View Full Details of The ChimneysThe Chimneys Care Home management is excellent. It's well-ran and hands-on. It has a lovely, friendly atmosphere and staff are welcoming. The care is excellent and they are respectful to the residents. They have activities and singing which is very good. My husband needs a special diet, which is well-managed and food is brilliant. They try to make the same food as the other residents, so he feels the same as everyone else. Housekeeping is great, it's kept really clean, washing is lovely and clean and ironed. It's lovely, can't praise them enough.
Well - where to start! The Chimneys is a fabulous place! Mum loves it there and we call the staff her second family - all so kind, caring and friendly - nothing too much trouble and they treat the residents like family. The food is fantastic and the entertainment outstanding. They also look after visitors and made a lovely cake for Dad's 94th birthday - so lovely!
All the staff are so friendly, polite and part of the extended family. They not only care for the residents but family members as well. Nothing is too much trouble. Entertainment activities are excellent. Food is fantastic.
As stated in previous correspondence, The Chimneys is a fine organisation. I recently attended a visitors' meeting which confirmed my view of the details concerning the ratings. The issue of value for money I have ticked based on comments from relatives. Christmas party staged today went off well. I appreciate all that is done and consider myself friends with all who are at The Chimneys.
My mother is in a safe, secure and happy environment, where she is treated with dignity and understanding by all staff. The Chimneys is managed efficiently and has an excellent activities organiser. We are kept informed if there are any concerns about Mum's health.
Every time I come to Chimneys Care home I see my mum looked after very well. My mum enjoys singers occasionally coming in and different activities they organise. I feel like she is very well cared for. The staff is very helpful and go out their way to help.
I am impressed with the care my sister is given.
Each time I visit there is always something going on which involves the residents. I've seen singers who encourage the residents to sing along and play instruments - tambourine, maracas and castanets. I've also seen quizzes. They also have fitness classes and board games.
When it was decided that my wife, an Alzheimer patient should go into a care home, my daughter and I took it upon ourselves to visit most of the 'care homes' in the area, including the newer and larger ones. We both came to the conclusion that The Chimneys is far and away the best we visited. Since my wife moved in, in early July she has settled down very quickly and stressed to my daughter's and me how happy she is. The staff have marked that she is settled in very quickly and has demonstrated how happy she is. Thank you so much The Chimneys for ensuring her ongoing happiness.
A well-run care home with plenty of activities where the residents appear happy and contented. A warm welcome always and very caring and professional. Staff are always willing to help with any needs and are approachable. Excellent value for money.
We were so nervous about finding the right home for Mum and we visited many homes at short or no notice. Chimneys stood out from all the others as such a caring place, with a real family feel to it, and as Chimneys is small they are able to involve all the residents whether it be a sing-song in the lounge, or a garden party, or just relaxing watching the tv in the main lounge or the little lounge. The care at Chimneys is superb. There is always someone on hand to help, or even just to sit and chat with Mum. I remember when Mum didn't want to do the activity so a particular member of staff asked her what she wanted to do. She wanted to go to the village so they took Mum and another lady in wheelchairs into the village for tea and cake. That kind of one-to-one care is what makes Chimneys so special. Mum has been there now for 2 months and has really settled in well, she's always clean and beautifully dressed. The staff member arranges excellent activities, lovely food, homely feel. Definitely well deserving of 5 stars.
The Chimneys staff are very friendly and welcoming. Residents are clean and tidy.
My mum was 100 last Friday and she would never have achieved such a remarkable age without the care and kindness of the staff at The Chimneys. They gave her a remarkable party and the food and organisation were exceptional. I cannot thank the staff and manager enough for all their care, patience and understanding that has helped her achieve this grand old age and still be able to dance with the Mayor on her big day. A huge thank you from all of the family; you do an amazing job.
Dad moved to Chimneys Care Home in January 2024. Chimneys Care Home is incredibly welcoming from the moment you step through the door till the time you leave. It is warm and cosy and the communal lounge is always very busy and a lot of fun. The meals are beautiful and with different choices. The staff are amazing, always available to talk to and have such a warm fondness towards all the residents. Special days like Valentine's Day, Pancake Day and Saints' Days are always planned with events and fun things to do. Dad has settled in so well and is incredibly well looked after by all the fabulous staff. Thank you.
My mother is being cared for extremely well at The Chimneys. Her personal care and day-to-day care are exceptional, giving her the opportunity to be as independent as possible. Mum has a good choice of meals and can always have more if required. Mum recently had a birthday and was made to feel very special. I feel confident that she is in a safe environment and that her needs are taken care of.
My dad came to The Chimneys following the closure of his previous home. We were anxious as he had been so happy in his previous home, but had no need to worry. The staff are welcoming and kind and took time to introduce themselves and get to know my dad’s likes and dislikes. When I visit as I do not live locally, I spend a whole afternoon with my dad and witness kindness from staff to all residents and individual care to each person. The atmosphere is inviting and kind and I always feel welcome. The food looks delicious and judging from everyone’s clean plates tastes great too! Entertainment is varied and staff go out of their way to make sure everyone is included.
I would like to say that the care my sister is getting is excellent. The facilities, cleanliness, food and drinks are excellent. Activities are excellent and enjoyed by everyone including myself and others. The staff are excellent and caring to all. Value for money n/a. Overall experience - Excellent.
Lovely room, clean and safe. Staff (all) are excellent and very caring with all residents. There is always something going on to stimulate the residents. Thinking of booking in for a meal as the food menu is very good.
On entering, made welcoming, always clean and smells nice. Activities excellent, and carers join residents in having an enjoyable time. Toilets excellent.
Always made to feel welcome, the home has a lovely feel to it. We have seen a vast improvement in my nan since she has lived at the home which is testament to the care she is receiving from all the staff there. Daily activities, plenty of interaction and lots of laughter along the way.
