As a recently retired NHS Nurse I have been constantly very impressed with the personalised care and attention that my father-in-law received during his 3 years at Four Acres. His increasing care needs were always met, he loved living at Four Acres and regarded it as home and achieved his goal of living out his days there. Thank you Four Acres, you have been an excellent team of caring staff there. Please look after them.
The home cares and supports both the family and resident. I found everyone very caring and helpful. Everyone seems very happy and content to being there.
Very good experience just short on excellent as very few of the staff are not really caring, they do not treat residents as they would their own mother. Otherwise highly recommended. Our friend has been a resident for nearly 5 years and is very content.
My Mother has just spent a week’s respite at Four Acres and we were so pleased with the home. When she arrived, Mum was greeted by name by the staff which instantly eased any tension, and without any delay, we were taken to her room and introduced to the team leader and specific staff. There was no pressure on my Mother to do anything or go anywhere she didn’t want during her stay, and we could just tell that she’d been extremely well cared for and well-fed. It’s very hard as a daughter to walk off and leave a vulnerable parent with what are essentially strangers, but I felt confident and was told to call anytime for reassurance, and the deputy manager checked that I was alright as I left which was a very kind gesture. As a family, we have no concerns at all about using Four Acres in the future. A huge thank you to all the staff who made everything as easy as possible for us.
Four Acres is proving to be invaluable to my mother having found it necessary to cease living and coping on her own. She simply adores the building, staff, the many rooms to enter and the oh-so-friendly staff. She is no longer lonely at 93 years of age. I have observed many aspects of Four Acres myself as her daughter and I have no complaints whatsoever in the 5 months my mother has been resident there. Without doubt, every single employee meets the residents and me in the corridors with a beaming natural smile and says hello or exchanges a few pleasantries. So many activities are arranged and many trips out either in the minibus or to local cafes etc within walking or wheelchair distance. I can now relax knowing my mother is being cared for and she would not be anywhere else.
What a wonderful home. Nan was moved from a previous care home where she was neglected dirty underweight and withdrawn. Four Acres improved her quality of life and brought Nan out of her shell. Special thanks go to the staff in the last week of her life. They were all caring, kind, sympathetic and went above and beyond not just for Nan but for the whole family. Nothing was too much trouble and they looked after us all extremely well. I really can’t fault the care and compassion of the staff so much so our uncle now resides there and is also happy and well looked after.
The home is bright and spacious and the kind and caring staff ensured my sister-in-law enjoyed the activities, good food and facilities available, especially the opportunity to have a hairdo and foot care. It is a pleasure to visit.
Such pleasant, friendly and caring staff who are always approachable. There is a lovely and happy atmosphere there and the residents look very content from being looked after so well. My auntie had been there three years and cannot talk highly enough about Four Acres Care Home.
Mum had quite a few needs that stretched this hard working and caring team, but they always remained positive and went that extra mile. Mum is now in nursing but thank you to Four Acres for caring for her needs over the last two years and to always being welcoming to us as a family. A staff member went to see Mum in her new setting and Mum was over the moon to see her again, hasn't stopped talking about seeing you again.
Mum has been here a while and is not the easiest of residents to look after, but with the help of the home manager, who is a superstar, and her very supportive staff that look after mum so well on a daily basis, they have realised how to deal with her now to avoid any issues. The staff are so welcoming when we visit and I feel like they care for us too. Its come on leaps and bounds since the home manager has taken over, who is very approachable should you need to discuss anything with her, and it shows in the awards and improvement in the CQC rating thank you to all concerned its much appreciated the care you give our lovely mum.
Came to see my nan last week. Such a wonderful place. The home is extremely clean and the staff are there if you need anything. My nan is hard of hearing and she lost so many hearing aids. The new manager is brilliant she arranged the audiology and got everything done in two weeks. Very polite young lady. She even invited me to the next relative meeting. Great achievement on CQC, it's outstanding.
Mum settled down very well at Four Acres. She came in September 2021. Care staff are lovely and welcoming. Manager is attentive and sorts out any problems when we reach out to her in her office. She is lovely and has an open door to listen to anything.
I am delighted with my mum's placement here in Four Acres. During this first year, she has maintained good health and thrived. She is very happy here and always speaks so highly of the staff. The home is kept scrupulously clean and Mum enjoys all the activities that staff offer in such a creative way. The new Manager is so approachable and caring. She has outstanding communication skills and is very proactive in encouraging a positive team attitude. I know I can always phone and visit. It is a wonderful place for Mum to be safe in.
We came to see our aunt after a three years later. Can't believe the change in Four acres. The new manager has made a very different atmosphere. She actually came out of the office with a smile just to ask how was the visit. The home is so clean. They have passed CQC, big acheivement and so proud of the team. Care staff was around, and they actually made sure every one was safe and was happy to see so many staff aroud. Activity was happening and my aunt was there. Unbelievable the hard work the manager put on for four acres and can see it have paid off.
Mum was placed at Four Acres after being discharged from hospital following surgery for a broken hip. She chose her room but wanted to go to the dining room for a meal before she’d even unpacked. She felt at home immediately. Mum was to go back to her own apartment after a couple of weeks but she was so settled and happy that both she and her family felt it was better for her to stay. She enjoys the pampering and loves the activities. I haven’t seen her so well for quite a long time. The staff all know her and ensure she is well cared for. I have also been able to stop worrying about her but I appreciate being kept up to date if she needs anything bringing when I next visit. Mum was a little out of sorts last weekend and the manager rang to tell me what they had done to ensure Mum was well cared for. Very impressive.
Very warm and welcoming environment. Staff and management is very approachable. They recently moved Dad to a downstairs room which had helped him greatly. Dad is more involving in more activities and visiting to the dining area to have his meals with his friends he knows from studley.
Mom came recently and has settled in really well with the help of the manager and the team. The care is very good and Mom’s need are being met very well. I know she is happy as the used to call me two to three times a day and now she doesn’t call me, I have to call her which is a positive step in her happiness.
My mother lived in Four Acres, Studley for nearly 3 years from July 2019 till 7 May 2022. The home is decorated and furnished really well and each wing has its own dining area/lounge so the residents are not overwhelmed with lots of people. Mum made some friends and some of the carers went over and above to make her feel at home and secure. Lots of friendly staff from reception to domestics, carers, handymen, CTLs and management. Thank you for making mum and her family’s dementia journey easier and for treating her with dignity and respect.
Our Mother has been at FourAcres care home for 3 years. She has severe dementia. The staff are very kind and thoughtful and a great improvement has been made recently with the appointment of the new manager. Throughout covid it has been challenging for the families and staff and I applaud them all on how they coped with the demanding challenges. I would recommend the care home to anyone who is considering the care, especially if they have dementia.
Our mum has been a resident at Four Acres for just over 2-years, and my family and I are delighted by the appointment of a new manager (formerly the deputy manager). Mum has advanced dementia and is sadly unable to do anything for herself, but she is happy and well looked after by the dedicated, caring staff. The home feels warm and welcoming, and there is nowhere else we would rather her be. In 2020 and 2021, lockdowns presented families with difficult challenges - not always sympathetically handled by the previous manager. However, we have every confidence in the new manager, a lovely young woman who has the experience and high standards combined with empathy and great people skills. I can wholeheartedly recommend Four Acres for anyone looking for a warm and caring home for their loved ones.
