View Full Details of Low FurlongThe manager and her team really care for the residents and their families. They work hard to maintain the residents' quality of life. The staff are happy to answer any questions and regularly give the families feedback. Mom has settled in really well and I highly recommend the home.
I cannot think of a better place for my mum to spend her latter years. The care she receives from the absolutely fantastic staff is amazing, they are so caring and go out of their way to treat all the residents as family. The staff keep residents family well informed of everything that is going on and I always look forward to the weekly newsletter with photos of all of the events that have taken place during the week. My mum went on a trip to the seaside this week which is just one of the many trips that are organised and which she thoroughly enjoyed. I truly cannot praise the staff and management enough for the level of care, and fun, that my mum has, which has enabled her to settle into Low Furlong so well, literally from day one. When we knew Mum needed extra care, Low Furlong was the first, and only home, we visited, as it became clear very quickly that we would not find anywhere better. As the saying goes, when you know you know, and we knew Low Furlong was perfect for mum.
My mother has been at Low Furlong for approximately 15 months now and she is so happy and relaxed which makes us as a family calmer about the whole dementia situation and this is all due to the excellent care she receives from the staff.
My mum has been a resident for over 3 years and has been very happy there and I have also been very extremely happy with her care. During the past few weeks, as she has been unwell, I have spent many hours at her bedside and have seen first-hand just how wonderful everyone is. Not only do they look after the residents but they are very caring to relatives at a difficult time. Nothing is too much trouble from the senior management to the carers, the catering staff, the housekeeping team and everyone in between. I have seen how great the daily activities are and the social media coverage and weekly email updates are just great. I would not hesitate to recommend Low Furlong for a loved one. It truly deserves its 'outstanding' rating.
Like all organisations, the standard is set by the manager. At Low Furlong, they are blessed to have someone who clearly enjoys her job and is truly both resident and staff-centred. This is reflected in the welcoming atmosphere of the home and the caring attitude of the staff. I am most impressed.
After a routine blood test organised by the home, we were called to take Mum immediately to the hospital. The home had Mum and her hospital bag all ready to go. Most importantly her notes were ready, they were completely up to date, including for that day. These were absolutely invaluable in the hospital e.g. so they could discount some conditions and understand Mum's circumstances. Our mum has dementia, we trust the home implicitly and know how much they love and respect her.
Our mum has been a resident of Low Furlong for approaching 2 years. I am so grateful for the kindness, patience and professionalism shown to her each and every day by the staff. While Mum's Alzheimer's progresses we are comforted to know she is happy, content and well looked after. Mum's room is kept beautifully clean, she eats lovely meals and there is a full and entertaining schedule of activities every week! Thank you to the manager and all the team!
Low Furlong cares so well for my mum and has taken her on a lovely trip to the seaside. It was wonderful to see the photos and see how happy she looked to be there. Thanks to all the team for caring and giving Mum such lovely experiences.
My father has settled in so well since he first came into the home in March. He initially came for a trial stay but kept extending this as he became accustomed to his surroundings and the way of life in the home. He loves the food and the staff are always so friendly and helpful. He moved from Nottingham to the home and the management team has really supported him in transferring his ongoing medical care from his Hospital to the local one in a timely manner. Whenever I visit my father I'm always struck by the relaxed and pleasant atmosphere in the home never too busy but also never too quiet, a great balance which I suspect is not easy to create. I could not imagine a better home for my father and have already recommended it to others.
Long Furlong was the perfect choice for our mum. The facilities are new and clean, and while the care and love provided are the best, which is hugely reassuring for us as family members. The regular activities for residents are varied and well-organised. From the first meeting with the management, we knew this was the right choice and everything since has confirmed this.
I work overseas, and my mother is a resident. My sisters are the more frequent visitors but I can attest to the absolutely amazing treatment my mum has at Low Furlong. She is, most importantly, safe and well cared for but the leadership and staff also make her feel completely at home. She is treated with dignity and encouraged to involve herself in activities. We feel fortunate to have our mum living in such a great nursing home. Thank you for making Mum's days so comfortable and fun.
My husband is a new resident at Low Furlong, so really is still settling in. The staff are all kind, patient and caring. The home is very comfortable with a homely atmosphere and everyone is very helpful.
Our mum is extremely happy and contented at Low Furlong, which is her home. She is well cared for and sensitively supported. As someone living with Alzheimer's, life is challenging and confusing. However, she is stimulated and can engage with activities in a way that suits her. Staff are kind, patient, and willing to take time to listen to Mum. This means our family can feel secure in the knowledge that she is well cared for.
The activities arranged each day are second to none, keeping the residents stimulated and active. There is always something to do if they want to but equally they are left to rest if they don't want to get involved. The staff are never too far away and nothing is too much trouble.
The staff, facilities and care provided are second to none, it's always a pleasure to visit. The weekly updates are always informative and give a great view of the activities which have happened and planning for the following week. It's relaxed and professional staff are a credit to all.
This is simply a wonderful, caring place. There is a culture that nothing is too much trouble and it comes from the top. I believe they want it to feel like home. It is clean and very well run, with lots of activities and they will prepare food to the specific liking of individual residents. I highly recommend Low Furlong.
The care from the staff and carers was excellent. They looked after all the residents extremely well despite some being a 'little difficult.' My stay was a welcome relief from hospital and I enjoyed it.
Low Furlong is well managed with great staff full of happiness and life. The 8 months my mum-in-law was there she was encouraged to take part in many activities and go on trips. Her quality of life was much improved and she was well fed warm and safe which we could not sustain in her home environment. The care and compassion given to us when she passed was second to none and made it easier to come to terms with. We would not hesitate to recommend Low Furlong to all who need peace of mind. Thank you.
This home is fabulous. The permanent staff are truly caring and go out of their way to make a difference. I’m always kept up to date with things, invited to the regular events and felt heard. Nan loves it; her room is kitted out with her things (far too much of it), and she feels like family. Nan doesn’t suffer from dementia, but she has a great relationship with the residents and staff alike.
Absolutely fantastic staff. The love and care they give to the residents is beautiful. Brilliant atmosphere for the residents with so much for them to do. Thank you for all you do for her. Would most definitely recommend Low Furlong.
