My mother is currently a resident at Ladydale and she loves it there. The care is second to none. The carers actually care for their residents and go out of their way to ensure the residents are receiving plenty of fluids and have lots of mental stimulation and activities. The food is excellent and locally sourced. There is a cat lives at the home too and he has the most wonderful life too! I have no hesitation in recommending Ladydale to anyone looking at care homes in the area.
Excellent care, all the staff are wonderful and there is so much activity for the residents to anticipate in if they want to, it’s very clean and the food is wonderful, you couldn’t wish for a better place for the residents and their family when they visit, what more can you wish for.
My mother was in Ladydale with Dementia from 2020 till October 22. Mum took a while to settle in as she came from Cornwall during covid and away from her family, the staff were very friendly and patient with her even though at times she was very trying. After mum had her stroke and needed palliative care Ladydale agreed to take her back until she died. The care they gave my mum until the very end was second to none and treated her with the utmost dignity, and we as a family can not thank them enough.
Mum was not at all sure about having to move to a care home but resigned to the fact that she was struggling at home. We looked at a number of care homes locally and were most impressed by our initial visit to Ladydale. The rooms were larger than some we had looked at, and the day rooms for the residents were light warm and airy with the choice of a large quiet room for residents wishing for a bit of peace. All the staff we have dealt with have been professional, caring and of good humour. Mum has settled in well and partakes in a number of the many activities that are on offer and has plenty of folk to have a natter with. It's been a huge relief that we've been able to get mum into a warm safe and happy environment where she's been well-fed and is having her needs tended to. Thank you.
I moved my brother to Ladydale in April as he was very unhappy with the care home he was in. I have never seen him so happy in years. He loves the staff and the meals. He has made friends and each week there are different activities for them to do. They celebrated Halloween, and fireworks night and are having a lovely Christmas. They have entertainment and visits with different pets which my brother loves. I highly recommend this home to anyone who needs to find a lovely place for a loved one.
My dad has been a resident for three years now and he absolutely loves it at Ladydale. He is happy and contented. The range of activities he chooses to undertake are safe and fun. The home is clean and tidy. He is far from easy to care for but the staff are always kind and caring towards him. Communication with ourselves as a family and considering we have POA could be better.
The staff at Ladydale are friendly and helpful. My mum settled in quickly. It is reassuring to know she is in a safe and caring environment. They are always happy to discuss her care needs with me. There are lots of activities for them to take part in and it is great when they have special visits from groups that bring animals in for them to see.
The quality of care at Ladydale is exceptional. They have a very long-standing, committed staff team which is clear evidence of a well-managed home. My father has been a resident for nearly four years and throughout the Covid period during which time they have responded appropriately and clearly communicated all the various changes for both residents and visitors. The level of care given is highly personalised/individualised and staff go above and beyond to ensure that needs are met. They really understand the personality my father has and are always laughing and joking with him, keeping him engaged and entertained through their various activities. Visitors are made extremely welcome and they have been incredibly supportive when we have needed assistance with hospital visits and treatment. I would not hesitate to recommend this home and offer my grateful thanks for all they do for my father.
Mum became a resident in September 2020, during the pandemic, the staff were welcoming and supportive to the whole family during this difficult time. Mum enjoyed the different daily activities, and the company of residents and staff and enjoyed daily visits, and outings with staff or family, once restrictions were lifted! On 22 July 2022 mum had a massive bleed on the brain, staff at Ladydale acted swiftly to get her the medical care she needed and continued to care for her palliatively following her return from the hospital on 22/8/22. During this time the staff became part of our extended family, always helpful, supportive and extremely caring towards mum and the individual family members sometimes in emotive situations. We were welcome to visit mum anytime even in the early hours or to stay overnight. Sadly, mum passed away on the 10/10/22 - the staff treated her passing with respect and dignity. Staff at Ladydale are second to none in care and support for residents. I cannot recommend them highly enough!
We are very happy with my mum's care at Ladydale. All the staff are lovely and friendly and my mum is always happy. The staff do lots of nice activities with the residents and the residents all seem happy and well cared for.
My Mum decided that the time was right to move into a care home just a couple of weeks before the first covid lockdown. We were very concerned about how she would settle, expecting her to sit alone in her room most of the time being very much an introvert. We need not have worried! The staff have made her very welcome, encouraging her to spend her time in the lounge with other residents and get involved in activities run by their in-house activities coordinator. I have to say that mum is very happy at Ladydale, always telling me how well looked after she is and how lucky she is to have somewhere so nice to live. She enjoys a great relationship with the staff who all seem to love her to bits! When I visit I am always welcomed with a smile and often a coffee. I have used mum's experience to reassure friends whose relatives are concerned about moving into care. Knowing that mum is so happy and is cared for so well is a great relief for me. I would recommend Ladydale to anyone.
My mum is a resident at Ladydale and has made it her home. The staff are wonderful and care for her with love and respect they are like hers and our extended family. I feel I have to place a review on the site this month as it has been two years since she moved there after having a nasty fall at home. Within the two years of the care that the staff have given to my mum I can honestly say she looks younger than she did when she moved there and with their continued care I am sure she will reach 100 years old. She has lovely home-cooked meals and homemade cake which she loves, she has a lovely room with her own toilet, her medication is taken care of and she has regular checks, there is an optician if she needs one, a hairdresser that visits if needed and a chiropodist. She has someone pop in and have a conversation and a laugh with her numerous times a day so she is never lonely. I cannot say a big enough thank you to everyone at Ladydale for being the wonderful people they are.
My mum was a resident at Ladydale for just over 2 years. When she became ill the home cared, and communication was excellent. She died with love around her and dignity and my wishes were respected. It was the hardest time. The staff were thoughtful, caring, and very hard working. Over the years, the home gave my mum a new lease of life, provided a warm and safe, social life. I would not have wanted a better home. Thank you.
I find all the staff at Ladydale to be very friendly and helpful. Nothing is too much trouble for them, even though they are under incredible pressures with Covid. With regards to my aunt, they have given her a new lease of life, including her in activities they think she will enjoy. I cannot believe the difference in her every time I visit. It gives me such relief to know she is being looked after so well, has company, is safe and nothing to worry about. Thank you everyone from the bottom of my heart.
My aunty will be 100 this year, she went into Ladydale 4 years ago unable to care for herself properly and safely. I am convinced that without the good care she has received we would not still have her.
My mother has been a resident at Ladydale for five months, during a very challenging Covid period. Ladydale came well recommended to us by the families of other residents. From my very first contact with staff, right through to the present date, I have found every single member helpful and willing to answer questions in a down-to-earth, most friendly, and professional manner. There has never been a single instance of doubt in my mind about the level of supervision and staff commitment to the high standards of care and attention that family members have a right to expect. I have visited people in other care homes where sadly, the standard falls short of the happy and supportive atmosphere enjoyed by residents at Ladydale. Of particular note is the considerable effort made by staff to organise activity events that engage and stimulate residents both mentally and physically. I have no hesitation in recommending Ladydale to anyone seeking a well-run care home for their relative.
My mother was in Ladydale care home as a resident for 18 months until her death in June 2019. From the start, she was warmly welcomed, with flowers in her room, and two senior members of staff actually stayed a couple of hours after the end of their shift to welcome her. It seemed that every comfort had been provided, and every effort to make the home seem like a 'real home' both for residents and visitors, we could always share a snack and cuppa or even meals. The staff without exception were warm and caring and would joke or gently tease her to make her smile. Smiles and laughter are so valuable to dementia sufferers. The quality of activities provided was especially outstanding, with different games, outings, animals coming to visit, or musicians, as well as 'special days' for residents in turn when they could choose an activity. My mother died at the home, spending the last couple of weeks in her bed - she was surrounded by family; and the loving consideration of carers that she knew.
The staff are very friendly and very caring. The new manager is like a breath of fresh air after previous management have been lacking in appropriate attitudes. The senior care staff are more than approachable, medical expertise is first rate, clean and friendly home with exceptional food, I have peace of mind which is priceless. I know my mother is in more than capable hands.
The staff and facilities were first class.
We moved my mother into Ladydale when she became unwell in November 2017 at short notice. The staff were most helpful and couldn't do enough to get her settled. She is very happy now and has more freedom and chance to move about and meet people than she did at home. Most of the home is old but well appointed and in a very quiet street in Leek. Whilst not looking brand new, it serves its purpose very well and the staff work extremely hard to keep all residents comfortable and safe, and do so with a smile and a laugh. We sleep much easier now knowing mum is safe, warm, well fed and has company whenever she wants it. Much emphasis is placed on tailoring care to each individual, and this has helped Mum settle in well and she now has many new friends. On visiting we normally find her among several other residents in one of the lounges. Visitors are warmly welcomed and included in whatever is going on, if they want to be. We are not expecting to move Mum out at any point.
