View Full Details of Watford House Residential Home LtdLovely visit with my brother. He's very happy at Watford House. Bedroom clean with family pictures around and smells lovely (important to a visiting family member). He looks smart and very content. Makes me happy he's been very well cared for
My mom was a resident at Watford House for almost 3 years, it is a very home-from-home residential house, the management and staff are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble and they always have the best interests for my mom. She could be a challenge at times but they were always very good with her and put her at ease. They were very approachable and as Mom's Alzheimer's progressed over the time they were happy to keep Mom in the environment she was so used to and I was very grateful for this. Mom remained at the home until she passed away peacefully in December.
My mother was a resident at Watford House Care Home for 3 years and 9 months. She was so well looked after and the hygiene and cleanliness standards were excellent. The staff were extremely caring and friendly and nothing was too much trouble in making her stay a happy and relaxed one. Care was exemplary right up until the day that she passed away! We can only thank the manager and her staff for all that they did for Mom.
Our mum has now been at Watford House for a number of years and the care she has been provided has been fantastic. We got calls on her health all through the pandemic and they are always helpful and friendly when we have called about anything. Even though Mum's health has deteriorated, this was expected due to her condition. The manager and the team are remarkable, always going above and beyond and informing us of anything we need to know. Very professional and very caring.
We have experienced a terrible time with Watford House and their lack of care for our father. Their ability to work with our family was appalling. They appeared uncaring about our needs to see and know how our father was for the three months he was in this home. I believe he was over medicated to ensure his compliance. Since going to the hospital, due to the home's poor care and going into an excellent care home, my dad is back to himself. He can now talk again; a skill he lost during the three months in Watford House. He is unlikely to ever walk again; again he could walk before admittance into Watford House. I would not recommend this care home for anyone.
I am very impressed with the service provided for my Mother from her first day 01/02/2017 until her recent passing away. The care throughout her residency has been exemplary, the staff considerate and caring. I was always made welcome when I visited and was always kept informed as to Mom's well being and care levels. I cannot thank all the staff for looking after Mom throughout her stay especially in the last few days of her life. It gives me great comfort to know that she received the very best of care. Many thanks and great respect to all of the staff at Watford House.
My dad has been living here for a short time (approx 4 weeks). He seems to have settled well. The manager and all of the carers have been very nice both to my dad and all of our family. Everything that this home said it would do has been done. We are very pleased as there have been no empty promises.
The care that is given by all of the staff at Watford House gives you the satisfaction that your relative is in good hands while they are in their care.
The home has been very caring towards my Mom even when her dementia has been at its worst and she has been very difficult. I visit Mom nearly every day and I am made very welcome and get regular updates on how Mom is. I am impressed by the staff and management who conduct themselves, even under difficult occasions with professionalism, care and dignity. Well done.
My father was at Watford House for 18 months. His care was good but staff could have been more communicative with him. He enjoyed the food and liked his room. Relatives were not always kept informed of his progress and appointments but staff were always helpful when approached.
Watford House is a pleasant home. The staff are kind and helpful, always willing to help you. They treat my mom well and she is happy in her surroundings. When she was ill at Christmas they adapted her room so that if she got out of bed the mat alarm went off. They are aware of her likes and dislikes. I am able to ask questions and discuss my mum's care.
Mother has only been at Watford House for a few months but we are very happy with everything provided in a very nice home and location. We are happy mother is being very well looked after which has lifted a lot of stress and strain from the family.
I am very pleased with the care my husband is receiving. I know he is safe and there is always a member of staff available.
The environment is pleasant and light. Some staff are kind and attentive. However, some would benefit from dementia training. The variety of entertainment is good, something for everyone. Residents spend too much time indoors. The gardens aren't used. Outings, day activities outside the home no longer happen.
My Mother has been a resident at Watford House since October 2017 as she suffers with vascular dementia. Since she moved there she has become virtually stress-free and has started to relax and enjoy herself again. She has nothing but praise for the staff, the facilities and the way she is treated.
My mother in law has been a resident of Watford House since mid-January. She has been encouraged to take part in all the activities provided by the care home. Staff are friendly and attentive towards all residents and care is taken to provide all necessary care with regard to residents dignity.
My mother is 97 years of age with dementia. She can be quite aggressive, but the staff take it all in their stride. I feel they have taken all the worry from our shoulders and cannot praise them enough.
My mother was very happy at Watford House and we could always relax in the knowledge that she was safe, fed and well looked after. There was a friendly atmosphere in the home and activities and trips were organised for the ones who wanted to take part. The staff were always caring, kind and patient even with difficult residents and we were always welcomed on our regular visits.
