I've visited various friends over 26 years and this home beats all others I've experienced as a visitor or client. The recent upgrade is fabulous for dementia stimulation. Staff have stayed for years and home is clean and food is 'comfort' favourite. I hope to end my days as a resident!
My mum moved into Westlands in December and she was welcomed with loving arms. Before I panicked about leaving my mum on her own despite her having carers throughout the day, now I can rest easy knowing she's well looked after and safe.
My Nan moved into Westlands in early December of 2024. She had dementia and was living on her own in her flat having three carers a day. She was not looking after herself, wasn't eating drinking or even having personal care, she was completely demotivated and was borderline malnourished. Since living at Westlands Nan has gained 6kg in weight, she has trips in the memory maker bus, goes to the cafe nearly every day, joins in with activities and now has gained back her independence. The change in her is absolutely phenomenal, O want to say a huge thank you to every single staff member at Westlands from the Management Team, the Carers, Activity Coordinators to the housekeepers you are all amazing and we are eternally grateful for everything you have done and continue to do for my Nan.
Our Nan moved into Westlands three days ago and the difference I have seen in her already is incredible! The home is so cosy, homely and welcoming. The concierge is so friendly and professional. Nan was apprehensive at first but has got completely stuck in with socialising and spending time in the cafe which before her dementia was her favourite pastime, Westlands have enabled her to be able to do this again. She thoroughly enjoys the community musician and cannot stop talking about him, she said she felt very special after a sing and dance with him. The home is clean and well kept and the facilities are brilliant. I would highly recommend this care home to anyone, the manager has been extremely supportive during this what could've been a tough time for the family but has made the transition simple and smooth, Thank you to all of you we can't wait to see what the future holds.
Although my mum was only with you for a short while, she was looked after very well with lots of love and care.
It’s with sadness my mum passed away on the 24th of April 2024 at Westlands Care Home. However I would just like to express my heartfelt thanks to every member of the care home team who played a huge part in caring for my mum. Mum was at the home for 2 years and the care she received was of the highest standard. Even through what must have been challenging times eg COVID / refurbishment the care and dedication shown by staff never faltered. My mum was happy and above all else safe which for her family's peace of mind meant everything. So thank you to you all, continue to do the fantastic work you do. The care sector is lucky to have you. Kind regards.
My mum's granddaughter recently passed away while I was out of the the country. Westlands Care Home were extremely helpful and supportive to mum (and me) during this time. A staff member attended the funeral with mum and I can't thank them enough for this support.
The care given to my mother-in-law is so far excellent. They look after her very well, she is happy and content.
My mom has been in Westlands for 6 months and the overall experience has been very positive. The care and detail given to mom is very good and the staff carry out their duties in a professional and proficient manner. The pending decorations will enhance the image of Westlands and I see this as a major benefit to staff and residents. Overall keep up the excellent work!
Since my mother arrived at Westlands during the height of Covid we have always been impressed with the friendly and sympathetic way that she has been cared for. We are always greeted with a friendly welcome from onwards to the lower floor, where the staff remain efficient and courteous.
My mam recently lost my dad after 62 years of marriage and dad was her mainstay and looked out and after her. This rendered my mam feeling alone and helpless. As her daughter, it was my responsibility to find a place of safety near to me in Northamptonshire. I visited Westlands Care Home and as soon as I walked through the door I felt a weight lifting off my shoulders. The welcome I received was overwhelming. The tour of the home was professional and friendly. I noted the residents were calm and were interacting with the care team. Mam moved into the home last Friday 16 June 2023 and is in the process of settling in. The feelings of being alone and helplessness are subsiding, she likes all of the care team which is great. Nothing is too much for the team, you ask for assistance and you receive it. An amazing place, I am looking forward to mams future being cared for by good people. Thank you.
My father has been in for two weeks respite care. He has been looked after exceptionally well. All the staff have been kind and very friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. They didn't want him to leave!
Immediately you walk through the front door of Westlands you know you are in a friendly and caring environment. The staff at Westlands are outstanding. They are happy, caring, attentive, polite, and friendly. My elderly friend was immediately at home in Westlands, I know he will have a long and very happy time at Westlands. Nothing is too much trouble for the team at Westlands, they attend to any concerns at once and are genuinely interested in the welfare of their residents (and their friends and family). I have complete peace of mind that my friend will be cared for with respect and dignity. Thank you team Westlands. I would also add that in my opinion, Westlands is fantastic value for money - worth every penny. It is wonderful to see so many staff always on hand to help and care for Westlands residents.
There is a welcome when you walk in the doors. The management and staff, including carers, are helpful. If a concern is voiced it is dealt with immediately. My mother is settled and calls it home and I feel that the carers give attention to her needs. My mother likes being in the day room with other residents and especially enjoys the sing-a-long with the guitar man on activities day.
My mother went to stay at Westlands to recuperate after a hospital stay, immediately we found the staff so welcoming and reassuring that Mum would be well looked after. Over the next two months as Mum recovered we could see that she was happy, relaxed, well looked after and enjoyed the company of the other residents - to the point Mum is staying longer. Any place of care is really made by the people that work there and I can definitely say that the entire team at Westlands are excellent and go the extra mile for the happiness of the residents. I enjoy that Westlands is local to me and that visiting hours are not restricted.
So happy, so clean, really caring and good knowledge of all residents by the staff. Know which hot or cold drink for different times. Varied and choices of daily meals. Clean clothes and rooms. Very pleased to be back for entertaining residents again on a voluntary basis. Love getting to know the new residents. Love the strict entrance safety measures. Friendly staff, sad that covid halted and restricted entertainment and activity for so long but understand the reasons.
I volunteer on a Friday morning with my sister. We get to know the residents and staff very well by going every week, everybody is so welcoming, caring and kind. We play bingo, dominoes, cards, crafts, singing and remembrance books. I haven't been in another care home but I don't think you could better this one. The manager and all the staff go out of their way to see that all the residents and their families are happy.
Westlands is quite simply, very special. The staff offer such caring and loving services, they are welcoming, friendly and always there to help with any questions. My husband and I have been coming into the home volunteering, we sing to the residents and each visit we come away with the biggest smiles. Such a wonderful home.
The team worked hard to facilitate visits during Covid restrictions while maintaining safety and enabled an in-room visit at short notice which meant the world to me and my dad.
When we found ourselves in urgent need of care for my mother, Westlands care service pulled out all the stops to help. They made a stressful situation manageable with their caring attitude, advice and action. My mother's needs are complex and I’m more than satisfied with the service being provided to her at Westlands. Unfortunately, with covid I have yet to see the facilities in person so have scored good for related topics for now. The video tour they did gave good reassurance in this regard. They operate a service that details the daily care being provided personally to my mother. This is a fabulous tool especially in these strange times when access to the premises is so restricted. I would not hesitate to recommend Westlands, especially if, like me, you are new to all this.
