View Full Details of Davlyn HouseDavlyn House has been a wonderful help with their friendly staff and excellent care. It is well organised and very clean, they also go above and beyond to meet your needs/requirements. There are plenty of activities which are well-structured and catered to everyone. Couldn't recommend enough.
My dad moved into Davlyn House a few months ago and he loves it. He says he is treated like the king. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff who are caring for him. It's a lovely friendly and caring home.
Mum is being cared for wonderfully in Davlyn House. She is safe and content with her lot. Having had a couple of falls, the staff notified us immediately and it is such a relief knowing that there was someone on hand immediately, a stark contrast to the situation when she fell in her own home. I am fully aware that Mum can be difficult but the staff are unfailingly cheerful and encouraging. I hope that she can be persuaded to mix more but she is conscious of her lack of mobility and failing eyesight. A special word for the care manager who has done everything to make sure Mum is content and is always positive about her future and ongoing care.
My mum made Davlyn House her home recently and is settling in well. All the staff are very attentive and caring. Mum loves the music-related singing and dancing activities, earning herself the title of dancing queen. Thanks to all at Davlyn House.
Mum stayed in Davlyn House for respite from December 2022. It was chosen for being small and very cosy. The manager is extremely caring and compassionate. As Mum's dementia became worse, she adapted the bedroom and her care plan to suit Mum's growing needs. The carers worked very hard to give her daily personal care and were always on hand to help out with any problems.
My mother-in-law initially stayed at the home for respite care but once a place became available she was more than happy to become a full-time resident. In all this time she has been well looked after and the staff spend time encouraging her to become involved in all the home activities which I understand are numerous. All her needs are well catered for and the home always keeps me informed of any issues which occur during the time I am not able to visit. I can highly recommend Davlyn House and the staff.
The staff at Davlyn House consistently show patience, compassion and respect, and I feel extremely confident and reassured that my mother's needs are being met. My mother moved into the home earlier this year, and the staff could not have done more to help her settle. They've made a genuine effort to find out about her life and what she likes/dislikes, and they always keep the family updated (including photos and videos). The running of the home, by the manager and office staff (including the head office) is also very efficient and professional - they are clearly very experienced and dedicated in their roles. Davlyn House offers organised activities/events for the residents to experience too if they wish to participate, e.g. singing, exercise, music entertainment, crafts, and panto, to name a few. This clean, warm and welcoming home also has a pleasant outdoor area, offers excellent food and some of the bedrooms have a lovely view of the fields/horses. I would highly recommend Davlyn House.
Though been busy, the staff find time to attend to my mother's needs. They are pleasant and caring. They adapt well and adjust to the many different characters they have to deal with, they all stay jovial and patient.
Attended Christmas party on Saturday 9th December. Staff worked extremely hard ensuring that both myself and mum were well looked after. Food was excellent. With a good range of sandwiches, side dishes, quiches, salad and deserts, it could not be faulted and a credit to staff who had obviously worked extremely hard in producing such a delicious buffet. A present from Santa for all residents and a selection box for all children, was a lovely touch. A big thank you to all staff and management for all you hard work.
My sister became a resident at Davlyn House around September this year after hearing and reading of the home’s good reputation. Even after just a few visits to my sister I was not disappointed. The staff have been second to none in helping my sister, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, to settle in. The organised activities, the one to one care and attention, the regular close communication with family has collectively been reassuring. I have also received photographs and videos that have shown my sister happy and smiling in spite of the effects of this cruel disease. She has made me smile for the first time in ages. The manager is very personable and obviously holds the residents well being as a priority. I cannot thank everyone there enough.
This is quite simply an outstanding care home. The staff are amazing, they go beyond their job and care for Mum with affection. She couldn't be in a better place and we are grateful every day that we found Davlyn.
My wife spent respite care at Davlyn House and also attended some daycare sessions. The care and love that she received was amazing. The staff were so attentive and supportive. I can’t recommend them highly enough. Thank you all.
We could not be happier with the care our mum is receiving. The staff consistently show kindness, compassion and respect. We feel our mum is loved and cared for by everyone involved helping us to feel confident her needs are being met. Despite the challenges of Covid restrictions, Davlyn has retained its warm and welcoming approach and we are deeply grateful to all of the staff for all they do.
The care for my mum has been absolutely excellent, she has a lovely room, very well catered for providing lovely food and always served so well. The staff are always very pleasant and friendly and make you feel welcome when visiting and always help to make the residents feel even more special on their birthdays and Christmas. The activities the staff organise are amazing, the “world tour” they did earlier in the year including the different foods and costumes and music was great, I wanted to join them myself! Our family are really happy Mum is in Davlyn House, we know she is happy and very well looked after. Well done Davlyn working and looking after all the residents through Covid-19, they have done a fantastic job and we all look forward to visiting without restrictions and enjoying the family atmosphere you feel when you go. Great work Davlyn and a big thank you to the manager and all the staff from all our family.
Visiting Davlyn is a joy! You can feel the warmth and love between everyone who lives or works there and nothing is too much trouble. Management goes the extra mile in their support for not only the residents but also their relatives too. My connection with Davlyn has been for many years as I often visit as part of a local Church group. I have recommended it to many friends when doing that difficult search of finding a care home for a much-loved relative and in November 2019 was so thankful to find a place for someone I love dearly. (P. S. I've been fortunate enough to be invited for food at Davlyn... it's amazing and their buffets are legendary)!
My mother has been in this home now for over 10 years and I cannot speak highly enough of the care she has been given whilst she has been there. The facilities have recently been updated, but what matters most is the staff, who genuinely love my mother, and treat her with great dignity and respect. No matter when we visit, no matter who comes to speak to us about my mother, the standard of staff is very high. I give thanks for the fact that we found Davlyn House, they have been superb and made the later years of my Mum's life as comfortable and as happy as possible. I would recommend their quality of care to anyone who is in the position of finding a home for an elderly relative in need.
My mum has improved dramatically since moving to Davlyn House earlier this year. She has put on weight because she enjoys the food so much and is so much happier in this environment as it is just like living in her own home. She is treated with dignity and respect by all the staff and she is cared for almost like one of the family! I particularly like that she is given choices on what to do in many respects as she still needs to be actively using her brain. Her muscle tone has also improved as the staff make the time to encourage her to walk using her frame rather than take the easy option of using a wheelchair to get her around the home more quickly. I am delighted with the progress of my mum at Davlyn House and it is all clearly down the attitude and professionalism of the manager and her brilliant staff, especially as they have had to manage a considerable period of time of buildings improvements which have not yet been reflected in the description of Davlyn House and its facilities.
My Mum moved into this care home in January 2018 having been in another care home for 18mths. I wish I could have got her into here sooner (the home having been under renovation) she has come on so well since moving here. She has gained weight, has had her Diabetes medication reduced and is NOT doubly incontinent as the previous home stated. She can now get up from a chair on her own and walks quite well with a frame. The staff at Davlyn House are so very caring and there is not a high turnover of staff, most have been there for years. It is a smaller care home and I believe this to be important as the staff know the residents well with all their little quirks! They take time to get to know each resident individually and know their likes and dislikes. The manager, always keeps me informed of Mums progress and takes time to talk to me when I visit. She is a very hands-on manager, and really approachable, nothing is too much trouble.
