My lovely nan, who has dementia bless her, came to Butts Croft August 23. The staff here have done nothing but go above and beyond for her since day 1. The effort and care that goes into this place is like nothing I have ever seen. Knowing my nan's needs are met and we can have peace of mind knowing she is safe and happy is something you just can’t put a price on. The staff conduct parties, games and activities often to keep the residents' spirits up and always make sure they’re well dressed and fed. I love how friendly and how well the staff talk to the residents, it’s very heartwarming to hear when I visit. We are always greeted with big smiles and tea and biscuits! I could not recommend Butts Croft enough!
My mum was taken to this home in November from the hospital for an assessment, I was worried I didn’t want mum in a home but my niece and I could not give her the care she needed as we could not be there 24/7. She was sent to the home for a 6-8 week assessment. I went the next day when Mum was taken there, the staff were and are amazing nothing is too much trouble for them. Mum has now made new friends and she joins in all the activities. After the assessment we decided with Mum for her to remain there, she loves the team leaders and she loves the staff, Mum is happy so I’m happy. I feel we are very fortunate to have found such a caring home. The care Mum gets is fabulous, the home was recently taken over and the CQC rating was based on the fact they had new management, please do not let the CQC rating fool you, this is a fabulous care home I would recommend to anyone looking for a home. The manager is present in the home and is a very nice and very approachable person.
My mother, who has dementia, moved into Butts Croft in August 2023 after a stay in hospital. The staff made her feel at home and are professional, very caring and are always at hand to meet my mother's needs. She is smartly dressed and enjoys the food prepared for her. The staff have put on Remembrance Day & Christmas parties and yesterday baked a cake for my mother’s birthday. There are also daily activities put on for residents to participate in, which helps keep my mother active. I have nothing but high praise for the management and staff at Butts Croft House, they communicate and keep me updated regarding my mother’s wellbeing either in person or by telephone. The staff make it feel like a family atmosphere and are very warm and welcoming. I would not hesitate in recommending Butts Croft House if you are looking for a care home for your loved one to stay in within a safe and friendly environment. Thank you to the manager you have a wonderful team who make my mother very happy.
In August 2023, after time in hospital, my husband, who has Alzheimer’s, was discharged to Butts Croft. This was initially a very difficult time for me as his wife and main carer. I needn’t have worried - from the moment I spoke to staff on the phone to arrange setting up his room, I was put at ease and made to feel very welcome. Everyone at Butts Croft worked so hard to help my husband settle in - sometimes, due to the dementia, he has not been easy but all staff have a consistently calm and respectful approach and show a genuine fondness for all residents. The home is very proactive with seeking assistance from the doctor or hospital, if necessary, and communication is excellent for relatives. I am not afraid to ask for updates. I always feel looked after and welcome. There are lovely activities for the residents and relatives are invited to special events. I feel very lucky that my husband has a home at Butts Croft. He is safe and very well cared for. Thank you everyone.
My father was admitted to this care home approximately 7 years ago. The care home is a wonderful and calming experience. It is always clean. There are activities and at Christmas, they had a wonderful party with a wonderful impressionist. He has everything he could need. The manager and staff are so caring and they think the world of him. The food is very varied with a really good menu and is changed every day. The rooms are light and airy. I feel I can always go and see him and talk to the staff with any concerns. My father loves it there.
Dad's been at Butts Croft for nearly a year. The staff are wonderful. I take my hat off to them for what is a very demanding job and it's done with love and care like it's one of their own family. You can visit any time, any day (including at meal times) and you're always welcome, again like part of the family. During a recent short hospital stay, Dad asked for them on multiple occasions - enough said.
My sister has been in Butts Croft since April. She has settled well and enjoys all the pampering she has. The staff are caring and thoughtful of my sister's needs, and the staff try very hard to create a happy and supportive environment for all the patients.
Visiting my friend, and his low moods have improved, he seems to have settled in really well he seems very happy staying at Butts Croft. All staff makes my visits welcoming, happy and reassuring. I am happy that my friend calls it home. All levels of staff are very caring towards my friend and look after him well. Staff encourages my friend to interact in activities that he enjoys and that makes him happy. I feel happy when I leave to know my friend is happy and well looked after.
Always have a great laugh while visiting Butts Croft Care Home, the staff go to great lengths to fulfill requests, nothing seems to much trouble. During the recent covid outbreak, the rules were strictly adhered too and the residents were kept safe at all times. Over the last two years the staff have become not just friends but part of our family.
The current manager is very nice however trying her best with what she has to work with. A few lovely staff, lower management unprofessional. Poorly managed with sloppy practices and negligent in areas of care. As we found out the hard way. As for the GP surgery, they failed to deliver the care required. Bedrooms resemble that of student accommodation. Outdated not well equipped. Be prepared to provide bedroom furniture such as a decent wardrobe and chest of drawers. No activities, the term God's waiting room is accurate. Never be afraid to follow up on any concerns and raise complaints.
Thank you to everyone in the Butts Croft team. The care you all provide Mum is excellent. She looks really well and it's been brilliant to see her smiling and interacting with fellow residents and staff. Please keep doing what you are doing, it's making a massive difference to my mum each and every day.
A big thank you to all at Butts Croft, especially one Manager in particular, for the lovely remembrance celebrations, last Saturday. Lovely buffet, songs and memorabilia. Staff are very caring and kind to residents and their families.
The staff at the care home really care about my Mum and Dad. They do everything they can to keep them safe and happy. The home holds events and celebrates their birthdays and anniversaries. If there are any problems, they keep me fully informed and consult me about all issues. The staff are very friendly and helpful. There is a family atmosphere and a good sense of humour.
I just wanted to say thank you to the staff and nurses for all the care that they do for all the residents at Butts Croft House. My husband and I visited my mum several times in September. We live overseas and are not able to visit weekly. The staff were so welcoming and kind. They make it feel like home, so tentative and loving. We all had a lovely time together getting to know each other with my mum. My mum is happy and that makes all our family happy. Also, the gardens are kept so beautifully. Thank you for all you do!
My brother settled really well into Butts Croft with the help of all the caring staff throughout the home. He is now in his 9th Year of his stay due to dementia. My family and I have found the staff helpful and caring every time we see them or talk on the phone, keeping me up to date with his welfare etc. The standard of the Food is very good and cooked in their own kitchen that always looks clean and tidy and my brother's room is always clean and tidy. The garden has a large balcony overlooking a lovely large garden. We have had many walks around when visiting him with our dog that was welcome at the home and other residents were happy to see and pet her and brought memories back to a lot of them. Butts Croft is like a home from home and I would recommend it to anyone who needs a caring home for a loved one.
My dad has settled in really well. All the staff are really good and caring. His face lights up when he sees them. We are really happy with the care my dad's receiving at Butt's croft. It was my mom and dad's 60th wedding anniversary on the 15/9/2022 and all the staff made my mom and dad's day very special and the cook made my mom and dad a lovely anniversary cake.
The staff of Butts Croft Care home staged a garden party for residents and relatives last Sunday. The party was staged on a balcony overlooking their gorgeous gardens. There was lots of very nice food laid on cooked by their excellent cook. The staff worked tirelessly keeping everyone happy. It was a lovely day and the party was very well organised. Well done Butts Croft House.
Poorly managed, poor facilities, residents left at risk of negligence as my poor grandmother and our family had to find out the hard way. Would not recommend this home and it was only meant for a temporary stay.
Found the property and facilities to be in poor repair and an unsatisfactory standard. Staff were in general kind and caring but a lack of experience seemed to affect the experience of care! Poor management response to concerns when raised.
