View Full Details of Standon HouseReally friendly nursing home, very clean and tidy and all residents are very well cared for. My dad settled in instantly ( September 2024) he feels comfortable and safe and his medical needs taken care of. Staff are very friendly and attentive. Dad has Dementia and staff are always patient and kind. Given me a peace of mind he is in great hands. Lots of different activities goes on daily for the residents. Dad's favourite is the singing / music. I love seeing the pics / videos of him enjoying this via the social media page :-)
Dad moved into Standon House just over 18 months ago. He settled in straight away with a warm welcome on arrival and has flourished ever since. Every time we visit he praises the staff, the food, his room and everyone around him. "I am so well looked after" is his favourite phrase. Dad has been given a new lease of life enjoying many of the activities including Bingo (he likes to win), Quizzes, Singing and, most recently we have found out, armchair exercises. This has really given him interests and created some memorable times. It is wonderful that relatives are invited to activities and our granddaughter has been able to join in with them too. We have had refreshments and buffets with Dad creating shared experiences that we then talk about on our next visit. Every time we visit we are welcomed with a smile and thanked for visiting when we leave. We are happy because he is safe, secure and contented. Staff are like friends to the residents and families for this we thank you.
Dad moved to Standon House just over 6 weeks ago and from the day he arrived all the staff made him and the family feel extremely welcome. The care and support that he is receiving is first class and as a result he has settled in easily and looks well and happy. Nothing is too much trouble and you are always greeted with a friendly smile when you arrive and given regular feedback on how he is doing. Thank you for making his transition to a care home stress-free.
A big thank you to the staff and managers at Standon House particularly for the afternoon tea that they arranged for Mum and the majority of her immediate family (18 in total). It was a real treat for Mum who really enjoyed the attention being lavished upon her and seeing her family together. A wonderful supply of snacks and cakes along with prosecco, tea and coffee all supplied at Standon House expense. A special thanks to the lady for arranging it all and not forgetting the other lady who came in on her day off to help and the other staff members on duty during this time. Mum has now been resident in Standon for over twelve months and has received outstanding care during this period. All staff are very professional and are fully aware of Mum's needs (eyesight and hearing as well as mobility) and make sure that she is involved in all the entertainment provided.
A big shout out to the staff that helped make Mom's birthday very special. I can't thank you enough, she was overwhelmed by it all. Thank you so much. It's taken mom a long time to settle in, a long long time! The staff have been very patient and she seems to have turned a corner. She's very happy there and has a great relationship with the carers. I do think there should be more music quizzes! I enjoy them myself! Mom is a very fussy eater and again the staff try to accommodate this.
I moved my 89-year-old mom into Standon House a short while. The manager has been incredible in helping me through the process and getting me all the support we need. My mom is extremely happy living there and the staff that work with her every day are amazing. I feel extremely comfortable knowing that she is in safe and caring hands at Standon, and I am so pleased she is well taken care of.
My mother who is 97 years old is a very independent woman and didn't look forward to going into a care home. But Standon House has done wonders to make her very welcome and a part of the big family, The staff are wonderful to her and nothing is too much trouble, and care for her dearly. The kitchen makes very tasty food with a good variety of dishes every day. We didn't think my mother would settle but she is enjoying being there more each week we visit her.
More than happy with all aspects of Standon House. It is comforting to know that my mom is receiving the care that she deserves. All of the staff are friendly and attentive, not only to residents, but also to visitors.
Mum has happily lived at Standon House for over four years. She considers it her home and is loved and looked after by all staff as if she is family. As a regular visitor, I am always welcomed with cheer and good grace. Her care has altered appropriately to her condition and is delivered with respect and without condescension, ensuring she can exercise a level of will over her life. Humour is important to her and she enjoys the good-natured and appropriate banter with staff.
All the staff are friendly, caring and efficient and have enabled Dad to live as fully as possible. Dad is very fond of food and he is not disappointed with what the kitchen provides. I have also been made to feel very welcome and included in all aspects of Dad’s care and daily life. I can rest in the knowledge Dad is in safe hands.
Both of my parents are currently in Standon House and have been there for 18 months. Having them there is a huge relief. They get the care they need but more than excellent care they get friendship and attention and genuine care from the staff. In addition, I get support and friendship too. Communication is very good and someone is always on the end of a phone. There are always activities offered and gentle encouragement to join in. It has a comfortable and homely, familial atmosphere. Lots of pictures and residents' own crafts are displayed. Quiet rooms as well as activity.
My wife spent 12 months in Standon House. The attention she received was first class throughout. The final 10 days were very demanding on the staff. During this period she was receiving end of life care, the staff and the community nurses were faultless as was the visiting theologian.
My mother has been in Standon House for a number of years now. I am entirely satisfied that she has been cared for in a proper and dignified manner. I have always found the management and staff to be very helpful and friendly.
