View Full Details of Codnor Park Residential HomeMy Dad had a terminal cancer diagnosis in December 2024 and was entitled to free care under the NHS's continuing care scheme as long as he opted for a nursing home on their list. We declined this and opted to pay for Codnor Park which we knew to be a good home as Mum was a resident there before she died last May. Yet again the standard of end-of-life care was second to none. The environment is bright, clean, welcoming and there are plenty of activities but it is the staff that make the real difference. Their care, compassion and professionalism in looking after Dad and my brother and I was fantastic and we are grateful to them for making an already difficult year for us more bearable. We would highly recommend this home.
The Codnor Park Residential Home is brilliant. It looks after my dad brilliant. The home is very clean and bright. The food is excellent. Staff 100% in what they doing. Management always there to answer your questions. I know dad is safe in Codnor Park and being looked after day/night. Very pleased with the home that we picked for dad. Thank you for all that you are doing for him.

The communication relating to our dad has been excellent. We feel that the home provides a very supportive environment.
Lovely facilities and staff. Nice place to come and visit family.
I love visiting my aunty, its obvious how caring everyone is to the service users and the place is always clean and tidy.
Beautiful room to meet with family, like being out and sitting in a cafe absolutely smashing.
Staff are very caring and attentive and create a lovely atmosphere for visitors and residents. Lovely tea room well equipped for visitors. Overall lovely visit.
My experience with this care home has been really good. My father has not been well but he has had exceptional care, called paramedics when needed so he could get sorted straight away. I really cannot complain about anything. Wonderful staff at all levels.
Amazing amount of effort put in to entertaining and caring for residents and really good at involving family with lots of fun events.
Our mum has been here since December and she has looked so well and put weight on. She joins in all activities nothing is too much trouble for anyone such lovely carers, people, management. All credit to them.
Mum has been at Codnor Park Residential Home for almost 2 years. The care she has received in this time has been second to none. Staff always go above and beyond for the residents and their families. I now have my mum back and I will be forever grateful for this time we have shared. I really feel that Codnor Park is is a family and we're proud to be a part of. Thank you. 2 members of staff are a credit to the team, their enthusiasm is amazing.
What a wonderful place. The staff are amazing and the entertainment for residents is so lovely. The care given to my grandma is incredible.
Since my mother-in-law came into Codnor Park Residential Home. My wife has got her mum back again after she thought she had pretty much lost her. The staff are incredible and are worth their weight in gold.
What a fabulous place! The staff are friendly and inviting, and it is always so clear how much they love their jobs and care for the residents. There is always something going on to keep the residents active and busy. I am so happy that we found a place that cares as much as this place does for my great grandma.
This home is a lovely environment, friendly staff, and very attentive to the residents. My dad is very happy here, he says the food is excellent and he always looks forward to meal times, and as long as my dad is happy, then so am I.
Throughout August 2024 the care home have had some really good activities. I came and had a meal with my father, which was lovely. They had a Summer fair and we won lots of prizes on the Tombola and raffle. It was outside in the garden which is kept clean and presentable. And most importantly the carers are very good and show respect to the residents. My father has needed the GP and this happens promptly and efficiently. All this makes me and our family feel comfortable and confident with Dad in here.
We moved my sister to Codnor Park after being discharged from Derby Royal Hospital. She was physically very weak on discharge, and we thought in need of extra care to regain her strength and confidence. Codnor Park was chosen because of its convenience and good reviews. After visiting to look at the facilities and meet the staff, it was an easy decision to transfer my sister directly to Codnor. During the last three months, she has become much stronger and is physically much better able to cope than she has been for six months. I put this down to three good meals a day and social contact with the excellent professional team at Codnor Park. She does still want to return home but we all now believe she has a reasonable chance of success in the move thanks to the care provided by the Codnor Park team.
Codnor Care Home is absolutely lovely. My Mum is settled and happy. She is cared for really well, and I do not have to worry about her. The staff and carers are all loving and caring toward the residents and always make you feel welcome when you are visiting. What a lovely care home.
Extremely pleased with my husband's care. They are very patient with him. All the staff have given me a lot of help to understand his needs.
This is the second time Mum has been in respite at Codnor Park. She smiles when she enters on the first day and absolutely beams when we leave with her hair and nails looking great. As a family, we cannot fault the care provided and this means all the staff. Mum feels very safe, and enjoys the family environment but mainly is listened to. Whilst there she enjoys the entertainment, crafts, plenty of refreshments and lovely meals. In fact, her only concern is the fact she may have put weight on!
