View Full Details of Eversley Rest HomeI called my Uncle on his birthday. The first time I called him I was told he was asleep, the second time he was awake and the home quickly passed me on to him. Even though he's a bit muddled, he was in good spirits and I feel very confident that he's being well looked after. He tends to 'wear his heart on his sleeve' so I know - or have a very good idea - if he's not happy. But he was in great spirits and having visited him in the home several times I know he is being very well looked after.
We are very happy with the care that our mother receives at Eversley. She has been a resident for over 2 years now. She has a very nice room with access to the garden. It is always very clean and well-maintained. She has excellent care from all the staff and they are always very caring and kind to her. She enjoys the food and they sometimes make extra treats for her.
On visiting all staff are welcoming. I can ask for information regarding the care. The food is good and well-presented. Room very clean and clothing also fresh. Having had a recent meeting with the manager I found her very easy to talk to and very informative about my mother.
Mum was admitted to Eversley in April 2022. Prior to Mum going to Eversley she was in a temporary bed in another home while being assessed and we watched her turning old and extremely frail before our eyes. In the first week at Eversley, Mum showed huge improvement and started gaining a little weight as she was happy and content at last! During the last 18 months at Eversley Mum has never asked to leave, she loves the staff and her room. Mum's dementia has worsened but the staff know how to assist and keep her happy as much as possible. I cannot praise the staff and management enough, they answer all our queries and do their utmost to keep Mum comfortable.
Caring. Of late, very good at keeping you up to date with the health and well being of patients. Keeping up to date on Covid rules.
Care for Mum went well initially. However, as her dementia advanced, I was misled about aspects of her care. Mum wandered at night. I was told not to worry as she had an alarm mat on her bed so they would know when this occurred. However when Mum fell badly several times and went to the hospital a nurse told me that no they did not have a mat on her bed but it was on order along with a door alarm and these should be fitted in a few days. After 10 days of telling me otherwise, the Manager advised by telephone they could no longer care for Mum. I arranged to collect her belongings and this was when I really had problems that the Manager has never resolved. Eversley had ‘lost’ brand new clothes Mum had received from family for Christmas. They destroyed a calendar that Dad had purchased for her from a cat shelter she supports in Cyprus. I have chased the Manager at least 3 times by email and never received a reply. The Manager promised to replace the calendar but this has not materialised. Poor! Disappointed!
The home has worked extremely hard to be covid safe (no infections). I am very happy with the care my mother, who has Alzheimer's, receives. The home really works hard to celebrate every possible festival day.
My mum went into Eversley Care home in August, I was very apprehensive about her going into a Care home but she has now settled into the home and I have peace of mind that she is now safe and well cared for. Mum had a few falls at home and I feel this was now the right decision. Mum has a lovely room that looks out onto the garden and she spends time in her room and she also takes part in some of the activities in the lounge area. The activities are excellent and they have a wide variety of choices and the posts on social media are brilliant showing them having very happy times. The staff are kind and friendly towards my mum and she seems at ease with them. The food is very good and is all home-cooked with a wide choice. The communication from the Deputy Manager is very good and I get an email on a regular basis which is appreciated during the restrictions on visiting at present. On the whole, it’s a very good home. When I can visit mum my review would probably be marked higher.
My 90-year-old mother initially went to Eversley Rest Home for respite care and rehabilitation following a serious fall in August 2020. The staff did everything possible to help her settle and successfully regain her mobility. In late October she decided to stay on a permanent basis, citing the "wonderful staff and the lovely food" as two good reasons for her decision. The staff are kind and caring, with nothing being too much trouble. They are highly respectful of her wishes and have taken great care to understand her as an individual, not just as she is now, but also her history and life experiences that have shaped her as a person. Recognising Mum's need to be as independent as possible, they have supported her in this goal, but are always there to help where needed. Liaison with external health services such as the GP have been excellent. Communication with myself and my brother has been timely and supportive. I would thoroughly recommend Eversley Rest Home
Mum was admitted during the covid lockdown which was stressful but appears very happy and she loves the staff. She says they are always kind to her. The deputy manager keeps us up to date with any problems by phone and email. Any problems we have are sorted quickly. They have a Facebook page to keep up to date with activities they do with the residents. The pod they have for visiting is lovely.
Eversley Rest Home was the first choice of myself and my family, having looked at several others. My mother has been there since 2017 and is very well looked after. The staff are great and very caring and she gets plenty of one to one attention. There are also plenty of activities for the residents who are able to take part so no one gets bored. The food is also very good and very wholesome and cooked to a high standard. Although I haven’t been able to see my mum much over the last year because of the pandemic, I never have to worry about the way she is looked after and know she is in good hands. I get regular updates on her health etc, for which I am very grateful, and I would have no hesitation in recommending Eversley Rest Home to anyone looking for a home from home for their loved ones.
The staff are amazing, they take great care with the residents. I live in the states and one of the staff will FaceTime so I can see and talk to Mum. Our family are extremely happy with the care. Thank you so much.
The staff at Eversley are always pleasant, friendly and polite. The care that they have for my mum is very good, nothing is too much trouble and I am kept well informed of mums care. They always have numerous activities throughout the year, that cover special occasions, for example, Mothers Day, Easter, Burns Night, Chinese new year - to name but a few. The food always smells wonderful. The home is a clean and tidy home from home environment for the residents. You are always welcome to call at any time.
My late mother rated Eversley highly. Staff have an excellent attitude, really care about residents, and take a personal interest. They have a good rapport with family members, who are welcome at any time as well as visits from residents’ friends. The owners are responsive and open to suggestions. Efforts are made to provide a range of activities including opportunities involving families. There is good access to GPs and other healthcare. Good home-cooked lunches but evening teas could be nutritionally better balanced. Many of the facilities are good or excellent but more lavatories are needed in the main hub of the building. Residents with mobility difficulties are well supported although the upper floor (in the old part of the building) is not suitable for them. Additional staff are needed for those residents with higher levels of need. Overall my mother was very well cared for here during the last two and a half years of her life and we were confident that she was well looked after.
Excellent staff are attentive, caring, nothing is too much trouble. Caring and respect, dignity. Very comfortable.
My sister and I had visited many care homes looking for somewhere for our 97-year-old mother. The moment we walked into Eversley Care Home we knew we had found the right place for her. The standard of the rooms is excellent. She has a walk-in wet room, all finished to a high standard. They have three lounge areas, one of which is used as a designated area for residents and visiting relatives, overlooking the garden with outside seating area. Our mother became a resident on 21 June '19. With the help of the events co-ordinator she now knits, bakes, flower arranges, etc, her quality of life has improved beyond our expected dreams. In addition, the staff are delightful and always available to help in any way.
