View Full Details of The Green Nursing HomeMy elderly aunt moved into The Green in March 2024 following a string of hospital admissions. She was made to feel very welcome. My Aunt had several health conditions, which meant managing her conditions complex at times. Unfortunately, my Aunt passed away on 17 December with her family around her. I can honestly say that the whole team was amazing. My Aunt had her favourite members of staff (you know who you are) who she loved and they loved her back; always showering her with love, care and attention... often popping in even when they were working on another floor! My Aunt made a very difficult decision in March 2024 to move into The Green but the team made her last months comfortable and for that, the family will be forever grateful.
My sister has stayed in quite a few homes but this one stands out for all of the right reasons. Friendly staff and residents up and dressed and attended to all of their needs. A big plus for my sister is that I am able to bring my little dog. The food is very good too!
Our mum sadly passed away in January of this year but I would like to thank and praise the kindness shown to my mum at The Green in Hasland. You made mum's last 2 years very settled and happy ones. It was our worst nightmare having to put our mother into a nursing home but the genuine love and care that your staff gave our mum was second to none. Keep up the good work you are an amazing team!
My mother had been a resident at the Green for the last year but passed away peacefully this morning. Throughout her time there we felt that she was very well looked after. She was treated with dignity, respect and love right up to the end by a team who genuinely cared. They were also very supportive of us as a family at a difficult time. The Manager and her team do a great job and I can highly recommend the Green.
Dad went in for respite. We were greeted by the staff who were friendly & well organised and clearly knew what they were doing. Things like the MARS sheet and medications were sorted quickly. The room is tidy and clean and dad was immediately comfortable in it. The food is very good. Very happy with our choice.
The care that my mother-in-law is receiving is excellent and she likes it here at this home. The staff are very professional and caring encompassing all my mother-in-law's needs. It is a family, friendly environment. The food is good and she has food which she likes for example ice cream. The rooms are very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated, with a pleasant view. We are so pleased that she has come to this lovely nursing home.
The staff are very attentive and caring and very polite in undertaking a very difficult role. There needs to be, and it appears to be improving slightly, more communication from management and the nursing staff when a loved ones condition changes.
As the daughter of my mum who is in your care, I feel very happy with the care and individual attention she gets. The care workers and nurses are all so lovely (I have complained about 1 of the bank care workers and hope this will be addressed). I would ask that they be a little bit more gentle with personal washing as sometimes it appears a bit rough as I've witnessed but I appreciate that they clean her. I have never smelt urine on my mum as I used to do in her previous home. The carers are always warm, happy and willing to do the best for our relative....Some care workers will sit and chat with residents which is great but they will sometimes miss things which I tend to pick up on. They are a lot on their phones, filling out and updating information and while they're focused on their phone, miss things. Overall, I can't fault them at all, they're all just doing their job. It may be an idea for the owner/owners to attend or hold a meeting with the Manager.
When having to make the heartbreaking decision of Mum going into a care home we could not have picked a better one. Our mum is very happy here and has thrived and improved whilst being in their care over the last 18 months. The home is spotlessly clean, has lovely food, very welcoming staff, they have an activities coordinator who gets the residents to participate in different arts and crafts and all staff are very pleasant and in my opinion, go above and beyond. When we visit Mum the other residents all seem really happy too which gives us great comfort as a family that our Mum is so happy and well cared for at The Green. Whenever there are any events like Christmas, Easter, Platinum Jubilee or Coronation, the home is so beautifully trimmed up to celebrate the various occasions and they get all the residents involved. The staff keep us constantly updated with our mum's care and if anything has changed in her health. Well done we couldn’t ask any more of you! 10/10
When my mum had deterioration in her health we had no option other than to look for a home that could keep her safe and cared for 24 hours a day. This was a very hard and heartbreaking decision for us as a family. I had many concerns about this. My concerns were soon gone when my mum moved in. She has had the most wonderful care and has thrived whilst being in The Green. Fantastic staff who are caring and wonderful food. Activities are continually on daily. Thank you to all the staff at The Green Home.
Lovely friendly clean care home. Excellent choice for my 93-year-old cousin from Enfield Middlesex. My cousin is very happy there.
An amazing nursing home. The staff are so friendly and caring. Despite the unprecedented challenges that are constantly faced, The Green continually rise above them, providing the best care for its residents with a warm smile and a loving heart. Professional in every respect, I cannot thank them enough for looking after my Mum. Thank you.
My mother was admitted to The Green as end of life on a fast track from the hospital in May 2022. I cannot praise the staff enough for their patience and care of my mum. She didn't want to be there and was very angry with everyone, in the beginning. However, they managed to get her back on her feet and walking with assistance. She started eating well again, which was due to the excellent meals prepared by the chef, she said it was the only reason she stayed there! In the summer months, we made use of the very pleasant gardens and would sit outside with her on sunny days. Mum has deteriorated over the months and is now bed bound, the friendliness and compassion of the lovely staff makes it easier to leave her in their care. It's not what my family or my Mum would have wanted but her condition gave us no choice. I don't think we could have made a better decision than to have her cared for at The Green.
Thank you for all the care you have provided to Mum, especially with Covid still prevalent in the community. Thank you to all the team caring for Mum and in particular, when she required additional medical attention recently. We are grateful she has recovered well and returned to being as well as can be for her age.
I think The Green was quick to respond to the Coronavirus with an early lockdown. They've taken safety measures to protect the residents by changing uniforms onsite, staff using a separate entrance, creating the rainbow wing for new residents coming into the home and isolating them from existing residents. Temperatures have been recorded daily and this reassured me that although my mum is in a vulnerable situation they're taking good care of her. The carers are very kind, asking residents if any shopping is needed whilst relatives have been unable to visit. The home has managed testing of staff and residents a few times and although COVID entered the home they contained it quickly and prevented it spreading. Well done the Green heroes! The Green is always one step ahead and allowed outdoor social distance visiting to relatives in June, many homes were much later in acting on the guidance. We have missed our loved ones so much this was a big step for us all. Thank you.
My mum has been a resident at The Green for over a year now. I cannot fault the care and attention she is given. Staff treat her with the utmost respect and dignity and go out of their way to cater for her needs. The precautions they have taken during the COVID pandemic have been first class and they have kept me fully updated re the situation at The Green on a regular basis.
Fantastic care, all the staff very caring and helpful, not only during COVID but all the time, thank you. They always have time to reassure me and answer any questions I have. My mother is very happy here.
My uncle has been a resident at The Green, Hasland for 4 years and we cannot fault his care. He is disabled and we have found all protocols are adhered to for moving and lifting of disabled persons. He has assisted bathing, washing and dressing. In fact all personal care that maintains his dignity. The staff are friendly and make time to listen to resident's needs and concerns which are addressed if need be. The meals are wholesome and portion sizes are provided in proportion to appetite, no one goes hungry. Plus there are snacks in between if desired. My sister and I have been particularly grateful for the continued care and updates during quarantine. As he is very hard of hearing we are unable to speak to our uncle by phone so staff have passed messages and news back and forth. While clinics have been closed, staff have sourced a dentist and a chiropodist to maintain his care.
No complaints whatsoever. The staff are always helpful and friendly. The care and support always go above and better than expected.
My experience of The Green Nursing Home, Hasland, Chesterfield is through my father being a resident. My family are extremely happy with his care. The conditions and comfort are very good and this backed by excellent staff make it a place I would recommend unreservedly. In my experience residents are treated with kindness and courtesy and I have witnessed on many occasions staff taking time to listen and respond to their needs with gentleness and understanding. This home has well surpassed all my expectations - highly delighted.
