View Full Details of Long Lea Residential Care HomeI cannot explain how happy I am with the care my mum receives at Long Lea. She always looks really clean, tidy and well cared for. There are plenty of activities to keep her stimulated and engaged but plenty of places for quiet time if needed. The staff are all amazing and keep us well informed of everything.
I have got nothing but so many thanks to Long Lea, my mum went in there not eating, or drinking very much at all. I saw how much the staff cared for her, helped her and most of all, if only for a short time, I got to see my mum safe, happy and generally cared for. Thank you so much to all the staff who cared for my mum.
My dad has sadly passed on and I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the staff at Long Lea. He enjoyed his time with you all and was very happy there. When I visited he always told me of the care and company he enjoyed with you all. I was always offered a cup of tea and made to feel welcome. At his funeral, some of the staff attended and had a quick word with me. Midland Care planted a tree in his memory, a really lovely gesture. I can't speak highly enough of you all, thank you for the care you gave my father.
My dad has dementia and has been a resident of Long Lea since April. A hard transition for him and for us as a family. In the last few weeks, my dad had a visit to the local A&E and was fitted with a catheter which caused him an immense level of anxiety. The senior staff liaised with us throughout the few weeks before this was resolved. They worked with us to seek a solution. They were supportive of Dad and were aware of how he was on a daily basis when we phoned and talked to him when we visited. Everyone celebrated when the catheter was removed and it could stay out. We continue to be grateful to Long Lea for their care of Dad and of us as a family.
What a lovely afternoon we had, staff so very attentive to everyone but not in your face. My friend had had her hair washed and set, her personal care was tip-top. For a donation the family were given a lovely assortment of food to celebrate and she was presented with a nice birthday cake with candles. An afternoon we shall always remember. Staff always friendly - a great place for my friend to be. Thank you all.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere feels bus but the residents seem quite settled and at ease. I appreciate that the staff provided me with a chair shortly after I arrived. A delicious and very well-presented buffet tea plus a wonderful birthday cake was provided, it was my mother's birthday and the residents shared the tea with our family. My only concern is attention to toilet needs, getting the attention of staff, time taken to bring hoist and wheelchair, maybe more equipment needed?
When my 97-year-old mum arrived at Long Lea, she was still recovering from a very nasty fall in which she suffered severe burns. The staff were lovely and provided excellent medical care. They made her very welcome and encouraged her to participate in all the many activities. As Mum is hard of hearing, with poor eyesight i.e. mobility, the staff supported her and gave her back her confidence when dealing with social situations. Long Lea is a safe and caring environment, which allows its residents to flourish whatever their age and capability.
Both my parents have lived in Long Lea for 5 years. The carers are so supportive and really care for the residents. Dad sadly passed away on the 22nd of October, the end-of-life care was excellent. All the staff were genuinely upset and so attentive to his needs. Some actually came in to see him on their day off. Long Lea is a family home and made so by the love and caring staff.
Mum recently moved into long Lea Residential Care Home and the one word that immediately comes to mind is relief. Relief that she seems happier, content more relaxed than she has been for a while now. Mum frequently says things like "it's nice here isn't it" and "the food's good here". Long Lea Residential Care Home is a bright, cheery, well-kept place and we are always offered refreshments when we visit. The staff are all wonderful, caring people who not only help the residents adjust to their new home, but have also helped me adjust mentally to my mother being in a home, I would highly recommend Long Lea Residential Home to anyone that is looking for a care home.
My mum was unwell when she arrived at Long Lea Care Home. Having spent three weeks in hospital she was tired and frail. The kindness the carers showed to mum was beautiful. Two carers were there to help us in attending to her comforters to ready her for bed. As we had arrived late in the evening food was offered and we could stay as long as we wanted. Always being worried about her nighttime sleeping but we're never given cause for concern. Mum was given love from hard-working carers. The staff always helped.
Throughout Mum's short stay she was loved and cared for by all staff, from the lady in charge of laundry to the manager. Nothing was too much trouble. Visitors were always welcomed and supplied with drinks. We were able to go on holiday with peace of mind knowing that she would be well looked after.
I made a surprise visit taking time out from work as my mum has been a little unsettled due to only just being placed into this home after a bad experience in the previous home. I arrived to find mum had gone out for a coffee and cake with a staff member which was really lovely. She returned looking so calm and happy. It was very refreshing and I was so glad to see how settled she appeared. It goes without saying how brilliant the activities are and how well-kept mum is.
My Dad came to Long Lea on 30th January 2023. Settled well. The staff are really kind. He is more sociable now mixing with others than being on his own.
My father was reluctantly admitted due to very poor health and is now flourishing with the help and care of all the lovely staff here! The staff go above and beyond with the help and care they give; we can't thank them enough. Love seeing my father in the pictures doing a variety of activities.
I am extremely happy with the level of care my mother is receiving at Long Lea. All the staff are extremely friendly and caring and it is an absolute joy to come to the home to visit. Must also mention about a member of staff from Activities, she is so friendly and very bubbly and she always greets me with a wonderful warm smile. Her level of care is excellent. Please can you pass this commentary on to her. Must finally add the manager is extremely nice and friendly and very professional. Please keep up these wonderful standards and I am a very happy relative.
Amazing friendly staff, always willing to help. thanks for the love and care that you showed my Nan during her last days. You girls are angels. I would highly recommend the team at Long Lea Residential Care Home.
My husband went in for 2-weeks respite, and when I picked him up, his first words were; I have been treated like royalty. The food was great and he was never hungry, care staff excellent, very patient with him and dealt with all his needs. Under the circumstances with this virus, I praise this home highly.
We found the staff attentive, compassionate and nothing was too much trouble. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Palliative care made his last few days peaceful.
Very happy with the care offered to my Aunty. She has been a resident at Long Lea since May and has settled in well with the help and support of staff. The Manager is always on hand to answer any questions. We have recently attended a relatives meeting which was very informative. When considering care for my Aunty and visiting a number of local homes, the welcome and facilities at Long Lea were by far the best.
Having previously spent an occasional week respite at Long Lea, my sister chose to move to Long Lea when she was finally unable to live in her own home because she had made friends with both staff and residents. Her room was very clean, with en suite toilet and washbasin. She could bring some of her own furniture and tv. The staff treated her with compassion and respect, friendship and genuine caring, day and night. Despite her complex needs and being increasingly bedbound, she was provided with everything she wanted or needed. Family members were welcomed and carers and managers were always available to discuss anything under the sun. During a sudden downturn in my sister's health, three family members were welcomed to stay as long as desired - including overnight. Carers and managers cared for us, too, with great compassion. My overwhelming feeling is that the staff truly care for the residents, forming bonds of true understanding of each individual's needs. Thank you, one and all.
