View Full Details of SycamoresDuring this pass year 2024 we have only been able to visit our cousin on a few occasions due to family illness and the fact that we live in South Devon. On our visits we have found the staff members helpful caring kind and knowledgeable about our cousin and his individual needs. We are also made to feel very welcome. The home is clean, well maintained and very homely. Throughout the year we have been kept well updated with his daily living and any medical issues that have arisen which is very reassuring for us. On the occasions when we telephone one of the staff members will take the phone to him so we can have a chat or a Face time which he loves. We are very grateful to the approachable care manager and all his staff. Thank you.
When I walked into the Sycamores on December 11th, I was once again impressed with the bright, happy atmosphere and cleanliness. The Christmas decorations were beautiful, and the staff was very welcoming and courteous. I hadn't seen my mother in almost two years and when she saw me enter the room she stood up and hugged me tightly. We had lunch and a delicious Christmas supper together. Every member of staff I encountered was very kind. My Mom's room was really nice, not just clean, but cosy and efficient at the same time. I had brought her a suitcase full of new clothing, but I noticed that all of the clothes she had originally brought were still in great condition. Plus it appears someone has given her some nice new shoes. She was also sporting a pretty new haircut. She loves the music activities and spending time in the lounge from my observation. A big thank you to the managers and all the members of staff I had the privilege of meeting. I look forward to visiting again in the summer!
Mum has been in the Sycamores for about 18 months now. They have just had a new lighting system installed that alters the brightness during the day and dims in the evening. This has improved Mum's health a lot. She doesn't get so confused with day and night and doesn't get so agitated. The staff are very friendly and very patient when looking after Mum. Always very helpful.
Our aunt was very well looked after at The Sycamores. She had a very nice room that was kept clean. The staff and management were very kind and caring and treated her with dignity and love.
My Aunt was very happy at Sycamores. The management and staff were always very friendly and welcoming to residents and visitors. If there was a problem is was always sorted. Sycamores is a warm and friendly home. Nice and homely.
My husband was in Sycamores for 18 months before he died. He has dementia and could be very difficult but he was always treated with patience and kindness. In the last few weeks of his life, he had many problems but was always treated with dignity. Not only did the staff care for him they were also caring towards me and I am truly grateful for that.
The Sycamores Care Home was ideal for the period of respite and recovery that I needed to get strong enough to look after myself at home. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the food was good. The gardens are well maintained and I spend many hours doing my exercises and physio workouts to improve my muscle and coordination. I would recommend this care home to anyone needing protection and a safe environment.
My mother is a resident at The Sycamores. On Wednesday 12th June, she and other residents went on a day trip to the seaside. This was a visit made in conjunction with the local bingo group from the local community centre. The reason for my email is to let you know what fantastic staff you have at The Sycamores. From the staff who made sure the residents were up, dressed, breakfasted and ready to go, to the staff who got residents safely on board the coach, to the staff supporting residents and their relatives on the trip and, last but not least, the staff welcoming us back to The Sycamores and greeting the residents with a welcome cup of tea. I never dared to dream that my mother, who has mobility issues, would ever be able to participate in such a day. The staff made what I thought impossible possible, and I will treasure this day.
Visited Mum in February for her birthday. I live abroad, so it was a short visit. The staff hosted just us for a lovely dinner. It was a memorable moment - and Mum was so proud to have her son visit. Overall the place seems to be run well and the staff are well suited and seem content with the work which creates a nice but also professional atmosphere.
Sycamore Home organised a trip to the coast last week and took a group of residents out for the day. It was the first time Dad had a trip out further from his home and Dad and I had a super time. Dad and I enjoyed the fresh sea air, fish and chips, ice cream and good company. We are looking forward to the next trip.
The trip to Weston-super-Mare. This trip was organised very efficiently and the staff worked very hard to make sure everyone had a good time, we were very lucky with the weather and found a nice place for us all to eat together. The walk to the end of the pier for an ice cream was a bit blowy but at least we had the sun. Overall I think Sycamores did a very good job. I think a big thanks to the driver is called for as he was very helpful and patient.
Mum has settled in, the staff are very kind and try as much as they can to look out for Mum's individual needs. She is enjoying the singing. It is reassuring for all the family to know she is safe and looked after. Thank you Sycamores.
From the first day Dad entered Sycamores Nursing Home, I noticed a drastic change in him. He now had company, people popping their heads into his room. He loves the activities laid on and trips. The staff are always smiling, happy and caring. He's able to have time out in his own room if needed. But, whatever he requires, the staff do their very best to accommodate. It's the best move I ever made, he is happy and that is the main thing.
My mother (Mum) has now been at Sycamores in Leamington a little over two months. Each time I come away I'm struck by how settled and well she appears. I know this has a great deal to do with the level of care she is getting from the staff, all of whom come over as forthcoming and committed to the overall welfare of their residents. I'd also like to add that the venue also looks as well as do the people living there. A big thank you to the manger and his excellent team. I'm already looking forward to our next visit knowing that she's in great hands. Thank you all!
Mum had a month of respite. The home is clean and airy. What makes it different is the staff. So friendly and willing to help out, makes for a much easier stay than I expected. These folks are great, going above and beyond to assist. Thanks, gang!
Mum came to stay at Sycamores at the end of August this year, initially for a short respite care break. She was made to feel very welcome by all the staff. We have been lucky that she settled in well and we were able to make her stay permanent. She has her own lovely room on the ground floor which overlooks the garden at the back. The manager and his team are a real credit to Sycamores, they are always smiling and nothing is too much trouble. I am happy that Mum is in their care and being looked after so well. She is warm, cared for and well fed. Sycamores has given her a new lease of life with new friends around her, new activities to try and she is living a more fulfilled life. Thank you.
We would like to thank all staff at The Sycamores for all the care and support that they gave our dad over his time in the home. Even as visitors, we were made to feel very welcome and well looked after. We were able to visit with our dog, Molly, which made our dad's and some of the other residents, day. Thank you for all your love and care.
Thank you all for your care in looking after Mum. We will miss you all. Hopefully, Mum will settle into her new home. She couldn't have done this without your care and attention - all staff are outstanding. She has had her good and bad days but overall, not too bad. We are all very grateful to everyone at Sycamores. Love you all.
Caring and empathetic staff. Checking on residents and trying to engage them in activities. Sorted out meals for the fussy eaters and always a never-ending supply of hot cups of tea. Help with personal hygiene is not too much trouble.
We were so worried about our stepdad going into care after living in a house, but after careful thought and several falls and confusion some days, we made the decision. He is well looked after by the lovely, caring and welcoming staff and nothing is too much trouble, the meals look lovely... (albeit could be warmer or given a minute to make hotter in the microwave) - but understandable with many people to serve, cakes and biscuits are always offered to residents and also visitors. They have weekly bingo and lunch club, play dominoes and weekly musicians go for a good sing-song. Although we were worried prior, the staff made the resident welcome and well looked after during the transition of another chapter in life, but they make us welcome also and keeps us well informed of everything. Lovely place, with staff, meals and a fair amount of activities.
