View Full Details of Rocklee Residential Care Home t/a Rocklee LtdRocklee is a brilliant care home. I need to be here to help me maintain my mental and physical wellbeing. Before I came here, I was living in a black hole, I would not go out to mix with anyone in the community. Now I was wash myself every day. Now I am working in a Church cafe voluntary job. I am learning to cook, clean, shop, pay bills, they take me on holiday vacations, and I am a new person. Without this help, I would not manage.
I am training in lots of areas - personal hygiene, cleaning my room, they are teaching budgeting skills. Also going on holiday breaks which help me to improve my mental health. Everyday skills like doing my washing, cleaning and making cakes and trifle, economy meals. I have come out of my shell and learning how to improve my everyday life skills. Without the support I am receiving I would not cope without it.
I like living at Rocklee Care Home. I enjoy going on holidays. I like my food at Rocklee Care Home.
The care home is excellent I have no complaints. Very good.
I am in good health. I am getting out more to Wolverhampton, Penkridge and Hanley. I enjoy going on holidays at home and abroad.
I like being at Rocklee. I like the food at Rocklee. I like reviews. I like going into Stafford town. I like going by bus.
We go on holidays so we can be near the sea and the town is always in walking distance. We get plenty of sea air by walking along the seafront. We are usually there from Monday to Friday. The staff are very helpful we have two small pet rabbits had them a month or two now. When I am having my injections at St Georges I always pick some dandelions for the rabbits on route there and back. Some holidays I don't go on I stay at Rocklee. It is very peaceful when the others are away.
Our son has been at Rocklee for over 5 years. Unfortunately, his illness is now such that his needs can no longer be met, albeit that to date his care has been second to none. The care and compassion he received at Rocklee, in our opinion, will be hard to beat. His illness is as such that he cannot remain in a placement where he has too much freedom.
Rocklee has longterm staff, friendly and homely little abode. We all get on well together. It's very good with rules and meaning. The manager is available at all times. Staff are always well prepared and support and always involving other people like family, doctors and friends. Staff hold great knowledge about nursing and mental health. I feel at home and safe and happy at Rocklee. We also have our independence.
I went to Blackpool on day trip with the staff on the trip. We had an incredible trip. We went on the motorway, M6 which took about 2 hours. The staff keep so interested, we all had a very good day and we had fish and chips there.
The experience of living in a house is; a nice bedroom and a nice garden. We sometimes go on holiday either in England, Wales or Scotland. I have a nice bedroom with furniture that I keep clean and tidy. I get along with the staff and enjoy the food available four times a day.
Good holiday, good food.
Well I was losing weight and I was told to eat more fruit and veg and cut down on chocolate and not so many coffee drinks but tea, water and pop by the staff at Rocklee and I have now put on a stone!! We were on holiday, I nearly fell down the stairs no sooner that we got there. So one of the staff at the hotel helped me with my bag I came with which I was very thankful for. I am pleased of the help in the home and outside.
The staff are friendly and meals are good.
Once again, Rocklee continues to excel in regards to the care and safeguarding of our son, in what we would only describe as difficult circumstances. Yet at no time do the management or staff show any sign of negativity and always continue to strive to achieve a positive outcome to the challenges they face on a daily basis.
Staff support me. I can bake cakes. I can learn skills. I like the sea and on day trips. Rocklee is home.
I have just returned from a holiday with my sister and the residents, we had a great time on the beach collecting shells, playing games and paddling in the sea. We also went and played ten pin bowling, crazy golf and we also went on a day trip to Fantasy Island where we went shopping. We all had a great time together.
I have set myself goals and in the first week, I have got myself a voluntary job in a charity shop. I look forward to it to meet new people and move forward in my life and get skills to live in my own home. I have done such a lot in 12 months. I am pleased with myself.
Staff are very good with all their work but still find time for one to ones. Staff have time for all residents and they all listen to things I ask for and about.
Rocklee is first class. Staff very helpful and all staff do a very good job. They make sure I take my pills and find things to do to keep me up to date with all things.
