View Full Details of Bearwood HouseMy mum just had respite here. Mum said she had a lovely room, good home-cooked meals, cakes. Management and staff were very caring, polite and friendly. My mum said she would not hesitate in stopping again as she was happy there.
Relative was admitted for emergency respite due to anxiety issues and poor mobility. The team were so patient with him, even when things became difficult. His stay was only short but the help and support we both received from the manager and care staff was excellent and so understanding.
My total respect and admiration goes to the manager of this home. Recently a resident was tested as soon as she came out of hospital and she was found to have COVID. This resident was kept safely in her room, so very well cared for and no one in the home contacted COVID. That is amazing. If this isn't good recommendation to let your loved one live safely and happily in this home then what is. Well done to the manager and her staff.
Very homely atmosphere. Lovely food, all prepared on-site. Caring staff.
My mother-in-law's residence at Bearwood House has been and continues to be problem-free with any issues dealt with efficiently by the staff. Overall, she is content with her life at Bearwood House and her family have no concerns for her welfare.
Great.
I love being at Bearwood House. I have been here for over one year now and this is such a homely home and it does not feel like a care home. I love the food and I am allowed to spend time alone or with others as I wish.
Every time I visit the staff are very welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. They give very clear information on anything that has happened and how active my mother-in-law has been. There are always different activities for the residents which my mother-in-law enjoys. The staff are very attentive and have a good rapport with my mother-in-law. I feel confident she is safe and well looked after.
Mum has now been at Bearwood House for just over 12 months. Since she has been a resident, I have seen her thrive. Mum is very well cared for and all staff and management make her smile on a daily basis which is amazing. I have no doubt that Mum is happy and settled which gives me peace of mind. All her needs are met and she is always treated with respect and dignity. We feel so lucky we found this home. Feel staff are now an extension of my family.
Lovely care home with amazing staff. Have treated my grandmother with the utmost respect and changed her life in the space of a couple of months. Very nice to see how my grandmother has improved since coming to this home. The staff are very friendly to me and my family when we visit. No complaints at all.
When I visited the care home, I always found the staff to be very helpful and friendly. My mother-in-law seemed happy in the home and was treated with respect. Her room was very nice and equipped with everything she needed to help her in her daily living. I appreciate what the staff did to care for my mother-in-law and would like to thank them all for their hard work.
My mother was a resident at Bear House Care Home for nearly a year. From start to finish, the staff were excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and my mother felt at home. The home was a nice size and the staff never seemed stretched they were very professional, but connected. I would thoroughly recommend the home to one and all.
My dad has been in Bearwood House since January 2022, following a traumatic 12 months since the loss of mum and falling breaking his hip and being unable to walk again. However, since day one in the care home all the staff and management have been excellent, with no exceptions. The love and care he receives is brilliant and the staff are very friendly. They have excellent banter and communication with my dad, which has given him a new lease of life to continue on his journey. They are always very accommodating to his needs and the food they provide is excellent. I know he has a good appetite, but trust me he won't starve. The home is very clean and tidy and the room he has is very spacious and suits his needs. It's not a very big home, which I think works in their favour and they are like one big family and a small community within a community. Overall very happy with the staff and the home. Keep up the good work.
Bearwood House is a care home in the time sense of the word. The team at Bearwood consistently go the extra mile to make sure Mum receives the personalised care and attention that allows her needs to be met and her interests encouraged within a warm, safe and friendly environment.
Bearwood House provides qualified care, which adapts to ensure their resident's needs are met. The affection my granny has received during her time at Bearwood has allowed her to find a new lease of life.
Mum was there for two weeks. The management and staff I couldn't fault. The only thing for mum is that she wanted to walk around and there was nowhere for her to go. Also, she wanted to watch telly sometime and they never got her TV in bedroom connected. The staff always made us so welcome. Would recommend this home for anyone.
My mother-in-law was only with Bearwood for around 6 months. The care she received was absolutely brilliant. The love and care she received from all the staff was wonderful. We think her last few months were enriched by the lovely kind people who were taking care of her. We cannot thank them enough. The staff in Bearwood are exceptional. Thank you.
This is a home I would go in if/when I am ready to do so. The staff make you feel at home and help you through your bad days. They can tell if you would like to be quieter or want to mix. In all, they are a friendly team, keeping everything running smoothly.
When my husband and I visited Bearwood House with a view to respite care for him, I was immediately impressed by the caring, capable, happy, and loving atmosphere generated by the staff and surroundings. The home makes the most of its fairly limited space and feels safe. There was a large variety of activities offered by the member of staff appointed to coordinate them, the dining room was welcoming and the menus wholesome and varied, and there were two lounges for residents, one being described as the quiet lounge, which was also the venue for film shows. We had no difficulty in deciding this was the place for my husband’s respite care. When I took him to Bearwood House the transfer into their care was smooth and efficient, and I have since received regular updates about my husband from the Manager.
My mother has been a resident at Bearwood House for almost four years. Her care has always been good, this was very reassuring during lockdown as I was not anxious about her needs not being met. The new manager has worked so hard to make lots of beneficial changes, the activities are excellent and inclusive of individual need. Before being allowed to visit again we were able to have video calls and use the visiting pod. More recently Mum has been quite poorly, staff have responded immediately to ensure she received medical attention, kept me informed and looked after her so well, adapting her care needs each time. When visiting I see how respectful, kind and caring each staff member is towards her. I would certainly recommend Bearwood House to anyone who is considering that their loved one may need additional care.
