My mom became a resident at High Lodge early this summer and as a family, we have been really pleased with the care she has received. The staff are friendly and approachable and caring, with many having been there for some years! They are always open and ready to share with us as a family how Mom has been. They have been very responsive, and liaise well with healthcare providers when there are health issues. Mom has settled well and enjoys that this is a smaller home environment, so often quieter. All the residents seem happy and content here, which is lovely to see. Thank you!
Friendly care home. The staff genuinely care about the residents. My mom's room is lovely and she has fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Mom has thrived there and is now very mobile and happy. Mom enjoys the activities and has made many friends.
My mother took on residence at High Lodge in February 2024 after a fall at home and spells in hospital and another care residence. Her health and mobility have improved enormously at High Lodge, as has her mental health. This has been due to the care and support she has received which has been excellent. She is well looked after and treated with care, respect and dignity.
The staff are all very friendly and approachable. Constantly monitoring and interacting with residents, who they know by name. They treat all residents as individuals and are aware of their likes, dislikes and something of their history. Happy with Mom's care but if there was an issue I would not hesitate to raise it with the staff or management.
Moved Mom to High Lodge in early 2024. Mom is 86 and was fit and healthy until 2023. She spent a short time in another care home but had difficulty mixing and re-adjusting. The care received in High Lodge is very good. Health issues that arose due to her medical condition have all been dealt with very efficiently. My mom has settled in and enjoys the rural location with county views from her room. There is also a quiet lounge. Love the attention to detail in decoration of rooms. Have no regrets moving Mom and am very happy with the care provided.
High Lodge is currently looking after my husband. I have nothing but praise for the care he's given. The staff/carers are wonderful, friendly, easy to approach and to talk to, they're happy to accommodate and help. I feel at ease knowing that he's being looked after. The setting is lovely, looking out onto fields, which makes it calming.
My father-in-law, who has dementia, has been at the home for over a year now. Without exception, all staff, carers, cooks and cleaners are really lovely, friendly and caring and go out of their way to make residents as comfortable as possible and are also very supportive and understanding to our family. It really feels like a ‘home’, helped by the fact that it has a lot of longstanding staff who really get to know the residents and their individual needs and personalities. The home is cosy, food is very good, there are daily activities if people want to join in, and an outdoor space where residents and family can sit in the warmer weather. The home also has occasional family meetings which is really lovely as we get to meet other families in the same situation as us. After visiting we feel we can walk away feeling totally reassured that my father-in-law is receiving the best care possible and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend High Lodge.
I would thoroughly recommend this care home to anyone looking to find a safe, caring 'home from home' for their loved one. We were recommended High Lodge Care Home by the GP and had to make a decision quickly. Mom had experience of other care homes in the area, which were not so good, so we were apprehensive. However, from the time we visited to when Mom, unfortunately, died some 2 months later, she was treated like one of their own. The staff were always friendly, attentive and the personal, passionate care they demonstrated in her final few weeks was second to none. Mom was a typical 93 year old, stubborn, set in her ways and sometimes quite grumpy, but we visited every day and she always told us the food was nice, her room was always spotlessly clean and the staff were all friendly. Unlike other care homes, the staff always made an effort to get residents out of bed and interacting with one another and there is a 'quiet room' for those wanting peace or for visitors to use. Thank you High Lodge.
Dad has been in High Lodge Care Home for two years this weekend, and while vascular dementia continues to erode his memory and functions, we know he continues to receive the very best of care by the team at High Lodge. This was reinforced to us last month when he tested positive for covid that necessitated a stay in hospital. On admittance he had a skin test to check for any sores, bruises etc. The nursing staff commented on how well looked after he was as there were no marks to concern them. They also told us how unusual this was for residents in care. We already knew how much affection and respect the care staff show to Dad but this was music to our ears. And when he was discharged from the hospital, the icing on the cake was him declaring it's good to be home with my own bed. He's obviously happy in his environment. Massive thanks to the manager and all of our extended family at High Lodge.
Mum was relocated from her home town to be near us. We did a lot of research on various homes. We were so thrilled when we found this gem and relocated her here. She has now had very happy years here. She is enriched by the music and crafts and the communion services that have happened. Regular festivals/celebrations are noted and talked about; even if she does not recall or understand, you can see that both her physical and mental welfare are being catered for. She is always happy and the telling point is that we have turned up at various hours on various days. We are always welcomed after clearing the secure entrance system to safeguard the residents. The kitchen staff provide excellent meals which we have also seen frequently. Thank you to all the caring staff who really do work as a team led by excellent managers. We are very grateful indeed.
My mum has been in High Lodge a number of times for respite over the years and is now in full time. She is so overwhelmed by the care and compassion from all the staff. A real home from home even with its own hairdressers. Everyone is kind and all the residents are looked after wonderfully - I cannot recommend High Lodge highly enough. It is second to none and a safe place to be. All the residents are loved by such a hardworking team of ladies like they are related, it's wonderful to see. It is also set in a beautiful location. Dad and I have peace of mind knowing Mum is in a warm, caring, loving home.
Until she passed away, my mother was given the best care possible. She was taken there after the poor care she was given at another care home. To say that two places could be so different is difficult, but please believe me when I say chalk and cheese is no comparison. The staff CARE, all the while my mother was there nothing was too much trouble, for my mother or the other residents I noticed when visiting. With all the family, we visited almost every day and not one of the family has said a bad word against the place. I would recommend this home to anyone in an instant.
I put my mum in this care home because of her dementia best thing I did, she is looked after lovely. I can relax knowing she's being cared for she settled in straight away. All the people are very nice and friendly.
It is only due to the care and attention the staff have given to my mum, that she is still with us. On mum's return from hospital it was a pleasure to see her face when she saw the staff who she knows that care for her. The staff do a very good job but also go the extra mile above their job. The staff take in treats for everyone. Most recently the staff have reacted to a resident saying they liked fish and chips from the chip shop. On hearing this, the staff have bought the residents a ‘chippy’ tea for a treat! There have been many occasions that I have heard that someone wanted something and the staff have bought it. High Lodge very quickly becomes ‘home’ and the residents and their families become a part of the High Lodge family. Although I would like to be with Mum when her time comes to depart this world, should I not be able to, I am happy in the knowledge that she will be with people who care for her and whom she loves. Thank you to ALL the staff.
