View Full Details of The WillowsMom came to The Willows approximately six months ago. Initially, due to Mom's Alzheimer's, it was upsetting but the team made Mom and us, her family, feel confident that she was safe, healthy, engaged and treated with respect. The daily activities, outings and events are really good and engaging. The staff are always happy to discuss Mom's care and any concerns we may have. All of the team have a very good cohesive way in caring for their charges. Thank you.
I have limited experience of care homes as my brother has been a resident for a short time, this however includes being in two homes. Firstly emergency respite care for two weeks and then to the home where he has been a resident now for five months. Comparing the two homes I am much happier with the care he is receiving at The Willows as the staff engage with individual activities as well as sharing group activities. He seems more settled and happy. The staff are always welcoming and helpful. The Willows has a very homely atmosphere where the care for the residents and their wellbeing is apparent.
Mom has been at The Willows for a while now she is very settled and gets on well with everyone. The staff are very caring. Lots of activities go on there. I have found the communication between myself and the staff very good too.
As my brother has only been in two care homes I cannot compare others. Having said that I am much happier with the care and staff at The Willows. He was previously in a care home in Stafford for two weeks respite care and I was not impressed with the place or the care he received there. Whilst at The Willows my brother does seem happier and the staff generally do seem to care for the residents. The Willows feels very homely unlike the care home where he had his respite care.
My sister has been at The Willows since October 2023 and compared to where she was before she is much happier. The staff are all lovely and caring and the activities that happen most days have helped bring her out of her shell. I know she looks forward to seeing one member of staff in particular!
Everything is just perfect, staff, food and cleanliness.
My Mother has been a resident for 12 months and is really happy and settled there. The staff are excellent and the management are always available and swift to respond to questions or issues. Regular trips out and about to the local shops and facilities are provided as well as in-house entertainment. The atmosphere is relaxed but professional and I certainly feel that all staff see Mom as an individual and provide her with a high level of care.
Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Residents bedroom is very bright and fresh. Communal areas are all very homely and well-kept. Gives the feeling of being someone's private home rather than a care facility.
My cousin has been in permanent residence since March 2024. I make frequent visits and find all the day staff to be friendly, efficient and very caring to the residents. I have nothing but good feelings about The Willows.
My dad has been a resident at The Willows since March of this year. He is very settled there and is very well looked after by all of the staff. I cannot find a negative thing to say about The Willows. Staff are very kind and attentive to all of the residents. And communications are good between the care home and myself. Food is very good and they have plenty to eat, three good meals a day plus snacks. There is always water or squash available for them and plenty of hot drinks provided during the day. Rooms are lovely and comfortable and very homely. There are always plenty of fun activities. Staff take residents out regularly to the shops and there is a nice garden space for residents to sit in when weather is good. All of my dad's medications are taken care of so I don't have to worry about that either. There is also a visiting chiropodist and hairdresser too. I would recommend The Willows to anyone that is looking for a safe caring residential home for their loved ones.
Absolutely brilliant home. The staff goes above and beyond for all the residents. It feels like a family. They are happy to talk to you about the care your loved one is receiving and the residents aren't just a name, each member of staff seems to know them all.
We put both of our elderly parents in there in 2021. The fees were £3000 each for a four-week period. During that period over the next 3 years, they increased the fees to £4400, in the meantime building a brand new state-of-the-art twenty-something bedroomed building as an annexe to the care home. During the stay they were continually losing clothes and other items telling us that shavers had been lost, but when we eventually moved my father out of the home he had four shavers in his belongings. We coped with these kinds of obstacles, but the real problem was when my mother passed away. The owner charged us £1500 for keeping two black bin liners in a room saying we should have removed them. No compassion, no text, call, or email to inform us. When we eventually got the black bags half the clothes in them were not hers. We have moved my father now and all I will say be careful, this is one greedy owner who does not have much compassion, if any at all for his clients.
Mom was in The Willows for five weeks. She was bedbound and end-of-life. Her care was first-class, chatty, attentive staff, where nothing was too much for them and always very caring. When Mom couldn't get downstairs for the entertainment, it came to her in her room. Our experience at The Willows was one of pleasure and ease and the fact she was safe.
My uncle has been a resident of The Willows for approximately 12 months. He suffers from Alzheimer's disease but he is still in generally good physical health and he is mobile. The Willows has provided him with a comprehensive and pragmatic care package since I asked them to admit him. I always find him smartly dressed and he has been served good food leading him to put on weight. The Willows is a clean and warm venue. Members of staff are always visible in the lounges and dining room, keeping an eye on the resident's health and safety. At Christmas, a very nice concert and buffet was arranged as well as a celebration Christmas Day lunch. My uncle has been provided with compassionate, patient and friendly care. His room is kept very clean and his laundry is done regularly. I have been contacted by the manager when safeguarding issues have arisen and been resolved. I am politely told when he needs new clothes or when extras like hairdressing and chiropody have to be paid for.
Without naming names, the entertainment manager is brilliant, very caring and keeps the home going. All the residents seem to love him, he goes out of his way to help. Think they need more cups of tea/coffee. Need someone at weekends to sit or talk to residents (not everyone has visitors). Need tea/coffee machine for visitors.
The Willows Care Home is an exceptional care home. Staff are all friendly and make all visitors very welcome, everywhere is lovely and clean and warm. Each resident has their own en-suite room, rooms are cosy and homely, there is a nice dining room and food is home-cooked and really nice. There're two nice TV lounges so residents have a choice of which one they would like to sit in. Residents are well looked after and nothing is too much trouble. I would recommend The Willows to anyone who's looking for good care for their family.
Very helpful and caring staff. Originally my dad went in for respite care but now has become a permanent resident. His comments have been how homely it feels, comfortable, food is great and happy to be there.
The Willows accepted my mother-in-law with open arms and settled her in the setting making her feel accepted straight away. She was very happy with the staff as they showed dignity and respect towards her and made her stay comfortable. As a vegetarian, her dietary needs were met with delicious meals daily. The staff showed such compassion for my mother-in-law and in her final days, the care was the best informing her family every step of the way. I cannot thank them enough.
The Willows staff and management were amazing from the beginning. The bedroom was beautiful with all safety and mobility aids in place. Special meals were made as my nan is a pescetarian. Variety of meals with assistance always at hand. The staff went above and beyond. Caring, friendly and empathetic not only towards Nan but also family members. Plenty of activities during the day and a very homely feel. I can't thank them all enough.
Can’t praise this place enough. Excellent manager and staff. They have gone above and beyond to help, support and care for my Mum and make her feel settled there. She is happier than anywhere else and feels at home and at ease with the staff. They have shown her care, dignity and a life worth living. Thank you.
